Wood bonuses in boarding

It may be silly to ask but, does the crew resistance bonus on these woods apply while in boarding actions too? Or just against cannon fire?

Crew-resistence works in boarding as well.. There's a new distinction though - crew splinters fx. the book of five give a crew resistence to splinters..

We made an experiment back when you could push crew-resistence above 100, which basically made a 1st rate impregnable to de-crewing and invulnerable in boarding.

This was a bit more than 5 months ago tho..

Explain how they are invulnerable to boarding?  If you mean they can't decrew you to get your crew down in Open battle than yes it does help in that.  If you mean while in actual boarding it does not help at all other than when folks are graping you while in the boarding. 

Crew resistance just means that you loose less crew to splinters and graping.
