HMS Resolution was a 70-gun third-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy, launched at Harwich Dockyard on 6 December 1667. She was one of only three third rate vessels designed and built by the noted maritime architect Sir Anthony Deane.

She is not, since timeline is 1670-1820.

1667-1670 nothing really changed and the Ingermanland is in the game being a 1715 ship being of near identical in construction methods and layout other then the higher poop deck.

Lets be real, nothing pre 1700 will be added so lets stop saying the timeline starts at 1670

True, but it's mostly because people are "prejudiced" against ships that are pre 1700 and after 1830 even if armament and sailing performance aren't too old or too modern respectively.

Well, she would look out-of-place next to a number of the ships we have in-game now, just because they're from around 100 (give or take a decade or two) years later than her.

The looks don't bother me so much (she is not radically different from Ingermanland styling), but players have shown themselves to be deeply irrational regarding balancing to labels (especially rates), which creates problems when trying to include ships from earlier eras, e.g. insistence that Ingermanland must have equal or thicker armor and more firepower than Constitution because former is SoL and latter is a frigate.

The only difference in layout between this ship and the Ingermanland is this ship has a poop deck. So say it would look out of place would be like saying the Ingermanland looks out of place.

 

Btw this particular Resolution was rebuilt in 1698. After she foundered in 1703 Another 200 tonnes berthen larger 70 gun was built and carried the name in 1705. After that one was run ashore to avoid capture in 1707 another 70 gun of the same size was built in 1708 and carried the name.
