Malachi
Since we already have seen the L'Hébé-class a couple of days ago, here´s the next step in Sané´s 18-pounder frigate evolution: NMM: http://collections.rmg.co.uk/collections.html#!csearch;authority=vessel-358102;browseBy=vessel;vesselFacetLetter=V%252523wVh72x6jDhUXPGUu.97%2523dfzUMCoiguPuSzrY.97 Not the same class or by the same designer, but La Virginie would have looked pretty similiar to Rolland´s La Flore: Dimensions (pied de roi) length 143' breadth 36' 8'' depth in hold 19' Armament 28 18-pounder 12 8-pounder 4 36-pound obusiers Laid down 1793, launched 1794, lead ship of the Virginie-class (10 ships total). Taken 1796 by Indefatigable. History as RN vessel: http://threedecks.org/index.php?display_type=show_ship&id=7351
el_mariachi
It might be an interesting vessel to compare with Essex and Trinco...and more beautiful indeed.
Richard Dryfus
She definitely has better lines that either... and comparable armament.

Malachi
and comparable armament . Not really, Essex´s ingame armament is way out of proportions, she carried 26 12-pounders and 12 or so 6-pounders at launch. And a proper 18-pounder frigate like the Trinco or La Virginie is at least 10' longer.
