^ Merci pour l'info, mon loulou 🙂

Et si on envahissait la Grande-Bretagne ? Nouvelle mono du bateau canonnier de 60 pieds, modèle An XII.

Nice !
After a MMO (NA), an arena game (NAL) and a tactical real-time wargame (Ultimate Admiral : AoS), soon another project / type of game about Age of Sail ?
-
May I interfere ?
BungeeLemming was talking about the timeframe of the ships that can be included in the game. This time frame is still topical (as far as I know). The in-game Wappen von Hamburg was made in 1722.
As for when the game takes place, NA devs seem to favour the Napoleonic Wars. But you as a player can RP whenever you want some time during the 18th century and early 19th century.
Have fun. Won't disturb anymore. 🙂

I guess best answer atm is : nobody knows
Devs may have a feeling though

IHere's my suggestion:
Don't wipe PvE on game release. Let players keep everything they've achieved until this date: Knowledge, ships, money, outposts and all the stuff in their warehouses and chests. Everything.10 minutes ago, Admiral Olsen said:And:
Add an option for Hardcore-PvE players, to start the game at release from the ground, if they like to.This option exists. It is "delete your character". 🙂

Well, this is just speculation so dont take this as official word. But considering how modable unity games are in general unless specifically made with moding in mind(like KSP) this is not gonna be that modable. also judging by the previous ultimate general games.
+ knowing the fact that dev priority is two very structured campaigns (US, UK).
-
NA is indeed made to have newcomers join a clan.
However, you can play solo and certainly find quite a few guides in this section or in internet.
Before building, you need to earn money by taking missions in the Admiralty (fight and trade one) and fighting/capturing AI traders in the OW. It'll train you and give you money/XP/gold (not to mention the in-game tutorial).
Fair wind, captain.
