  1. Is the patch still coming today by any chance?
  2. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one I do have a few questions about the upcoming patch though 1. how will draught/beam affect the ship? (more/less displacement, hull form, etc...) 2. are the speed limits based on the individual hull or the year? 3. will stats like resistance be reworked as part of the weight/cost balances? (right now the resistance stat in particular is quite lacking for late era USA and UK battleships) 4. what will the alliances be in campaign, or will they be random each time?
  3. who amongst us still remembers the days when TBs had 12 inch armor belts?
  4. 1. expand campaign with more countries, and add proper diplomacy so it isn't always war 2. get rid of semi-oil diesel engines and gas turbines since coal doesn't work in combustion engines 3. steam workshop based import/export ship designs 4. improve AI designer- most AI ships are pushovers when put against a player-built ship of similar displacement. That being said, the AI is actually quite competent at commanding player built ships. 5. officer corps in campaign- one would assign a captain to a given ship, and they would increase the effectiveness of said ship based on their area of expertise. the number of new captains one would receive each year and their quality would be tied to crew costs. EDIT: 6. in custom battles, I often see battle going in one of three ways: it devolves into an all out brawl at super close range (these are quite fun) the enemy AI concentrates on my BB, allowing for any gun based BC or CA to close the distance and deliver devastating point-blank fire whist they are still fixated on the BB the battle is attritional, and the fleets expend most of their ammo at super long range until someone sinks due to the sheer number of deck pens 7. partial pen damage should be nerfed to about half of what it is currently. EDIT 2: 8. Resistance should be reworked so that super high resistance is a diminishing return rather than a must have. a BB with 120 base resistance is far less competitive than a similar build with 160 base resistance. in the above example, the 120 resistance ship would have about 60 percent damage reduction, whilst the 160 resistance ship would have about a 90 percent damage reduction. That would mean that a ship with 120 resistance would take FOUR TIMES THE DAMAGE compared to the 160 resistance. In short, the resistance bonus is applied in a linear fashion when the effects are exponential, and the easiest solution if to make the application exponential, i.e. one would have to use four times as much resistance to go from 40 percent to 10 percent, rather than 40 more points. 9. some Tillman battleships would be a welcome addition since they are well within the tonnage range of this game (most of them were around 65-80k tons in displacement)
  5. Tonight on Werwaz's funnies... I build a coal-fired gas turbine... https://imgur.com/a/0KFW6MK this refitted tugboat is called a battleship... https://imgur.com/a/mTBOOrj and this ship performs a 21-gun salute https://imgur.com/a/vB8GBDs feel free to add other humorous elements from the game below
  6. AI improvements- the AI runs away too much, it uses 19 and 20 inch guns way too often, cruisers and destroyers become torp spammers AI bonuses- the AI should not get any extra advantages over the player. excessive "some parts are badly placed" errors, even when the ship was launchable the first time campaign improvements battle groups- one could create different battle groups comprised of complimentary ships meant for certain tasks instead of the current randomized ones, then assign the group a role, i.e. raiding, escorting convoys, scouting, sea control, etc. more realistic campaign battles- using the battle groups system, there would be less 1 on 1 duels which are highly unrealistic and quite boring, and more battles between small fleets, for example a battleship with a heavy cruiser and 4 destroyers versus a battleship with three light cruisers. diplomacy functions like naval treaties, alliances, tech sharing within alliances, and non aggression pacts. make radios useful (limited range minimap???) late US and British battleships need a resistance buff. 80 is not good enough against the AI's 19 and 20 inch guns. the green water needs to go would also be nice if we had corresponding sky boxes for different conditions
  7. I was hoping for a Tillman... but the modernized dreadnought is appreciated, though it could be substantially bigger (up to maybe 65k tons?)
  8. UPDATE.EXE FOUND 'tis about time thanks for the update
  9. took about a year just to get one tier 10 tank (that's a money pit I might add) the only things that are profitable at high tiers are ebr and autoloading hull-downs like kranvagn and chieftain.
  10. the wait for updates in this game might be more interminable then the grind in world of tanks...
  11. I think I put out my thoughts on a potential solution I dreamt up on the whole minimap debate a while ago:
  12. the most I could see in terms of land battles in this game might be support fire for amphibious invasions, but not much beyond that.
  13. I think that in all there are only about 10 unique dreadnought hulls in the game, not counting modernized dreadnoughts
  14. screenshot is f11 I think also I noticed today they finally fixed the hitboxes on the US late era BB towers
  15. Save my save 2: the super pre-dreadnought (medium) you are playing as Russia, and the enemy is France. your ships are the Petropavlovsk, the super pre-dreadnought with 6 turrets, and its escort of 3 torpedo boats. opposing you are 2 standard pre-dreadnoughts and 2 armored cruisers. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SKLOpPlb7hxU3EC2qSV3xTSXvJTNJtsI/view?usp=sharing to add the save file, go to C:\Users\yourusernamehere\AppData\LocalLow\Game Labs\Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts and open the text file called "savedBattles". Copy and paste the contents of the above file into that document, and it should work.
  16. would be nice if we got more convenient save files for both designs and battles. right now, it is possible to share ship designs, but it isn't very easy to do, since I had to copy a few hundred lines of text from the text file with all of the saves. a design/battle saves folder with individual text files for each design or battle would go a long way also it'd be nice to see a hull and towers resembling the "big 5" US standard battleships.
  17. with the new save battle feature, I thought I would try adding a battle save file here Save my save 1: easy you are playing as the US, and the enemy is Russia. your ships are the USS Hyperion, a battleship with an emphasis on durability with 4 triple 17-inch guns, the USS Interceptor, a very fast battlecruiser with decent protection and 4 twin 13-inch guns as well as 4 deck torpedo launchers, and 4 Macarthur class universal ships, each armed with 3 triple 11 inch guns. your opponents are the Borodino, a firepower focused battleship with 3 quadruple 18-inch guns, the Saint Petersburg, a well rounded battlecruiser carrying 16-inch guns, and 4 torpedo laden heavy cruisers. https://drive.google.com/file/d/10nMjPYfAyOjlxMQMlUfuTOBvqmE57d1J/view?usp=sharing to add the save file, go to C:\Users\yourusernamehere\AppData\LocalLow\Game Labs\Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts and open the text file called "savedBattles". Copy and paste the contents of the above file into that document, and it should work.
  18. BC Interceptor (US, 1940) a battlecruiser optimized primarily for speed, while retaining decent armor and adequate firepower https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WRe4BQslzdkfl4jFy8UlG98L8fae9V9P/view?usp=sharing
  19. I do notice that my most recent AI opponents actually posed a bit of a challenge compared to the usual clown cars it made in the past. However, they still do have an unfortunate tendency to explode when hit.
  20. i made 2 new ships for y'all BC Type 005C (Japan, 1940) a fast battleship design that makes use of an ABC-X turret layout, along with some other unusual design features https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HseHwj6t5jC1mVKmDFMN1EQCUCAD1x5t/view?usp=sharing BB Zicai (China, 1940) a super-dreadnought design that I find to be both aesthetically pleasing and combat effective https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mHyT4seQ6ftik-SEvgMSlW1lK70iy1So/view?usp=sharing
