Port Battle in El Toco yesterday.
French attacked by the North West, Brits waiting in the central center during the first mins of the battle. Taking advantage of the first Wind change, French rushed the Brits, who were rapidly split in two groups, plus a Renommee which was sittting on the eastern circle for points.
Brits lost 1 Victory, 2 Bucs and a Renomee, for no loss to the French.
But Brits won the PB, at the end of the timer (a matter of a few minutes, but they won).
Anyway, for all, a good battle, win a lot of fun:

Agreed. This was one of the screen battle. Attacking a snow and a lynx with such a fleet was probably a desperate measure.
I was not in battle yesterday evening, sailing far away of that. I read on the French forum that in another battle, French sunk a rattle heavy and the mortar brig (which is more significant for a PB).
Late, I had a look on the PB itself, by clicking on swords. 18 Frenchs vs 13 Brits...
It was late, I was tired, I went to bed with full confidence in French mates. And they won the port-battle.

Several trials this evening.
I worked OK at 18:30 (server time). Logged on for a couple of minutes.
Tried to relog after dinner... I was in position, 89, then less, then 93 for several minutes.
EXIT for today.

Got the same, but without loosing the ship. Lost only the rum!
Problably a party organized by boots during the battle. I lost control during 15 boarding rounds, being disconnected during the boarding (lucky that this was in PVE), reconnected, saw that 15 rounds elapsed in between and won the boarding. Saw that my rum was drunk by the server while exploring the boot...
Taking IRL rum now. It is tasting more and never disappearing without reason to do it!

A lot of lags, disconnections, freeze and so on today in France.
Some players affected, some only in OW, some not.
Deinstalled and reinstalled Naval action, restarted the computer two times --> my main account does not work.
The second account, 'Eleazar', on an old computer (FPS 9), works better on the same box and the same net...

Since patch 16, ships without bow chasers (yours or the enemy, even boots) have the perk "Control".
You can leave the battle only if you are further than 500 meters from enemy ship with control perk (without chaser).
If you have the perk control or if you have no bow chaser, the enemy can leave the battle only if further than 500 meters from you, and you are stuck in battle if any enemy ship is closer than 500 meters from you.

A whole plethora of goodies in there.
Browser notifications only gives you that side=bar slide in notification in Windows, not the in-forum notifications.
I ever tried that. The notification setting is frozen to Yes for forum notif and to No for e-mail notification

My notification list is locked since several weeks. I declared it several times to forum administrators, but the concern is remaining.

Port Battle in Road Rocks yesterday evening, GB attacking, FR Defending
FR Leader, Louis XVI ( @DesMoines), GB Leader @Gregory Rainsborough (?)
Guest star: @Alanxo (Mortar Brig)
The battle started by an attack to the fortress by the British mortar, which was counter attacked by the French mortar, forcing the British one to retreat. She was later sunk by Rattle Heavies.
The Brits attacked from East, having the Wind gate. French responding at long range, staying far from carronade range and from boarders. The battle later moved from East to West, ships dispersing in several groups, each party trying to take the circles and to keep some ship in enemy's circles.
This was a very disputed and a very fun battle, which ended by a French Victory (1000 points at the 87th minute).

Ils seront beaucoup mieux en contenu commercial qu'en redeem. Pour le moment, c'est trop facilement utilisable. Toute décision diplomatique vide les clans et les nations, sur un coup de tête.
Naval action est sensé contenir une dose de gameplay, mais rien n’aide les diplomates et tout est fait pour leur casser les moyens.
Les deux derniers exemples :
- Les EDR ont perdu un grand nombre de joueurs expérimentés, passés pirates parce que la nation France perdu l’alliance anglaise (ce qui était à mon avis inéluctable à terme).
- La nation France propose une alliance aux Russes. Immédiatement, certains suédois conseillent aux WO et BLANC de venir chez eux (sans même tester les nouvelles possibilités de cette alliance).
Je pense que l’utilisation des "forged papers" devrait conduire le joueur à ne garder que ses XP (IRL, un renégat perd tous ses biens).

At least, enough for me...
The screen battles were very fun too. The one in which I fought opposed 11 British captains to 19 French captains, but the Brits were heavier (3 Victories, 3 Bucs and 1 St Pavel) than Frenchs (2 Bucs), the rest being 3rd rates and lower. A very good fight, I hope Brits appreciated!
Sorry, I don't have the final screen, I had to leave after 40 min (IRL concern)...

Oui, ça va dans le bon sens!
On sera peut-être enfin débarrassé des PB "Wasa only".
Faudrait juste virer les p. de Victory Marks pour que la totalité du jeu soit accessible à tous les joueurs.

I left the game because playing it was boring me.
My two last actions were to carry my mine production from outposts to Fort-Royal, using an Hermione and two Indianmen. On my return way, I was ganked (again) by players who told me that they are searching balanced fights. Balanced fight means 3 Wasa shits plus a Connie to attack an Hermione and two traders (LOL). And the come back of PvP marks convinced me that these “balanced” fight will be the only remaining one. I did not fight this last battle (why giving fun to gankers?). I saved one of the Indians, the other one being captured, then I surrendered the Hermione. As a consequence, the saved Indian came back in the fight. I was so bored that I just left the game without trying to save her again…
The day after, I tried to participate to another PB (one empty more, Americans did not come). During the pseudo fight, the clan war again restarted between players and I rage quit the game. I never came back in.
So the reasons that pushed me out are:
- RvR (too much of that, ad nauseam)
- PvP (gank only)
- Wasa
- PvP marks (encouragement to gank) and Victory Marks (even worst, giving disadvantages to weak nations...)
- Clans.

Hier soir, une vingtaine de capitaines ont essayé de flipper El Toco.
A la fin de la fenetre de flip, nous voulions savoir si nous avions réussi ou non. Dix joueurs ont consulté leur carte et ont annoncé le niveau d'hostilité qu'ils lisaient: 10 valeurs différentes de 50% à 97%. Trois ont déconnecté et reconnecté et ils ont obtenu la même valeur: 96.6%
Pour lire la bonne valeur d'hostilité, il faut deco/reco...
