I dislike the players who insist upon RP’n as “yarr real pyrates” but then complain about all their shallow ports being gone. I ask, well did you show up and help defend them? We’re not allied with France. Just a mutual understanding on the east coast and Florida where we shared mutual enemies of US, Spain and Russia. I think WO is similar to VCO in regards to we’d rather be put PVPn at night than flipping each other.

VCO is fortunately or unfortunately not the deciding factor. That lies with Privateer and XXXXX as the Prussians primarily want ports they own. As I’ve expressed before, Prussia is welcome to Williams Bay should that aid in the talks. Seemed most wood ports are losers these days anyway. We will support 5x’s decision regardless. Just a casual view of the screenshots and recent battles prove than clearly Ram’s back must be hurting tremendously and Prussia seems exceptionally good at killing Mort rats and half assed PBs...which is sadly most of our daytime crews can put together. I will however suggest that if NSANE wishes to prolong this war because of whatever reasons they might have, they should get busy whipping the daytime crews into a good enough fleet to challenge Prussia. I sadly cannot be there during the daytime most weekdays. Also insulting the only clans that do beat the Prussians is a tad counter productive and does not help with cohesion. Talk is cheap. Just a thought. I am of the opinion that since both our nations have good fleets at opposite times of each other it probably makes sense to end the griefing and just try to ignore each other. I much rather enjoy ganking noobs at night and watching 5X carve up Spanish ports than organizing RVR.

I’ll be impressed if anything comes of this, but an example needs to be made IMO. The trollquin has made this type of thing even worse.

A big issue is the fact that we have 11 nations and 400 players on a good day. Nations simply cannot have round the clock support because the base is so diluted.

Since I've been summoned here from the dark realm... The more and more I think about RVR / Timers, the more I feel like having a black and white timer system is the wrong way to go. There needs to be a third option in there somewhere where an attacking force can set a port battle without having to give up 2 nights or mornings to take the port. The flag system was great in this regard, but it was abused. We need something similar that can't be abused, but still allows players to set a battle the same day. I think if players only had to dedicate 1 afternoon or night to take an off-time port, we would have less whining. In regards to OPs post, I like the idea....but it won't work. It still requires players to be on 2 days in a row to take the port, which is the problem.

This is a crock of shit. You’ve had about as many empty PBS against GB this week than you’ve had vs pirates in the past couple months. Most of them in your time zone. Sterile RVR = Spain starts losing and quits...regardless of which time zone player base beats them.

You mean the guys we’ve been fighting non stop for over a year? After a while when you fight the same group over and over it gets tedious. We stopped recently, let each other do our own thing more and take a bit of a break. It’s been great. GB just took more empty ports during the daytime this week than I have at night in the past 2 months. So yea...

Regardless I'm tired of fighting Prussians and would like to move on to other things. Was a relatively easy battle and we definitely had some inexperienced captains on our side. I think a couple guys had their first PB ever in there. Pirates stayed together well, focused fired and didn't split off on their own...which the prussians did and died for it. Good on Prussia for coming out both nights. I like getting marks in bulk rather than hustling for it on the east coast 1 herc at a time.

Perhaps a crucial port of as much importance as you say....that close... to your capital should have had a timer. It was also fully defended by Spain and the reason for taking that port was due to Spain interfering with a Pirate port battle during US prime time where members of 7up and various other clans decided to stay up late to screen us out against another nation. Clearly you had the chops to get players to do that, but not attempt to re-take Key West. Jag’s arrogance lost you Key West.

Little Harbor, Nassau, Carta, Santa Domingo, Orangjestad, Hat Island + a few others.....all made more money than La Navasse yesterday all with EU timers on them. Why not go after those? Out of 200+ ports in the game, maybe 20-25 of them have evening timers on them. That's what...10-20% MAX? Surely there is enough content that could be created to those who are willing. Typical Graf though, when you start losing you just quit and hop on the forums and blame mechanics and Americans. This is a game still in testing. Why people even give a shit about ports astonishes me. As witnessed prior to the split of the servers and prior to the merge, neither sever was able to sustain a population long enough to keep players interested indefinitely. Hence reasons for the merge. Last night both the EU Prussians and GB ground up 2 ports they wanted against US time zoned players and will have battles tonight. Both of them managed to muster 15+ guys to do it. In the case of the Prussians, they had heavy losses but still managed to accomplish flipping. When Reverse and BF wanted to take back the secret islands away from the french during US prime they stayed up and got the job done. Maybe we'll win tonight, maybe not. The content is most welcomed. What's your excuse?

I'm pretty sure the historical mindset went out the window when Nations like Russia, Prussia and Poland were introduced as powers in the Caribbean. Or maybe Sweden and Denmark being major powers didn't tip you off to the not quite so accurate history this game uses? and besides, If we're being truly historically accurate here... Russia was on the opposite side of France (and Spain) most of the time during the Coalition wars. Yet you allied with them in game? How dare you! I think it's safe to say this is a Historically themed Age of Sail online role playing game. Players are free to play where and when they choose.

I dunno about that. The Brits in NA are many things, but I would definitely not discount their ability to snap up empty/garbage ports just to see their flag on those little dots. Rule, Britannia! They've surpassed even Spain in this...which is hard to do. Regardless, it's good seeing GB back in the gulf again.
