  1. Hello Admin, I second the above. Thanks for the email. Followed the link and read about the Clerk. Brilliant, am very excited and looking forward to more. Have a great and wonderful day. Capt. Ed and Seadog First Class Wade.
  2. Bonden, and all others who have contributed to these threads, well done and thanks again. My Seadog Wade and I are looking forward to this. I would like to see a merchant career line in this game and eventually an explorer career line too. Possibly DLC to open up new areas of the map. I would eventually like to be able to sail the whole world. Also the ability to establish colonies, plantations, etc. Petty Officer Wade has grabbed his captain and is dragging me off before I can get into trouble. " Darn master!!!!! Always pest'rin the Devs, again he does it!!!! Ask',in too much, push'in the boundaries of his betters. Some day he'll go too far and then I'll be an orphan again and I ain't let'in that happen!!!!!". Darn DOG!!!!!! Let go of my pant leg!!!!!!! I'm old and wobbly. I'll fall over you keep that up!! ....... Insubordination's what I call it, but I guess I've got to go now. Stay safe and fair sailing from Capt. Ed and Petty Officer Wade.
  3. Hello Bonden, Absolutely wonderful thread. It was an enjoyable and educational read. Caused me to buy the book on rigging. He also has one, that I bought, on fore and aft rigging. Keep up the good work and I hope Admin takes more notice of this. Looking forward to the first glimpses of this new game. Stay safe and fair sailing from Capt. Ed and Seadog First Class Wade.
  4. Greetings all, Thanks to all the above who ask such great questions, many of which have been rolling around in my head. My Seadog and I have been waiting for this. Much thanks to Admin for the answers. I have a request (Ducking to miss the flying over ripe tomato.). If it is possible please include a seadog NPC. My present dog is a 38 kilo yellow lab/hound mix. A Newfoundland is also a good choice, my old one was 90+ kilos. Awesome water dog, couldn't stay out of it. I'm on board when you're ready. Can't wait to sail. Stay well all and fair sailing from Capt. Ed and Seadog 1st Class Wade.
  5. Admin and Devs, On the PVE server we really need to be able to talk to one another. Please get rid of the Enemy Player and show the names. The only Enemy on the Peace server is the AI. Thanks and fair sailing. Captain Ed and Seadog Wade
  6. Of course. We all want to take 4 to 7 real life days to get across the map. Just joking, though it wouldn't bother me. Fair sailing all.
  7. Yes please. I'm from Corpus Christi Texas. I'm craving having the Texas Navy. It could be part of the US. +1, so many good suggestions. Back to work. Fair sailing all.
  8. At work so I have to be short. Please open the Pacific. Traders trim on some of the warships. Allow hailing of "Enemy Player "on Peace Server. Thanks and fair sailing all.
  9. Captains, Admin and Devs, Onboard my Pickle, Kidd's Harbour. Waiting........waiting........waiting. My awesome Seadog Wade is guarding me, he thinks I'll do something stupid. He made me SIT on the doghouse forward of the pumps and told me to STAY. Oh, the ignominity of it all, being told what to do by a dog. I sit and wait.......Petty Officer Wade brings me tea, tea mind you! Says I can't have any rum till the deed is done. So I sit and wait, guarded by those teeth that could rip a mans arm off if he wanted to. "Don't test me Master. A couple of months and I've had you for 2 years and I don't want to go back to being a feral dog. So you just STAY put. That's what you tell me all the time." So I sit, drink my tea and wait...........See you all on the other side. Drat dog let me be! I promise I'll not do anything stupid!!! Fair sailing all from Petty Officer 2nd Class Wade *guarding* and a quiet Captain Ed. Then I get some rum. Please Mr. Wade, I want some rum.......Wait Master, wait.
  10. Ahoy Captains, The anticipation is nearly killing me. In a fit of anticipatory angst I ran up on deck and threw myself over the rail. Seadog Wade jumped in after me and drug me back on board. After depositing me on my quarterdeck he told me to SIT and Stay or he would have me confined to my cabin.Insolent dog! 37kg (80lbs), "DON'T argue with my teeth and all will be well Capt." I'll have words with that dog after I've recovered from taking in all this water. *Falls over....Plop* (Petty Officer Wade) "Don't worry. I'll lick and revive him later so he can watch the fireworks. You will have fireworks won't you?" I think Master says, "Fair sailing.", or something like that. I say "WOOF, make it so."
  11. AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!! Is everything perfect...No. Do I love messing around in ships?.....Yes. Does this game, above all others get me as close to what I want as I can get?.....Yes. Do I enjoy it?....Yes. Can I find/do better?....NO. Captain Ed and Seadog 2nd Class Wade are going to continue to sail the High Seas with joy and vigor for as long as the servers are up and have a hell of a great time doing so, come hell or high water. Sorry to be short but I have to get back to work. See you all on the High Seas, fair sailing and a great game launch.
  12. Ahoy Captains, After an exhaustive search of the east and north sides of the map I have found no way in. Yet. I did find this interesting place at the northeast corner of the map. Now off to other great adventures with the indomitable Petty Officer Wade by my side. Hint, hint (Not so subtle.) I want a canal. Fair sailing all in our new adventures at the release from Alpha.
  13. Hello Admin and Devs, I know that it is probably to late to ask for this but could you consider offering the Le Requin and Pandora in trader trim? The Le Requin would make an awesome smuggler, minus a bunch of guns and with much less crew, my research tells me they did that when they were out of work as raiders. The Pandora would make an awesome shallow water 3 mast trader for those tired of sailing a brig. Thanks for an awesome time and myself and Seadog Wade are looking forward to many more adventures on these wonderful seas.
  14. Thanks Papillon. I'll try that tomorrow because there was simply too much to do this evening. I'll send Seadog Wade to Capt. Martin to get underway at once. If he can find an opening I'll probably join him and we can enjoy it together. I role play and both characters are entirely different. BTW. Admin, if you're listening, on Peace Server, it's extremely aggravating to not be able to talk to "Enemy Player" even if it's only me to myself. Please let us talk to each other on the Peace Server. Thanks. Fair sailing all.
  15. Yes Captains. I tried for 3 hrs last night to get through the ditch in the south with my Spanish character Capt. Martin. No luck. Today with my American character Capt. Ed in the north. No go. Seadog Wade even woofed it and growled it, but to no avail. I'll try the Bridgetown area tonight. If we can no longer get in then Admin and Ink need to give us a canal. Now back to work. Fair sailing all.
  16. Yes, please! I would happily pay $25.00 for the DLC. Galapagos would be AWESOME plus some rare occasional treasure. Now back to work.
  17. Regardless of how it turns out or what anyone else thinks or does, Capt. Ed and Seadog Wade are going to have a great time just going down to the sea in pixel ships and doing business on the great waters. I will probably be mostly on the Peace server because it best fits all the other things going on in my life. Not as much thrill but I can't have everything. Congratulations and best sailing all.
  18. Ahoy Captains and Admin from Capt. Ed and Seadog 2nd Class Wade. At work so we can't elaborate. Please Admin and Devs, open the Pacific with a proper canal, turn on the fishing and bottles, place a few cities and towns. Too beautiful a place to waste. I'd even pay for it as a DLC. For the War server 3 strategically placed canals would be good so no one clan could block it. Have to get back to work. Fair sailing and best of luck on the release. I'm looking forward to it.
  19. THANK YOU OP for awesome write up. THANK YOU all other posters for your wonderful comments. This pretty much fits my wonderful experience with this game. I've had to slow a bit because of real life but OH I love this game. I do have a vivid imagination and role play so when I'm playing I'm someone I could never be in real life. I grew up on the coast and was in the US Coast Guard. This is as close as I can come to being at sea again and I love it. I've played over 2 years now and have over 2000 hours with my 2 characters, have purposefully drug my feet so as to not level up, I'll get there soon enough. I play as a merchant Captain and only now am going to get ready to arm and be able to fight my ship. At this time it's actually become worthwhile to defend, if you have the time, rather than just run when you're a merchant Captain. It's going to be lots of fun learning what I've avoided for the last 2 years because at that time it was more fun to run and be chased. Anymn, keep it up and please write again when you're inspired to do so. To Admin, on the PVE server......PLEASE let us talk to one another. Fair sailing all and thanks again from Captain Ed and Seadog 3rd class Wade.
  20. Hello and Happy Holidays Jodgi, Captains and Devs, I love the free cam and don't want it taken away like it was before. I use it a lot when I sail around just looking at stuff. My suggestion to make it fun and safe (Not a cheat) is.....No com or attack allowed for 15 minutes while and after using the free cam. Anyone getting on a third party app to get around this is a CHEAT, pure, plain and simple!!!! Ban him/her from the game 'cause we don't need people like that making it miserable for all the good, fun loving players. I was just now going to say "Don't let cheaters steal our free cam." But I changed my mind. We should use it before leaving port. Like sending up a balloon to scan around. If we see the scallywags, call in the Navy after them. Then there's righteous PVP and fun for all. Fair sailing all and the BEST OF ALL NEW YEARS TO ALL. From Captain Ed and Seadog 3rd class Wade.
  21. Ahoy Admin, Devs and Captains, Thanks Admin for the info about the new upcoming patch and, though I really don't need it, the sextant as it will make things easier. Having read above an idea to put the European map on the PVE server and swap PVP and PVE every so often I thought I should add my 2 cents. I absolutely love the idea. One thing I have noticed is how stagnant it gets when the RVR has been done and things get slow and boring on the PVP server. PVE server has sooo needed content and I realize that the small dev team can't do every thing and have to focus on one thing at a time and hopefully get it right. If players could have their home port on each server secure so they wouldn't lose everything at flip then it should work. This would be a way to keep things fresh and dynamic for all styles of players. Noobs are able to learn without getting squashed, PVErs don't have to get involved in PVP unless they want to and PVP gets much more to do with new ports to conquer every few months. PVP just might get more converts because some PVErs might sail over to the PVP side for a little excitement and like it. The PVPer who has gotten tired of it for awhile can sail back to the PVE server for a rest and to do his trading and crafting unhindered. I know there would need to be a lot worked out to make it work but I think it would be worth it to keep things fresh and satisfy both types of players. Fair sailing and Happy Holidays. Now back to work.
  22. Hello Admin, Devs and Captains, Now that we will have the sextant, though I don't know what type of headache it would cause to code, I would like to see leadsman so that the gunboat, cutter, lynx and possibly the privateer could enter even shallower waters than they can now. For traders it could enhance the ability to escape. For PBs it could mean new tactics such as getting in behind the enemy. For lone hunters it might be useful also. Just a thought. Fair sailing all and Happy Holidays from Capt. Ed and his awesome Seadog 3rd Class Wade.
  23. Ahoy Captains and Devs, Some of the best, most enjoyable and instructive conversations I've had in Naval action have been with enemy captains, some of which have just sunk me. One time I was talking to a player I had escaped from and was out in the Atlantic, obviously not paying attention to my situational awareness, when I was tagged and sunk by 3 Spanish. I laughed so hard at my surprise at being snuck up on that I about fell out of my chair. Scolded my poor departed Seadog Max for not keeping a proper lookout. Look folks, if someone gets nasty on chat just ignore them or report them if it's bad enough. If they're mean and nasty they're living in their own little version of hell and we should pity them, not let them ruin our day or game. My experience? 98% awesome people in this game in 2+ years. Great folks + great game = FUN. Fair sailing all and Happy Holidays from Capt. Ed and Seadog 3rd Class Wade.
  24. Good evening Captains and Devs, I personally want the "Enemy Player " names and ability to hail back, at the very least on the PVE server. I also like the idea for someone of lower level to be able to get some sort of reward for having the guts to battle a higher level player instead of running off. Happy Christmas, Hanukkah et. al. from Captain Ed and Seadog 3rd Class Wade. Fair sailing all. Let's Make this Game Great Again. Sorry, couldn't help it.
  25. Ahoy Captains, Thanks for this thread I hope they do sticky this. I learned a lot from it. Great job. Fair sailing all.
