Ultimate General vs. Total War
captain pips replied to Albert Sidney Johnston's topic in General Discussions
the battles of ug with the campain map of total war would be the perfect game for me. -

i remember the govenours missions from sid meyers pirates:find and kill the infamous pirate xy roaming the coast of xy and you got rewarded by a piece of a treasure map. perhaps possible to create something similar with an elite npc, which you can just attack as a solo player with similar br and without fleetships. just another idea....

what about a daily payment for each crewmember? e.g you sail a frigate and need 280 crew,so you hire them and pay 100 gold each every day.if you don`t need them anymore or you stop playing, they can retire so you got no costs at all.if you loose plenty of men during a short period of time you will get a bad reputation(like butcher) and your recruting costs increase.

this could be solved by a max number of player per nation and balance the game in many ways...

Ship wipe - coming soon!

i would prefer the idea of leaving e.g 500k gold and enough materials for a 5th rate trader and frigate to each player.that would give especially the vet players a quick start back into the game and hopefully reduce the drama and whining IF the dev plan a wipe.life is always a compromize, isn`t it? -

I for one applaud the "Dark Souls" approach of not too little, not too much. Just enough to make a player WANT to explore the mechanics and what's new out there. I also understand that many players love to have all the data and math and gimmicks to they can tinker as much as possible. das ist zb ein post von hethwill aus dem englischen forum, das ich auch sehr intensiv mitverfolge, auf die konkrete nachfrage, wieviel materialien man für 1 dura schiffe braucht oder ob crafting notes überhaupt noch gebraucht werden.das sind meiner meinung nach zwei punkte ,die bei einer kompletterneuerung des craftingsystems doch von großem allgemeinen interesse sind und deshalb auch für unendliche spekulationen und gerüchte sorgen.diesen zustand würde ich auch weiterhin als unklare informationslage bezeichnen. -

BRlimit on Portbattles
captain pips replied to captain pips's topic in Current Feature Improvement Suggestions
good to get some response and different opinions.the devs want to force players into pb,so make them more interesting ,look a bit more historical and try to get away from that stereotype "25 locean vs 25 locean" -
i would really like to see a br limit on pb,because it could solve a few problems at the same time. 1.stops the flood of 1 rates ingame 2.would give a meaning to support ships like 3rd rates e.g 3.would give much more historical flair to pb 4.more tactical possibilities 5.would give specialized captains of smaller ships the chance to join
