  1. This just popped up the other day. I cannot get into the game all of a sudden. Any ideas? Thanks! -Ski
  2. Wow, over the top but well accepted! Thank you....wow..... -Ski
  3. Well, you just confirmed why pvp2 needs to be merged. Trying to find those 50 players on the map must be a daunting experience........ Come to the dark side and we in the King's Imperial Navy will be more than happy to help you get running! -Ski
  4. As long as the timers disappear, then the 7 day cooldown will be fine. Making port attacks available 24/7 will make this game really open up. Us North Americans are getting tired of all of the ports being on European timers. -Ski ....oh, and we need to get PVP2 merged!
  5. I assume that with the 7 day cooldown, that the timers will cease to exist, right? I know the big deal with us in the US/Canadian time zone is the lack of port targets available due to the Europeans setting the timers to their time zone. If this is the case, then I am all for the 7 day cooldown. It would allow for more coordination between "shifts" and more fun for us! -Ski
  6. This will KILL the game. Period. You require a player to ship their 1st rate from KPR to Great Corn? Yeah, see people leave. Please don't do it. -Ski
  7. Fine, but make it worthwhile. I would love to see a game overhaul doing away with a lot of the grind. The game is lacking a major amount of theme as a result. If people want more meaningful PvP, I have a few ideas: 1. At each rank, the admiralty assigns you a ship of a certain class commensurate with the rank itself. This ship has a unique historical name that is yours that reflects nationality (of course, the name may be duplicate depending on the number of people in that class). If you cap another ship, it retains its original name This ship is always a basic and at the bottom of the current class and only has 1 durability (avoids rammers). You CANNOT undercrew a higher class ship. 2. Reward builders with higher XP and ONLY they can build anything above basic ships depending on their crafting level. 3. Tie in mechanics that reflect the advancement of rank and responsibility, not ones that just bore the hell out of people. Perhaps as you advance, you can be assigned a specific squadron within the game and you have to work with your squadron to tie in with the big world. Those with higher rank have sole access to the flags and can determine strategy by coordinating with other squadrons. SO, Yeah, require the recruitment of crews, but assign a ship to the captain....kinda like they really did back in the day. -Ski
  8. Devs, I am at the end of my rope with this game. Now you want to have to find crew in addition to notes, coal and the rest of the rigmarole. ....... We end up spending hour after hour of building up mats to get that ship just to get it sunk and you get to enjoy the battle IF it was matched. I have been bleeding off my capped 3rd rates at a frightful pace while trying to grind to get that friggin' Santi.......and for what? I just watched the streamed battle of Carlisle that matched two complete fleets of 1st rates. Many lost their ships just to have to start over. What kind of game is that? The game is currently broke now that the only ships "of value" seem to be 1st rates; what is the purpose of the game as a whole? I might be in the minority here, but I am getting pretty tired to trying to play catch up. The open world is not a compelling place....it is a grind. When I get Rear Admiral and my Santi, I will probably call it a day. I hope the game finds a way to get more people into matched pvp rather than getting ganked outside ports or having to play second fiddle screener with a 3rd rate.....ahistorical to say the least. -Ski
  9. I fully concur that the 1.5 mechanic isn't improving gameplay at all. I find it incredibly awkward and downright frustrating. Godd intentions for sure. Nobody likes being ganked, but on the other hand, if you have the ships, then you should be able to play. -Ski
  10. The French really screened the hell out of each other. If they were a bit more patient and got lined up, this battle could have been a tighter one! -Ski
  11. Sons of Britain [sOB] is reaching full strength on PvP1! We seek new members who wish to serve honorably in HRH King's Royal Navy. If you wish to join one of the most dynamic clans in Naval Action, drop a request to join in the British chat room! We grow stronger each day and a good captain like yourself is always welcome in our wardroom! -Ski
  12. I was watching the video and was stunned when I saw a flooding ship instantaneously clear the flood. This isn't cool. It allowed the player to pop a repair and stay in the game. Is this a hack??? Go to 23:18. Opinions? -Ski
  13. Can anybody explain what happened at 23:18??? The flooding disappears. Is this a hack??? -Ski
  14. OMG. I lost it when the British showed up with a "SURPRISE F#*&ERS!" on the chat...... Hilarious!!! -Ski
  15. Really surprised that the 42lber isn't that much better than the 24lber with the longer load time.....interesting. -Ski
  16. This is going to change everything! I can see a bunch of stuck ships on the shore line. Should be hilarious! -Ski
  17. That was one hell of a weekend! I am still getting past the hangover. My eyes are killing me! -Ski
  18. Essentially it is unfortunately. There are many like myself that are hoping that there will be compensation if such an event takes place..... -Ski
  19. Perhaps the designers should allow larger ships to battle it out for shallow ports. Make it so Surps and Cerbs can participate. Now that would help open up the game a bit more and put more value in at the lower 5th rate level. Perhaps it is inevitable for all servers to become a PvP 2 at some point and a yearly wipe being done to square the field....who knows? Right now, PvP1 is rabid with action...... -Ski
  20. Well, we are seeing in other clans on PvP1 what we were doing on PvP2. We see fleets showing up with nothing but 3rd rates and Victories with nobody in position to even come close to competing against. With PR being a hive, you will definitely get a battle, but elsewhere, well, people are simply going to turn around. On PvP2, people were complaining that SOB was overpowered and I won't go on about that as it has been beaten to death. But, we would show up with 20+ ships and that chased people off. At least on PvP1, once SOB is established and producing ships, those huge battles will happen and it won't be just on our front doorstep before too long. -Ski
  21. ......And we complete the circle. We went to PvP1. -Ski
  22. I dunno where you are getting those numbers. That would make us about a fifth of the entire population on PvP2. Maybe at one time...... -Ski
  23. "If' is right! 50 people coming and going; crafting; fleeting; trading; afk; port raiding; transiting; etc, etc, etc....... On a map like this, that is a problem. -Ski
  24. It is a skill that takes too much time to "master." What are the odds of having two complete fleets meeting each other at Cayman Brac? 1 in 10? 1 in 100? How many round trips would be required until you hit that magical moment when the stars align and the gods relent? Those moments are packed together on PvP1. In the short time we have been on the server, members of SOB have already had massive clashes (in conjunction with other clans) with pirates, Americans and Dutch right on the doorstep of PR. There is no way that PvP2 could ever create that type of action....ever. Have fun plying the seas and enjoy those romantic sunsets with your clan mates. It really is a beautiful game..... -Ski
