  1. You will never define if it was splitting bigger fleet of just griefing because you will never know who else will join the battle. (Everyone has 5 min for that). I was in these battles from the first PB. USA was trying to get our flag timer to go off. That was the reason of tagging us (mainly tagging flag carrier) . Not because their SOL's was coming. They had time for that after we declared capturing first port. They had to fight because our lighter frigates managed to keep them in battle. US ships was trying to escape in the beginning. So i would say rules for griefing, splitting or something like that is pointless. Leave it all up to players honor. Its all tactics and if we keep it this way will be less work for court.
  2. I understand devs intended pirates to be a hard playing style.. Everyone agrees that pirates did not build Ships of the line or 1st rates. Ok lets make pirates different from all nations take away 1st rate and SOL craft. How to balance it out? Let just pirates and only pirates capture ships. Let pirates tweak frigate size ships.. More cannons, more speed etc. Different? yes . Hard?. yes. It will not be easy to fight in PB's with tweaked 3rd rates. Pirates probably would mostly have some shallow water ports and would not have that many resources but thats where delivery balancing comes in place. Don't forget that pirates must do at least some pirating Traders that wants to make a lot and easy money would be pirates target. All the rest nations would go to pirates for attacking trading ship. Pirates must do pirating. Otherwise call them just another nation
  3. I already see what would happen if group will decide to play pirate nation with the current system and your suggestions implemented. First they would all start in small/easy nation, get ranks up, farm resources craft ships. Once they done they will turn to pirates.. Nothing much you can do about it unless http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/8135-changing-nations/ Or second thing if it happens and other nations will capture all our other ports but MT how pirates supposed to gather resources to rebuild their ships? Again with the current delivery system you can not hunt for trader ships and i am sure there wont be much pvp for pirates if they all sailing in cutters unless http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/7895-tweak-to-the-craftingeconomy-side/( look up for my comment ) Now i don't mind if they make pirates hardcore nation.. but what you suggesting i would say they would be much better to remove pirates at all then .
  4. I would recommend to keep away from pirates ports. When we done with Dutch ships these 3 Will find a place in our pubs. ' Even before they were called pirates, there were pirates and there always be' No idea who said that .. but you get the picture yaarr?

I voted NO because i think it would be very disappointing if you head to port battle with your ships and all your group got damaged before even gets to actual battle Unless they would add weather forecast ' Attention Attention There will be storm in 10 min. Please stay at your ports and do not go for any engagements'
  6. Why would you want to do that if they have delivery system now. You can send any resources from any port right to your outpost. There will be no such thing as trading/sailing if they keep it as it is. unless they will make balanced fees and long time for deliveries so you can not make a profit by using it. Even if you crafting and selling ships still no profit if you using deliveries. Just in that case traders will actually sail for profit and actually will start using ships that are in game like Traders Lynx, Traders Snow etc. Until then you can easy ignore trading ships and cargo.
  7. Completely agree with all ideas as long as its not too difficult to implement. But one thing is clear.. Something has to be done about it PS. Where have you seen British or American caught pirating and released with all his ships, guns and resources he plundered? If you want to go go as a real pirate. With the eye-patch and a knife ! Nothing else.
  8. Hi all I think this one is the worst idea ever and easiest way to ruin the game. Its OK now at alpha stage if you want to test nation then pirates but after release who stops you to start in some easy nation, get your craft levels up get your ranks and resources then turn to pirates? Its exploit that can be avoided and it should in my opinion. If you want hardcore game.. start as one. Any comments would be much appreciated.
  9. All articles acceptable to me. I will find you in the open sea to offer myself and my ship for the Black Flag. Don't look that I am young pirate.. It just means my guns are not rusty and my gunpowder is dry.

  11. Did not know this method.. Im all hands up for keeping game realistic and since there is a way to 'Triangulate' distance its even more awesome. I revoke my suggestion Thanks for replies.
  12. Hi I don't know if it was left out for purpose to make game more realistic but i think it would be nice to see a distance between ships in sea battle and in open sea too. Sometimes you simply can't understand if you closing in on enemy and is it worth is chasing or not. I did search for this on these forums and didn't see it was suggested before. If it was sorry for repeating it.
