Can you imagine missing arresting gear on this ship? RIP Plane and everybody in the superstructure xD

I forgot to mention that the back side of the superstructure is reinforced due to this reason XD

Today I brought you an ironclad. The french L'Ocean Class isnpired me to draw this ship. She is powered by steam and also by wind. She has a nice, huge ramming bow. Her armour is made of iron and her main guns are not armoured at all.

She is capabel of destroying ground targets too with her main guns or with her bombs. Note: this is just a prototype, everything is subject to change.

Northern Airbattleship ABB-1 prototype (a)

Armour: 0-250 mm

Turret armour:-light: 0-50 mm

Also a french design. She is a THICC boi. She is a second class battleship, because she has underwhelming main guns and there aren't many secondaries. Her armour is also not good. Even though she is not great, I like her look. (The drawing is old so the picture is not the best)

Northern BB 2nd Class I.

Armour: 0-250 mm

Today I brought you another old ironclad with en echelon design. She has two main batteries with huge early breech loading guns. She is slow, very sloooow. That's why she is only a coastal battleship. Her armour is good and compact and she has powerful secondary guns too.

Northern Coastal Battleship II.

Armour: 5-400 mm

Turret armour: -light: 0-20 mm

                         -medium: 0-25 mm

                         -heavy: 70-380 mm

Armament: -light: 3*1 7,62 mm mg; 6*1 45 mm

                    -medium: 11*1 150 mm

                    -heavy: 2*2 381 mm

Speed: 16,2 kn

Crew: 750

Displacement: ~15000t

Like the design, Also turret design seems pretty cool. Ill get back into my ship making just have to texture a few models today for my portfolio (which isnt ready yet lol).

At least ill have inspiration when it comes to oldie goldies later on. But yeah very nice indeed.

Today I brought you an enemy 2nd Class Battleship. She was designed to defeat Northern coastal vessels, even early, smaller battleships. She has one turret at the front with the highest caliber gun at that time. Her armour is not the best, but she doesn't have to show her broadside because her turret arrangement. On the other hand, her secondary armament is not grear, she hasn't got lots of guns, so she is not that great against destroyers or torpedo boats. Her speed is better then the Northern coastal ships. One of the best thing about this ship, that she has low profile, her deck is lower, so she is harder to hit.

Southern Battleship 2nd Class

Armour: 0-300 mm

Turret armour: -light: 0-20 mm

                         -medium: 20-60 mm

                         -heavy: 50-250 mm

Armament: -light: 6*1 37 mm; 4*1 76,2 mm

                   -medium: 9*1 120 mm

                   -heavy: 1*2 410 mm

Speed: 20,5 kn

Crew: 500

Displacement: 11000 t

I like them too 😁  Also the enemy shells can easily bounce off.

Ye, ill get back to ship modelling once im done texturing one of my star trek ships and also model another one im working on.

But yeah very unusual design, will you do any pre-dreads around the design cues of 1904-1910? or just stricly before the 1900's?

I have some modern ones too :D They are around 1906-1915. But I have more obsolete ones. The mega battleships were around 1906-1915 too (not all of them). I have some cruisers and destroyers too, oh and monitors. I have so many drawings Jesus 🤣. I will post them every day.

I probs have as many untextured models as you have drawings lol, texturing star trek stuff takes awhile as you need to find all of the little symbols, with ship models (IRL-Based) its mainly just an issue of loads of polys and then simply uv-mapping, the entire thing (or simply parts that actually need texturing).

👏 Ship review 👏

Today i brought you my first armoured cruiser. She is the first AC in the Northern Navy. She is lightly armoured, but on the other hand she has effective armament against transport ships, destroyers, and cruisers. Her speed is slow because she isquite large. Her citadel is on the waterline.

Northern AC-I.

Armour: 2-85 mm

Turret armour: -light: 0-50 mm

                         -medium: 0-60 mm

                          -heavy: -

Armament: -light: 4*1 7,62 mm mg; 4*1 37 mm; 8*1 45 mm; 7*1 100 mm

I like the little details at the front and back, secondary mounts are very interesting a mixture of russian and french it seems (too me anyways). R.i.p any smoll boutes that try to pick a fight with dis anyways 😅

As time goes on will you add more to your stats for your ships? Like i did with mine for example? Think it would add a bit moar life to them as well. Maybe even number built or how many battles it has seen etc.

Or just me saying stuff and not keeping lips closed 😆🙃

Yea I can add some more details to them, I have some notes about all of my ships. I have some numbers and how many of them were built. I also have dates but these are not realistic, the dates are from my book, so they are all fantasy. The length, width, draught are missing, because I don't have scale when I draw. 🙂

Ahh fair enough, i forgot about your book so i guess some of that info might be spoliers which i would understand myself. I get my measurements from 3ds Max using a box primitive and then scaling it in metres to find out the length, width and draught of all my ships. Then round up or down those numbers depending if they are above 5 or not.

This is an enemy armoured cruiser. This is smaller then the Northern one, but more advanced! She has powerful armament and her speed is excellent, like a real cruiser. But I have to mention that this is also a later ship. The powerful main guns are in armoured turrets and the front ones are in sponsons and they are also lower to remain stable. She has bad AA, because at her time there were no heavily armoured airships and no airplanes at all. Her rudder is small and this is a major drawback. Her fate is not known. Rumors say that she was sunk in a bad storm.

Southern Small Armoured Cruiser I.

Armour: 0-180 mm

Turret armour: -light: 0 mm

                         -medium: 0-70-150 mm

                         -heavy: -

Armament: -light: 2*1 7,62 mm mg; 6*1 15 mm mg; 2*1 76,2 mm

                   -medium: 2*1 180 mm; 3*2 203 mm

                    -heavy: -

Speed: 28,6 kn

Crew: 500

Displacement: ~7500 t

Fate: ?

Damm she's fast, wasn't expecting too see ships from other nations, nice too see plus liked the little background story too.

I am still working on the flags, there are 7 nations. I want a meaning behind the flags, like the North flag is blue white blue=it is a cold region with ocean around it. The South flag is still work in progress, but I think it will be red and green with interesting form. Red=agression, greed for power (this time) [in real life I like red colour]; green=the landscape, it is mostly flat with only few hills.

But these are work in progress, everything is subjet to change 😅

Another day, another ship. Wait a sec, today actualy two ships!

First ship is the oldest protected cruiser in the Northern Navy. She has okey guns, slow speed, because the old technology. She had a boring life. And she and her sister ship were scrapped after 22 years of service.

Northern Small Protected Cruiser-I.

Armour: 1-75 mm

Turret armour: -light: 0-10 mm

                         -medium: 0-30 mm

                         -heavy: -

Armament: -light: 10*1 7,92mm mg; 2*1 45 mm

                   -medium: 9*1 150 mm

                    -heavy: -

Speed: 20,5 kn

Crew: 380

Displacement: ~4700t

Fate: Become obsolete

1598516119-20200827-101500.jpg

Second ship

This is my bonus for today. This is a small river monitor. The first monitor in the Northern Navy. She is slow, not well armed, but she is small and hard to hit.

Northern Monitor-I.

Armour: 5-60 mm

Turret armour: -light: -

                         -medium: 30-60 mm

                         -heavy: -

Armament: -light: -

                   -medium: 1*2 180 mm
