1st rates too cheap?

yes. crafting is on the table for rework

exceptional ships should be more expensive to make

1st rates should be a lot more expensive to make and maintain.

but because its a game eventually a lot of people will have them anyway.

we are testing new ways to limit the supply of at least some of the vessels.

Considering 1st rates - have you considered the possibility to limit amount of 1st rates by simply making them not craftable and obtainable only via limited supply that is directly controlled by the devs? For example events or auction like selling 3-5 of them per month?

Limiting availability of 1st rates could really make PBs and large battles quite exciting and to have possibly multiple objectives - maybe we don't take the port during this PB but we aim to sink couple of 1st rates to ensure their absense in couple next PBs and so on.

Another easy way from development point of view would be to implement a single craft ship BP (it's consumed after one has crafted the ship) that could be obtain only from, for example, highest rank epic events. In such case you could control via loot tables how many 1st rates exist in the world.

I think I posted something similar before.

 

To make high level ships more expensive or at least rare, there should be some time needed to build them, they should not pop out of the shipyard as soon as the material is there.

 

Building a 1rst rated might take 7 days, no massproduction possible with Labour contracts, the 2nd rate might take 6 days, 3rd 5 days, ... and so on.

To safe some time, it should be possible to queue building orders up, so the next ship's production starts automatically when the first is finished.

 

 

To make exceptional ships a rare thing on the map the shipyard shall need practice to improve the quality level.

As soon as you have the BP, you can build basic ships, when you have build a basic one you can build a common ship of this type, after 5 common ship, you may build fine ones, ...and so on. To reach the level of building exceptional ships of a certain kind it will be necessary to build some 15-20 ships. If you want to build other ship types in higher quality, you have to do it again, it is always valid for one ship type only.

 

These two suggestion together would reduce the number of high level, high quality ships drastically.

eliminate it no, limit it yes.

 

On solution is GALACTICA Online game, and his way to take the battlestar Pegasus(the most powerfull ship of the game) for 24h, only with Honor points, for every mission or port that you attack or defend, you recive XX Honor points, to buy special parts for your ship or keep it for take the big ship.

 

Obviously, changing the parameters for Naval Action

As i wrote in other topic before:

I dont see any problems with 1rd ingame.

To build them, you need a well organized Clan/Player structure or sec account/perfect self organisation.

Even so it is very expensive to lose them.

So in this topic we find a old whine Thread again. The players that are not interested in teamplay learn how hard it is to get the first, sec or even 3rd bring stuff like 1rd problem, everyone in Game with Max Rank would use 1rd everywhere.

Last time (about 3rd) this whine brought all day 4rd battles, so this players could take part with their cheaper connis.

I dont like it until today.

Iam max rank for a while now, i use ships from Rattle, suprise over Essex, Trinc, conni, inger up to 3/2/1rd of needed or just for fun. It is horrible to go alone Open World with a 1rd normaly a clanmember escort me in frigate.

So what 1rd problem were talkin about?? At least 1rd battles are really rare and expensive and you cant use your best upgrades because they are dura 1.

So here is no issue with 1rd.

Not Even historical, all big powerchanging battles include 1/2/3 rd (battleships).

Frigates where used for scouting, trade lane raiding, defending and communication

limit? why? you see in masssive amounts 1st?,  because i only see many in pb in regional ports. And this is a game, and i think that all players want to have one.

 

No. You are mistaken. Your own standards veil your judgement. A lot of players do not want or wish to go beyond 5th rates. All ships are to be played and loved.

 

1st rates are sort of easy to get by. Playing alone might be an issue, pumping 1 every 5 days maybe. With 3 friends it is a factory of 1st rates.

 

 

There's no real problem with them. Just maybe too many of them and might need a revamp on crafting, same as some of the others. The crafting doesn't compare to RL construction and equipment values.
