  1. My expirience when it comes to politics is that they can sure add alot of flavor ( and drama ) to the game. In Potbs, the french side on Roberts had what we called a council where the leaders of the diffirent societys took part in meetings to decide what harbors we should attack but also to decide what harbor that belonged to what society. The last topic could create alot of drama and sometimes the discussions could last for what seems like ages. We even had an election to decide who would become the Viceroy of france ( he basically become the leader of the french nation, with the assistance of the societys ) This also made it possible to have some diplomacy with the other nations / domestic societys to try to work out treatys ( for example, anti-nightflipping patrols etc ). So i wouldnt mind having something simular ingame, but i think that's up to the players to decide. The only tools we needed was TS/Vent and a forum to post on really.
  2. The figurehead of the Vasa. A roaring lion from the north holding the coat of arms of the king.
  3. I really like the ideas, especially the fire ones. Perhaps there should be some kind of restrictions to firedamage and explosions so the ship doesnt go down after 10 secs into a battle just because an enemy scored a lucky hit or something. After a sharp turn under too much sail she capsized, causing her gunpowder magazine to ignite and explode, blowing off most of the bow structure. She sank quickly, taking about 800 men and over 100 guns with her. Only 40 people survived the explosion, one of them was major Sparrfeldt. When the Kronan exploded, he got thrown over two enemy ships and landed unharmed in the sails of a swedish ship. I wonder if he bought a ticket at the lottery afterwards.
  4. Looks nice, i hope thou that you use the real naval flags for Sweden and Denmark during this period in time. Sweden had a three-tounged flag and didnt had the modern smaller coat of arms on it. Denmark sailed with a two-tounged flag. Example on Swedish flags during that time http://www.flaggskeppet.com/shop/19667/art67/h5999/6765999-origpic-fc617a.jpg Example on Danish flags during that time: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Battle_in_k%C3%B8ge_bay-claus_moinichen_1686.jpg Keep up the good work!
