  1. Nah, no sweeden. I prefer french cheese and wine over Kötbullar.
  2. THe above and possible rigging/mast damage. Maybe entangled rigging aswell, so it will prohibit movement away from each other or would cause even more rigging damage.
  3. Even if there isn't any data a simplified version tied to the overall mass of the ship would be an improvement.
  4. He would limit the attackers fleet aswell and the defenders fleet could bring more BR if the PVE players fullfill the spawned mission until the countdown is finished.
  5. How about allowing the buyer of the port battle flag to set the limitations for the battle. He could set a BR and / or a maximum percentage of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and the 4th to 7th rate ships. The higher the BR, the more you would pay for the PB-flag. I like the idea for PB-realted missions spawned. You could maybe up the BR for your side by fullfilling them, so PVE player could contribute to the PB.
  6. Cusomization would be fine. To prevent pink Constitutions you could have a predefined pallette of colours like mentioned before and maybe only three to five different patterns to colourize per ship. This would be totaly enough for my taste. So no one would come up with a razzle-dazzle-camouflage ship.
  7. Great to hear. I hope that will improve coordinated actions!
  8. I would say sailing with one ship and adopt your way of sailing to the wind would make more sense then, instead of having 6 ships for every wind strenght and direction.
  9. Great post, would love this in the game. This would add a lot more skill.
  10. I recently joined after a few days offline and found out, that most of our ports are captured and it seems that we struggle to get them back, or even keep the few remaining. I don't know how it is in the dutch or swedish chat, but one drawback for combined operations for the french faction in the game is, that almost 95% of the chat is in french. My french is rather rudimentary. I can get my restaurant order right during holiday or ask for the way and that's it. So I miss most of the chat messages in french. I can imagine that a lot of people who sail for France have the same problem and either misunderstand or even ignore the chat completly and rather stay in the general chat, because thats mostly english. It would help organized defense and offensive actions if those would be done solely in english. I would even join teamspeak, but being rather bad at understanding written french I would completly fail to understand mumbled french over a headphone with everybody talking at the same time in a busy teamspeak channel. I am sure even bad english would help more in this situation then keeping the chat 95% french. Lets hope we get our ports back soon!
  11. I could live with them as a graphic feature when using the order menue for your ai-fleet.
  12. I would be against teleporting with ships. Only allow it once a day, so you can quit the game if the real life calls you. But I would be for sending out my ships to different outpost with an Ai captain and crew (which I would have to pay of course) This could partially replace the Ai-traders in OW.
  13. What about removing the damage bar on the enemy ship and add audible advice/oppinion by your first officer which might be more or less randomized in accuracy. Or more cheers by your crew if you do good hits. Like after 15% (+/-5) of damage to the enemy the crew cheers a hussa or your officer makes a joke about holes in that ship suiting her lines. You will get an appropriate image of the enemy damage state and can remove the damage bars. At the same time, I would give no hint at all for the enemy rank, or crew size. I want to suprise and get suprised when I board enemy ships.
  14. When the new feature is well thought and fits nice, it would be more playing the game instead of grinding.
  15. Would love to have the ability to send out press-gangs. I wouldn't mind more realism either. Micromanaging the whole crew might actually be quit nice. Sourcing food for my sailors, upleveling my cadets to officers, etc.
  16. I think risking the valuable ships doesnt make the players avoid Pvp. They play maybe a bit more realistic. Maybe dont fight to death anymore and consider escaping a viable solution. Usually having no fear in computer games leads to an unrealistic playstyle. When somethung is at risk you suddenly get a lot more tactical and thoughtfull.
  17. Dont like the chaser idea. I would sacrifice realism for playability here. It adds some kind of rock, paper, scissors mechanics which leads to a higher diversity in the ships used
  18. Pirates should only be possible to craft and consume rum and wine. ;-) I am completely for a maintenance mechanic. The most expensive part should be to keep your ship working. The bigger the ship, the more you have to pay. Different crew qualities would be nice effect aswell. Maybe add national characteristics to the crew. French crew might be better at sailing, British at reloading etc.
  19. This, Plus removing the historic ship names. Maybe keep them somewhere down in the discriptions when you buy or craft one. But thats enough for my taste.
  20. Of course I would prefer a system, where I can recruit or press my crew, need to get supplies and maintenance Material. All together with a promotion and experience system for my crew. But being a person who enjoys 2hrs of waiting in Silent Hunter or searching that single plane in Rise of Flight I knowmy wishes would be too hardcore and detailed for the not so sim-enthusiastic player. So I thought summing up all these costs in one package would be a nice alternative. You could enter Boni and Mali for certain crew qualities etc.
  21. Why not just use real time weather from the carribian? Maybe even simplified into three or four wind strenght. Flight simulators can do that. No need for a windshift mechanic then.
  22. Like I said introduce a crew-pack as some kind of "fuel" pack for your ships. Plan to stay on the sea for 10 game days, buy the appropriate amount of crew/maintenance packs. You rrun out ofvthem, you slowly start losing crew. If you want to replenish them after battle use them as another kind of repair kit. The amount needed, the price and the allowed maximum should depend on your ship. Crew packs could be crafted by barracks.
  23. Someone proposed before, to battle out the control for ports with more then one fight. I like this, because no timezone gets disadvantaged. I would keep the current flag system with the current timers. But instead of one big port-battle started in the open world introduce a button in the mission screen where it can be fought out in a best of three series by everybody who wants to join. The button is triggered by bringing the flag to the port as usual and stays up for 48hrs.
  24. I like the idea of just buying crew-packs similar to the "repair-kits". you Need x amount of them per day at sea and to fill up the ranks after a battle. Maybe offer them as a cheap common Version and a more expensive Version with a bonus on reloading time or something like this. Maybe you could even craft them if you introduce barracks for a new Kind of builing in your outpost.
  25. Make the ship deliveries happen in realtime. So it would replace the AI-shipping partially. Maybe reduce the Crew while they get transferred as well. If you could decide to smuggle "Contrabant" it would be even nicer.
