Would promote more pvp if players can get a money back, but for those that I know will say that this feature will get rid the thrill of the risk factor in the game.

Surrender should net the option to either loot the player ship of goods or capture the ship.

Id like to add that since she was at the battle of Trafalgar I do not see why it would be considered to old to put in the game.

Better organization for recruiting, right now it is all mess in the tavern recruitment threads getting lost in new topic posts

I think cannon loss should be a deciding factor whether or not to stay and fight also, but not to the point where you loose all your cannons in a few volley's

could light laterns sail for a minute one direction turn off laterns sail different direction.. could be used to dodge prey too

They can just use a chart like they did back then and have players chart their course. They should add degree's on the OW compass also

What purpose would that serve? Every nation would be able to read every other nations subforum so you couldn't post state secrets.
Ever heard of propoganda plus can server as a more organized means of recruiting.

In my NavyBrig I joined a battle where 4 humans in Surprises and 4 or 5 NPC's in frigates of my nation were trying to take down Three Vic's and 2 Cerbs - we got the Cerbs sunk real fast and finally one of the Vic's as well -- but finally all our NPC's were sunk and the humans had to leave to lick our wounds - leaving the two Vic's about 2/3 armour.
So I for one wouldn't kick an AI Vic out of
beder, the oceanSounds like a win to me... Not every battle has to be sink all and we win, I have sailed with Alex Connor in Trins in the past and we saw a fleet of 1st rates Bels and Trins and Connies we wen't in the battle with a goal to sink the Trins and connie but as the battle wen't on we found ourselves able to sink the Bellona and at least damage the 1st rates. Idk about you but I call that a win, we accomplished what we set out to do and actually wen't beyond. Same thing can be done with players if they are in a player/AI match.

Mr Doran's actions will come back and bite him in the rear, it isn't very wise to piss everyone off and make enemies.

Players are better than AI ships if players really wanted to attack a player that has AI escort they can and could probably win

Most ships have enough space on the stern to fit two names one for class of ship and the other what the captain named the ship.

You've put yourself in a situation where you have 5 ships shooting at you and you think you should be able to magically recover from this?
I didnt put myself in the position to a Ally was about to be tagged by someone in a ship 3 times as powerful as he so I tried to help and eventually 5 other enemies jumped in the battle.

How does crew morale affect the effectiveness of grapeshot? I doubt back then sailors were like I'm in a good mood flying metal pellets will not hurt me!

I think we should have the ability to heal our crew in a battle considering it doesn't take long to disable a ship crew wise. Specially if you have 5 enemy ships shooting at you.

A timer for the instance would be nice but then the immersion of never knowing when reinforcements arrive and have to high tail it out of their... With the way it is setup players still gain xp and gold even as a loss so I'm not sure i like the idea of a timer for battle instances..
