  1. dont get me started on the "tsesarevic" coddled ship... The Front "mounts" have been janked since the very start and never fixed... WHY can I easily fit double 5 and even 7 inch turrets o the back mounts... BUT I CANT EVEN FIT DOUBLE 4 INCHERS on the front mounts!! WHY IS THIS AN ISSUE?? PLease why can't someone edit this poor stricken ship to be the PROUD tumblehome pre-dread it deserves to be!
  2. Sooo his is something that, one would think.. is a bog standard setting for games going back to the dawn of time... Civilization, Masters of Orion, hearts of Iron, Stellaris... They all have this feature... Why not UAD? Country name: Ship Type: Flag: Ruler: Location: It would SEEM basic.. but why is this not in the game? Cant I play in Japans location, with French ship hulls, and name myself "The Holy Bishonen Empire" ? :3
  3. this is a good question... I was talking about this with friends just the other day.. I was talking about making ships of certain types to force the AI to use them... and someone mentioned that the AI uses your designs as "guidelines" and will make ships "inspired" by them... is this true? if so... wants the point of making ships? I want the AI to use MY Design...not something randomly generated
  4. As someone that loves to use the Tumblehome ships.... Why are we punished for getting better guns? It is a genuine crime that as you get more advanced turrets... you are prevented from mounting them on Tumblehome ships... A large Pre-Dread that I can fit six double 12 inch (old) turrets? nice the turrets become more "advanced" the biggest gun I can add... are 9inchers... thats it.... WHY CAN WE NOT CHOOSE? Why do we not get a drop down menu to pick what turret male we have? We can do that with EVERY other system!! Older Armor? older engines? of course! Older guns? NIEN!!!

  7. I cannot echo this enough. Virtually EVERY other component in the game has a drop down menu to choose the level you want. from level one Iron armor, to level 9 compound Krupp... ... but not guns... it is infuriating to upgrade a well balanced ship only to find that half of its guns no longer "fit" because your are forced to upgrade to the most recent gun design. please give us control over this to use older gun models!
  8. another note... How hard is it to simply give us OPTIONS to turn certain things ON or OFF? Weather? ON/OFF Forced Alliances? ON/OFF Forced Battles? ON/OFF I can list many more.. but I honestly wish there was a reason why more such features didn't have very basic choices for us to say YES or NO
  9. if you run from battle, AND you have MORE ships than the opponent, you should incur heavy Point loss. The amount of times I go against a fleet of, like, 30 TB or 50DD with say a dozen CA or BC's ..... And NEVER track down a single ship is maddening. If the Ai flees with a superior force.... they should "lose" the battle and lose points its not just you, VP are based on Tech and Cost. As such sinking 20 cheap AF cruisers from 1890 will net you maybe 100 points, meanwhile loosing one Advanced High cost CL can lose you 3000 points. Case in point, I went on a transport attack and lost a single CL that was apparently worth almost 3000points. Thats almost three times the VP points I got for sinking an enemy BB. Its absurd because it means the game currently PUNISHES you for teaching up and keeping your ships outfitted with new Technology.
  10. is there a way to edit it so it prevents you and the AI from getting NEW Hulls past a certain point? I am look at this and thinking it could work as a foundation for my desire to have an "Eternal Pre-Dread" mod :3

  12. The only hurt I've had is the cruel taunts against the glory and Sexiness of the French Tumblehomes! A world of eternal pre-dreads will sure forth a golden age of massive wacky ship battles on a titanic scale!

I wish there was more "option" menus.. thing to give us control to edit or change things "Storms strength light -> heavy" "Storm frequency, few -> many" "Visibility, low -> high" just , things like that. shoot , options for picking things like gun version, instead of being forced to always pick the most advanced gun state.
  14. a somewhat related question, in terms of making a "new" nation... is there anyway to edit / swap what ships a country uses? so...like.. Japan is using French ships?
  15. AHOY EVERYONE! Ardent fan of the game, as well as ardent critic (which is what I imagine brings many of us to a place like this) Found this place a few days ago after talking to friends on the Drachinfel Discord, and had to immediately join up! :3 I want to start by saying, I am not a modder, sadly I wish I was one, but such skills have never been in my grasp. That said, I love the game, but more specifically, I love the age of the pre-dreadnoughts, when wacky designs were thick and plentiful, and battles were often close range brawls. When Battleships looked more like porcupines encrusted with guns pointing in every direction! Sadly.. the tie of the Pre-dread passes quickly.... and even with upgrades, Hulls go obsolete and fade from time... so..... I thought.. What if we changed this? BEHOLD! MY IDEA FOR AN ERA OF ETERNAL PRE-DREADS!!! 1: HULLS NEVER GO OBSOLETE Simple enough, old hulls never go away, and a design from 1890 can be built "brand new" in 1940 2: NO NEW HULLS PAST DREADNOUGHT-2 Naturally to preserve the very idea of "eternal Pre-dreads" the restriction of modern classes is required. The Dread-1 and Dread-2 would be the "Super Cap Ship" of this mod. late game it can take over two years to build a 'modern battleship'. Most pre-dreads can be built in 12 months or less depending on tech. 3: NO BATTLECRUISERS PERIORD Since BC's tend to start fairly large, and very quickly pass the size of early Dreads, their elimination would further cement the 'Eternal Pre-Dread' setting. 4: NO GUNS PAST MK-2 Once guns upgrade into Mk-3 or Mk-4, they tend to change into a 'modern' appearance. the square boxy shapes often make them incompatible with most pre-dread mounts, especially those on French and Russian warships. Ideally this would be for guns from 5 inches on up, as smaller guns get the condensed 3 and 4 barrel upgrades. 5: TORP RANGES DRASTICALLY REDUCED Clearly to prevent the AI from going hard Torp Spam, and keeping your ships destroyed by Torps from they can't even See.... Top Ranges would be deeply nerfed. 6: POSSIBLE SUPER VERSION OF PRE-DREAD SHIPS A friend of mine who IS a modder, and loves doing silly stuff, made a couple "super" versions of some French pre-dreads. An idea for still offering much large Hull designs for 1920, 30 and 40, would be modified hulls from the Pre-Dreads.
