  1. I see as the game goes on the time between months increases. Did your game stick after a country was 'eliminated'?
  2. I get way too many spam calls lately, a large range of them. Latest was the spam of legal action against me. I've had the IRS, my computer is infected, Amazon, now this one.
  3. I think there were other things to work on then this flaw system which obviously wasn't ready to roll out.
  4. I don't understand that 250 VP per turn either. In three campaigns as the US (doing restarts as I learn about things), been at war with Russia twice before 1900. One time I earned the 250, the other he did. I'm not sure where those points are even coming from. Makes no sense. Side note, so far, in all three campaigns, Russia is at war with almost everyone by 1896. The only reason I'm not at war with Russia in the latest one is I'm still building up my fleet (started with 0 ships to see if I could construct a full fleet). Just humorous to see everyone at war with Russia.
  5. I don't mind a few flaws, its the amount of flaws that is tiresome. Take a look at what people are doing to get around them. They wouldn't be doing that if the amount of flaws was lower. And a lot of these work arounds, if you are trying to play like a normal nation would, you wouldn't be building a dozen ships to get a couple of good ones. The triggering for flaws needs to be reworked a bit. I'm for keeping flaws, adds a new, realistic dynamic, its just gone overboard.
  6. I kinda like that, gives it a sense I'm not just reliving the same wars with the same allies.
  7. Maybe its just me, but flaws are sucking the fun out of the game. Refits don't appear to be doing anything to help. Building a ship design that's 5 years old shouldn't have two pages of flaws, its not new technology. Just seems like the chance for flaws is too high while reducing said flaws is too low.
  8. Some people the devs will never please. And this is why I auto-resolve all battles in the campaign, so I don't feel like a cheater.
  9. I will admit, playing the campaign I always auto resolve. That's because I feel as if I'm playing as the Secretary of the Navy, not a fleet admiral.
  10. Can you change the names of individual ships?
  11. I've come across this one now several times and I think I now know the conditions for it. First, you're transports must be at 200%. Second, your growth must be shrinking. If these two conditions are met you're naval budget will shrink even if your GDP is growing. This is four months while playing Britain in 1896, no ships were added, built, no changes to research, crew or transport sliders, all ships were in limited, and no events popped up. Month Growth GDP Budget 1 +4.8018 25,996,200,000 90,133,830 2 +4.5504 26,088,110,000 89,976,620 3 +3.9269 26,169,290,000 89,803,340 4 +3.2361 26,240,270,820 89,620,820 Even though my growth was positive, and GDP was growing my budget was shrinking. Yes my growth did shrink from month to month, but it was still a positive growth. I was able to work around it by setting my transport slider all the way to 0 for a a turn (or two) and then slowing add more transports again which reversed this trend until I got to 200% again. Just seems like something is wrong with the mathematical formula here. If my growth is positive and my GDP is growing my budget should not be shrinking.
  12. You're GDP can increase and your monthly budget can decrease. I just watched it happen on the game I was playing. Numbers for 4 months: Oct 1896: GDP 25,996,200,000 Budget 90,133,830 Tot Exp 69,786,220 Nov 1896: GDP 26,088,110,000 Budget 89,976,620 Tot Exp 69,749,070 Dec 1896: GDP 26,169,290,000 Budget 89,803,340 Tot Exp 69,698,270 Jan1897: GDP 26,240,270,000 Budget 89,620,820 Tot Exp 69,637,520 There were no ships under construction, no changes no events effecting economics (I actually had no events during this stretch), no war, no refits, all ships in limited, no ships moved, tech and crew at 100% and shipping at 200%. It also said for all four months the naval percentage was 3.97%. All I was doing was hitting next month. Despite the fact the GDP was growing my budget was being slashed more and more each month while expenditures were only slightly decreasing. Something in the economic system is messed up and I have no way to fix it. If my GDP was not increasing and in the red, I'd understand it a bit more, still be a bit pissed there was nothing I could do, but more reasonable.
  13. The economics of the game needs some tweaking. I either saw it wrong, or maintenance continues to go up each year even if you're not changing a thing making it so you start losing money each turn. Makes it difficult to create a large fleet to counter some AI fleets.
  14. Okay, been playing a bit as Germany now in the campaign and come across two 'bugs'. First, if I play historical by the end of 1890 Britain and Germany are headed to war no matter what I do. Starting about August or September relations just show a -9 each turn. Second, this one takes time to get to but I think it needs to have the transports in economy at 200%, and then have a fleet of about 80 ships. Each successive turn my budget reduces even if the economy is positive. Haven't figured out why it goes down when a few turns earlier it was going up and nothing changed except adding a few more ships. (And the budget was increasing while those ships were being built).
  15. I will admit, in the campaign I always auto-resolve the battles. I view myself as the Secretary of the Navy, not Fleet Admiral. I think even if I viewed myself as Fleet Admiral I'd pick one battle to do the rest auto-resolve as even an admiral can't be present at every battle. Just my quirk while playing.
  16. Been playing the campaign, I like playing Germany and starting in 1890. My fleet is in port, not being aggressive as far as I can tell. And yet, around month 8, there is always a sudden, dramatic turn of relationship with Britain. -9 or 10 per month until we're at war. Something feels broken as I've now done this with about 5 campaigns. It shouldn't be that repeatable. Gets frustrating knowing that by the first month or two of 1891 I'm at war with Britain.
  17. I'm just getting back into the game. But task forces confuse me. I don't get them at all. Even less sense during peacetime. Does someone have a good video or something explaining them?
  18. No to carriers. It just wouldn't work in the current battle format. Personally, I dislike carriers in RtW2. Its a great game until aircraft come along then it bogs down.
  19. Just curious, is the game starting to move to being too complex for designing a ship? Personally, yes. I've always thought with a game there is a fine line between being too complex and too simple. It just feels like its starting to move to the too complex. I know a lot of people want all these tweaks and being able to do this and that. We must remember that to survive the game needs players to play and buy it. For that many new players if they don't understand probably won't move to the forum or a video to understand what this or that does. If they get frustrated they will probably move on to the next game. I've made a lot of videos, on break due to personal issues, but I've noticed most enjoy not me designing the ships, but the fighting. I enjoy designing ships, but I also realize a lot don't. If we want a larger player base, I do think this needs to be looked at to avoid frustrations. We want a fun game, not one where a player is trying 30 minutes to make a balanced design just to play the game.
  20. Pretty sure its just me, but I'm just having a hard time grasping the concept of what to actually do with them. And they seem pretty pointless in peacetime. Is there any in depth guide/video focusing on the ins and outs of this mechanic.
  21. Its interesting, for me (almost exclusively use autoresolve) I find ships sunk happens, maybe, 1 out of 3-4 battles for either side. Most smaller battles usually only end up with ships damaged. The only way for me to avoid that is go easy mode and take over and do the battles.
  22. I use auto resolve almost exclusively. I win and lose, thought usually win a bit more than lose. I find it more challenging and not easy mode by taking control of the battle.
  23. I will admit, when this happens to me its usually MY fault. My TB fired at long range because, well, that's what they do if you are not watching. So when they finally get into range, they are still reloading. The second is I've forgotten to return the torp to normal or aggressive and missed my chance. So I do wonder how much is AI and how much is player fault.
  24. You are also making it so the AI doesn't run away right from the start of the battle. The only way to make it so you can have a good engagement now is if you're ship is faster than the AI ships. Everything with the AI seems to be maximum range, many times out of visual sight as well.
  25. At the moment the campaigns are only UK vs. Germany in war. Once peace happens its over. You have several start dates. After you beat 1890 start you get 1900 then 1910, etc. I'm looking forward to the full campaign going from 1890 to 1940.
