  1. Welcome In my limited experience. Joining a clan is really first thing to do. Can learn so much. As I’m sure you will be advised it’s a good idea to do the tutorials and try to pass exams. Good luck. Cheers 🍻
  2. I’m a noobie. So I am gradually building up my XP by various means. Trading, delivering cargo and passages. Some engagements. Plenty of improvement required. Not of course helped by the low ranking of ship I can at present use in combat. But I am happy to stand and fight on occasions. Even if it’s for a short time. If I start to get to shot up, I will try to run. But I still get XP points for fighting. I have been in Port. Looking to come out and deliver two lots of cargo. Two lots of passengers. So I always click on leave Port. But before set sails. I have a good look round to see no gankers hanging around. If so, why would I look to leave the Port. Common sense says to wait ! Sorry if gankers don’t like this. I can assure them. Once I have more XP, larger frigate I will be happy to engage them. Bring it on ! Sometimes, I will also check out an area around the Port before leaving by using a cutter. Leave the safety of the Port knowing I will only lose a cutter if enemies around. Surly this is all part of NA. If your a big boy I would expect you to use your strengths. I’m not at that stage yet so have to use my wits to raise to a higher level. I personally have no problem with gankers. It’s an open world after all. Made of up all sorts of people. At the moment I am, even if I say so myself becoming good at sailing, using my wits and the wind direction to get to where I want to go and to survive. I’m sure this will come in useful as I move up the ranks. Those playing NA have the own preference on how and what they do for enjoyment. See nothing wrong with that. Cheers all 🍻
  3. I’m ok with the present setup. If some get their “fix”by picking on us noobies, that’s ok with me. It does make me be extra vigilant. What goes around comes around ! Cheers 🍻
  4. As a Noobie. I feel there is enough to get my head round as it is. Don’t get me wrong. I knew what to expect and I am enjoying it. But this sounds drastic. But I am speaking as a noobie
  5. Cheers guys. Felt a twit asking ! I know what an AI is. That makes sense Cheers
  6. Must admit when I joined, I was surprised to hear the term “clan”. It just isn’t right
  7. Hi, Can you advise the release date please. Does it cover 2019 new release date. Noobies really need up to date info. Thank you.
  8. Hi, Only just saw your post. But you are not alone. I am having the same problem. At the moment with combat. Other issues too. But this is one of my top priorities. Regards
  9. Hi, Whilst there is a lot of available from members on here. How much is relevant to the 2019 release ? In particularly for me. Up to date help and guidance on combat. Forgive if I’m wrong. If so would welcome where I can find guidance of combat based on the 2019 release. I am ok (I think) on sailing etc. From practice. But combat is difficult to practice. I could do with 2019 details on combat controls etc. I have keyed in for guides and what’s available seems out of date now. My apologies if it is there and I have missed it. If so would appreciate where the info can be found. Best wishes
  10. I totally agree the learning curve on NA is not too bad. It’s the lack of official help. But so far thanks to the forum and for me even more so from the Nation when playing, questions that crop up are kindly and quickly answered by players. I’m sure sometimes questions from myself or others must seem simple. But the answers come back quickly. Without this help it would be far more difficult.
  11. Hi, Re inventory. Would need to get back to you on port bonuses books and mods. Need to be on NA to remind myself. But my ships do vary. From memory one has a speed bonus. One has a much larger hold. I have purchased books to ‘aid’ me. I have 18 guns on some and 26 on others. I am torn between playing NA and completing the tutorials and exam. Because I am well aware of the bonuses will get from passing. I have been lucky in following behind a clan member and saw sometimes he took a longer route from a to b due to the wind direction which was very useful to learn. No problem on my comments re game speed when engaged. I have not known any different so if it helps you in your goal to improve the game. That’s fine. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have of me being a noobie. As I can appreciate my answers may well differ from a player with experience. On UG. I am confident of my ability. I am happy to help the newbies (so called on UG) with questions they have. Some of which seem basic to me, just because of my experience playing UG. So by all means feel free to ask questions. I will be happy to reply as best I can. Cheers 🍻
  12. Hi, I’m a 2nd lieutenant. Half way to reach lieutenant. I’m up to 46 hours game time I have 8 outposts, with at least 1 ship in each. 6th Rank. All various Traders. I can use up-to 120 crew. I’m ok on the inventory gap. Though must admit not looked past 5 and 4 ranks. I have the money but not the rank/man power yet. I would of course like to be able to use at least a 5th ranked ship. But not unduly concerned. Completing the tutorial and passing the exam would be a big help. I have started and will try to spend more time on that. Though I have been warned it’s a difficult one to pass. But I enjoy the open waters too. When in an engagement I still feel I’m a novice and fight like one ! Still getting used to having to think quicker. (In UG can pause). I feel I need more combat experience. I like it that I do get XP points when been in combat. I have yet to win an engagement. But have inflicted damage on occasions. Then decided to run ! I am very competitive in any battle. But do not yet feel confident as I would in a UG battle. But I believe it will come with time. At the moment I am thinking what to do. Which keys to use etc rather than fighting on auto pilot. If that make sense. Regards
  13. As a Noobie. Today is the 3rd week I have been playing. So for what it's worth. I am happy with the way things are. (However, I am aware I don't know all the ins and outs and do not comment on a number of issues raised as I don't yet know about them). Yes, Its a steep learning curve. I have been sunk a lot etc. But I would expect that. I'm new ! If the game was easy, I would not find it so enjoyable. There are games out there for those who want just action. This goes deeper. In time I hopefully expect to rise through the ranks. Gain experience. To help Noobies I would suggest they be encouraged to join a clan. Within a clan they will find players of varying experience (so I have discovered). Some newer than me ! I would suggest trying to go it alone will have the effect of turning noobies away from the game. There is plenty of advice on this site. But from my little experience, something crops up when in open waters or just in port. Its then much easier just to ask the clan or nation for help. I don't have to wait long before some kind person provides the info. I understand to move forward the game requires new players to join and stay. To do so offer help and encouragement. Not just on the forum where there is a lot of useful advice. But when playing the game. I am loving it. Yes, it's annoying when get ganked. But to me that's part of the game. I read a lot about NA before joining. I discovered it as it's on the same forum as UG, where I first started. So I was aware it would not be easy. Cheers all
  14. Thanks. I will. I have done the Gunnery and sailing then got way laid. Will get back to it. Cheers 🍻
  15. Hi Many thanks. I will start to do so Cheers 🍻
  16. So I have now been playing NA 2 weeks last Saturday. There are ups and downs for me of course. But I’m loving it. I know there is a lot of talk on what updates or not should be made. No doubt at some time I may comment. I am pleased to advise I was able to join a Clan in my first week. I have learned so much from the members of the Clan. Some are experienced others joined after me. Nation members on line. Of course here too. Thanks to the help from Clan members. I have an idea of what’s going on. As everyone says it’s a steep learning curve. But I’m getting there. I have progressed to a 2nd lieutenant. I’m looking forward to learning more skills and gradual progression. I thought UG was good. But this raises the bar much higher. Best wishes all. Cheers 🍻 PS. Anyone know where can buy a parrot 🦜. 😉
  17. The more battles you play the more you will learn. I also have my own ideas on how to defeat the enemy in regards to type of troops used. I am much in favour of the good old fashioned infantryman. In all my battles I probably have a higher ratio of infantry to cavalry and artillery, than others. But it works for me (most times I hope). I am always open to ideas. But feel I have a method that works for me. Regards
  18. I realize would be a mammoth task. But, (don't tell anyone). I have for the last 2 weeks been playing Naval Action. The open world is amazing ! Maybe in the future. when you have a free year or so. This could be achieved for UG. Regards
  19. Its not easy, But I try to anticipate what I will require when go back to Camp during multi day battles. Have weapons etc ready and waiting. Good luck. Regards
  20. Hi, So far gone across to Santanillas. Even picked up points for that ! Will look to move further. Cheers
  21. I am pleased to advice Naval Action purchased/downloaded. Will start ‘getting into it’ tomorrow. ( I’m aware it will take time). 🍻
  22. Thanks. Appreciate the heads up 👍
  23. Thank you. Will actually be a few days till join. But it will be His Majesty’s Royal Navy. Regards
