Admiralty pvp events work with no bugs and allow us to implement another feature that we wanted to add long ago. Such defined pvp zones with no AI provide interesting options to reward OW battles before and during port battles (screening rewards).

For example. 1.5 hours before port battle starts and 1.5 hrs during port battles all kills in the PB harbor and vicinity count to leaderboards and provide rewards to those who intercept fleets and sink stragglers. In case port battle does not happen due to large fleets intercepted players will be rewarded for such successful interceptions.

I am mostly an Interceptor/Screener and like the idea. If the Area around the harbour is similar to the current pvp events and the leaderboard means the same as the currenty system, then I would like to see it in game.

Of course number of players on the leaderboards should be increased in this case.

I am not sure if points from OW action (for kills) should be added (influence) port battles themselves. But it could also be an interesting mechanic which might eliminate all friction that arise because of instanced PB. (some players suggested many times that PB could be a series of battles in the harbor - not one decisive battle).

I am not sure, either. But it feels good, so i want a chance for this to come into the game

BUT - like much of the others - I also absolutely agree that is very important to reactivate the screening mechanic by stopping the logout and login problem in front of the harbour. I know the devs say "players must be able to logout if real life calls". And that could be, but then please implement another mechanic to prevent that these players cant be intercepted by the screening fleet. Otherwise screening is senseless. Maybe give them a 15 Minutes time based debuff countdown to prevent joining a PB after logging in or something.

A little story from the game experience: I wanted to help my nation in the Port Battle. Most nations do the logout/login thing because a win is nearly impossible if the PB fleet has been intercepted (after pb starts, just some minutes to join). The leaders says we need to do that and that means I have to logout and stop playing NA and wait in TS for the command to login when the PB entry is open. So i dont like to play a PB with such a need.

What does it means to the game?: PB Players dont like that and the sense of screening has been killed.

And now the bridge to the Topic: If screening is senseless, the screening rewards are also senseless i fear.

I really like the changes until the following..

    • ROE changes. We believe that the final ROE should be a combination of the old roe and new 2 circles system. But with adjustments.
    • Social perk will return for testing in another form - allowing entry to the weaker side until the battle is balanced.

    - Why changing ROE? Dont see any need 4 that.

    - Please no comeback 4 the worst Perk ever

    just my 2 cents

  4. You have 3 blocks now.. number of nations is irrelevant with alliances.

Pirate republic acts as a republic.

Because naval action is a sandbox players have all the tools to stop the piracy.

My feeling is that pirate life is no different than a life as a Captain in the Navy because Navy lets them.

Bring this difference to the game and make them hard to play BY YOUR ACTIONS.

Control gold supply, control materials for ships of the line, control trade routes. Keep them in Inagua. It will be impossible to build anything.

To rephrase Kennedy. Don't ask what others can do about the pirates, Ask yourself what you can do about the pirates. If you do nothing they will sail lineships.

I am opening the game map and see the Pirate "Nation" with black spots on the map. That kills my immersion.

They should have a hideout like the Thread Opener says.

Yes we all can figth the rats and reduce them to one port, but that feels like a fight against a nation, not against a real pirates.

I dont wanna know where they are (exept their hideout was discovered) and when they come and how they are organised.

Its alI a question about immersion immersion immersion and realism :)

  5. If the DEVs start to ban those danish guys, they need to take a look to the last months.

When they do this and ban all players, who are using this game weakness, then i fear the server

would be loose much pb players. I am not really a PB Player but I heard so often that this weakness was used

    by several nations. So..

calm down and hope the devs find a solution.

Edit: Dont know why the devs dont move the spawn point outside the circle of the harbour (fixed points or random) and just dont allow to logout there?!

  6. i mentioned in the dev patch thread the following idea.....

"I would Love to See some ideas for the pirate gameplay. Something like that.

    1. the Pirates are no Nation anymore and have no cities.

    2. you will be known as single pirate or as member of a Clan.

    3. as a pirate you can enter in every city. But only in cities from a Nation who is friendly to you.

    4. a nation is not friendly when you or your clan gain to many hostility points by hunting or capping ships from this Nation.

    5. if you are hostile to a nation you can achieve a better realationship by activities against the Nations Enemy. For example if britain hates you and is at war with france and you kill French ships, your hostility Level will reduce slowly for britain.

    6. pirate clans can establish a hideout. They can found in on the map by themself. Its like the clanwarehouse. You can refit and repair but you cant craft ships.

    7. if a Nation find the hideout then they can attack and destroy it.

    8. mortimer town will change to a free town (for the purpose nobody lost his stuff)

    9. pirates can craft in every City they can enter.

    10. a Nation can decide by vote to give all pirates amnesty or declare all pirates to enemys. So it is dangerous to have all your stuff in a nations City.

    11. in the OW your hostile Status will be shown to a nations player so he can decide to Attack or not. But he can attack even if you are friendly.

Ps: or maybe Pirates can not craft but capping ships with Full dur!"

"Admin you mentioned that youre worried about that many pirate player Are happy about the actual Situation. My idea is you can split the faction into 2 and we can choose on which side we want to go ahead. the one side will remain as the so called republic of nassau and we can call them Buccaneers or something instead of pirates and the other side will continue as "real" pirates.

You can avoid the problem about the possibility of the "real" Pirates by attackin eachother and then hiding in battle by not closing this battle. If 2 outlaws choose to fight against eachother everybody should be able to join so Nobody can hide"

I really like this ideas and they make the pirate gameplay more unique.

I never understood why the devs bring pirates as a nation into the game. We already have much nations, why we need one more?

For my feelings a Pirate Life is so much diffenrent then a Life as a Captian in the Navy. Bring this difference to the game and make the rats something special

    and hard to play.

  7. right. I have much ships, much money and all will be lost when the game release comes.

And i doesnt care about that. Starting a new "campain" sounds intersting in my ears.

And yes: I have a job, i have family, a house and i think its not the problem

to rebuild my new fleet after release. But i am very happy about not loosing XP, coz i hate to level up :)

BTT: I love to feel the patch is so close. But that is really needed. The player count on my server reached a critical level the last weeks.

  8. Yep, that was our first time to fight with such numbers and ships. Only few of us know how to use first rates, for the others it was their first time. But we'll improve our skills and come back ;)

And exactly this behavior is the difference between PODW and SORRY. Both clans are enemies of us (sverige) and both attacked us in serveral times.

Much swedes are saying PODW is a gentleman clan and earned our respect in Game and because of such statements in forum. On the other hand LV and his SORRY clan just earned disrespect because of their behavior everywhere. Most negativ example is LV itself. So one thing is absolutely clear to me: If i see a fight PODW vs SORRY i would immediately join PODW even they are or enemies.

All in All: If I would be a pirate (which never will happen^^) I would join PODW and never ever SORRY

  9. Building Sub-Groups can bring much more tactics into a fight. You can do it today, but seldom used by raids because it needs very good command structure and captains who can follow commands. Building such groups also needs a more complex structure in TS (If ts is used), not every raid leader likes that. BUT i like the idea to support "Building Battle Squads" by coloured  flags (and in group window). Those who are able to build groups and use this feature, could be a very effective raid. But all depends on if and how they use it.
