  1. It might be dumb, it might not be dumb, that depends on ones perspective; but so far there's an indication that the majority are overwhelmingly in favour of peace, so at this present moment of time, your assumption is incorrect.
  2. Might indeed be correct in such regard- But asking in global or even national chat is hardly a viable option, and so this seems far better- Besides, surely if they do not frequent the forums, and as a result lose out on information, it's their own fault, no?
  3. Yes but that was bound to come from one or another side on the matter, but hey- The poll is there purely to see what the majority would prefer, I must say though.. I find it quite peculiar how some are talking against having the poll in itself, most peculiar indeed, at least from my perspective, certainly isn't as if I have gone through a lengthy argument here to support either side.
  4. To reduce sweden to one port and maintain that would be a big indication for the developers to improve things in regards to that, or that's how I view it at least- Certainly seems more likely for them to be forced to do something about it if one nation is kept to one port for a lengthy period of time,- Than for ports to swap hands repeatedly and status quo achieved, one could certainly argue that the latter points to a lack of problems.
  5. If that's how you feel, then don't contribute as much time as you can to it by for example posting, seems the sane option considering your feelings on the matter, no?
  6. I am an independant captain, I fly Danebrog for king and country- Not for admirals or clans, but I find it far better for an indication of where all stand, rather than an indication of where the clans alone stand.
  7. Not to mention a natural enemy for us! But yes, I agree completely with you.
  8. Not at all, if you read the post you'll see who I'm asking to participate in the poll; it's a survey to acquire the opinions of those 'few', though of course, I can't prevent anyone from other nations of voting, but it's still the better option than asking in the chat, it allows everyone a chance to voice their opinion.
  9. Hear ye, hear ye- All danish-norwegian and swedish captains are called in for a vote; whom among you support the fragile peace, and whom disagree with it? Let us have your opinions now gentlemen, and then- Should the poll come out in favour of peace, let us all settle for that and avoid the topic in the future. Though surely, if the poll comes out against the peace, then we know that it is destined to be broken in the near future, for surely- If the majority wishes something, the majority will have it, or fail in the attempt to seize it. I vigorously place my mark upon the warring side. Edit: spelling.
  10. Though I should certainly cry out in outrage and fury at a danish ship falling to your guns, I can't help but smirk a bit considering who it was that fell to you, either way- I hope the match was a blast for all involved!
  11. Make a poll for it! Let's have some actual numbers!
  12. Bitter man, sour and tired, often laughs and blames; he should of know, but he knows it not, he’s not without fault. Of abilities you should never brag, be instead cautious with your wit; when man wise with few words come to visit, it rarely goes him wrong. Both from Håvamål.
  13. It's exploitation of game mechanics in order to acquire an advantage over others.
  14. I am truly glad to see that I'm not the only one violently opposing the treaty, I find myself most ashamed, even embarrassed on behalf of Denmark-Norway recently, two days ago some of the big clans began handing out our ports to the dutch, it breaks my heart to see dutch flags where the danish should fly- Of course, they claim such to be in order to set the defense timer, though honestly such just makes it all the worse in my eyes.
  15. Perhaps so, but to remember a single person, as the whole clan is hardly the same thing.
  16. Oooh, I think I remember that fight- Last night around.. 22:00 or so, correct? Three swedes against myself and Danishviking; that was a glorious fight, felt it as quite a shame however that the three swedes kept trying to retreat- At least it looked like that from my deck.-.. Also, I must admit that I am somewhat baffled at being mentioned here, but.. There's a first time for everything I suppose! Hardly fair however to claim it as clan Raker, when it was but me and one fella from it.
  17. There will be no peace as far as I am concerned, you'll be battled, tooth and nail my good man.
  18. I agree completely with handing back some territories, it is neither fun for them or us, when sweden only has one city, but there's certainly a difference between allowing them a chance to rebuild, and handing back most of thhe ports, I firmly believe that to hand back the stretch between plymouth and Baai, to be a big mistake.
  19. I'll gladly come as a group, but as said, I am no longer sparing any swede I have the chance to take, from cutters to constitutions, on mission or doing trade- Neither will have any quarters from me.
  20. Yesterday evening I spent some time down at plymouth, attacking AI fleets with the swedes, most honoured the peace and friendly banter was plenty; no agression was given towards swedes or danes as far as I could tell, and certainly not by me. However, at around 21:00 I sailed my surprise towards the North north west of plymouth, in order to head back towards Christiansted, only to have a frigate from HRE and some unclanned fella in a surprise attack me, though this is supposedly no violation of the peace, it certainly sits wrong with me, especially so as I had settled on leaving swedes in peace. As a result of this battle, and my surprise sinking, I am now determined to forsake all parts of this treaty, I will not honour as much as a word, I will harrass, delay and attack swedes, wherever and whenever I see the oppertunity, and further I urge all other danes and norwegians to do the same. Furthermore the treaty in itself is in the wrong, the scales are uneven, and delivers vastly more back to the swedes than it secures for the danish norwegian empire. Where is the logic, in allowing them back that many ports? Where is the sense in letting the capitulated and defeated dictate terms? For the very life of me I cannot see any sound judgement behind all of this, the danish "diplomats",- And I use the term loosely, should at the very least have made certain to keep all the settlements on the stretch between Baai and Plymouth. While I realize that the big clans are behind all of this, and me- As a Kaptajn without a clan have "little" to say, I dare proclaim that if I, and all others likeminded proceed to once more resume the disruption against the swedes, the peace will not last for long, and further- As things are at present time, I can assure you all that such is my exact intentions.
  21. I agree completely with you in regards to the spyglass, I'd love it if it was something that was crafted, or acquired from the shop or something of the sort, so that some are better than others- Perhaps giving more information than other ones depending on how good the quality of it is. I think this would add more to the game.
  22. Perhaps so, but the guns are both larger and longer than a hand, at least so if you use long guns like I tend to, but of course! You might very well be right, it's just my cents really.
  23. Added the options, but I don't see how they're needed, I mean.. No suggestion is really -essential- is it? Fair enough, doesn't seem like a reasonable reason to not have the ability to adjust them though, I mean.. Doesn't most ships have gunports with lids and all? And logically speaking, shouldn't they have lids? Seems like they might easily be unseaworthy with such a shortage, but hey, that might just be me!
  24. If you have the gunports open and the guns pushed out of the ship, then this will work against the wind,- as in create more resistance against the wind you're sailing, not by a lot I grant you, but it'd certainly be somewhat present, hence why I suggest a -small- increase to speed from having them closed. I agree though, the primary purpose is likely to prevent the guns to being exposed to too much salt water, and well- Keep the water out in general, but I still think it'd be a nice little thing to see in the game.
  25. Greetings, I realize this has probably been suggested in the past, but I’d like to throw in my cents on the matter. I believe we need implement a spyglass when we’re on the world map, perhaps one that you purchase for gold, this would be both sensible and reasonable considering the state of navigation at the present time (I adore how we can’t see ourselves on the map). To have a spyglass might also add somewhat to the immersion of the game, and certainly ease the navigation, at least a little bit- After all.. You might spot land from a greater distance if you have such a thing, and if you spot land you can work out a rough estimate of where you are. The second thing I’d like to suggest is the ability to open and close the gunports on our ship, this might not appear as a big deal, but it does have an element of pure awesome to it, there you are- Sailing up alongside a trader or enemy- And suddenly you open your gunports and the cannons slide out- The showman in me can’t help but adore such a thought. Such a suggestion would not be purely for show however, one could add a small increase to speed from traveling with them closed, after all- Cannons slid out of the ship will cause more drag resistance against the wind, and therefore slow you down in comparison to the other guy. So yes, these are my two suggestions, and why I'd like to see them added. Please vote on the poll.
