  1. I have limited to no skill with graphics and I am looking to the Naval Action community to help me out. I'd like a new banner made for my group Excalibur for our website as well as a signature for myself. Is there anyone in the community willing to help me? Excalibur does take its name from the Arthurian legend of King Arthur. We will be playing other games such as Star Citizen, Camelot Unchained, and Crowfall so we don't necessarily want it Age of Sail themed. Something with an awesome sword thats a mix of both Arthurian era and Sci Fi looking would be fantastic if at all possible. As for my signature. Again an awesome sword but one perhaps tinged with frost or a frosty looking background. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  3. I am not sure yet. Will have to see what the limit is. EXL XCLBR eX Are all on the table. We will be setting up shop in the Tattered Flag TS3 server to better coordinate with our fellow Nation members. Any tags you think look good throw them out there.
  4. Please do not this. Let us test it from a clean wipe. Don't artificially speed up our progress.
  5. One character per account. Only way to have a Nation system... Sure someone could buy a second account but hey that makes you guys some extra money towards development. Remove Neutral Nation unless you can make them super unique. Special trading ship, bonuses to crafting, can be mercs for other nations, can fly false flag for a limited duration, ect. If they aren't unique they aren't needed.
  6. We are part of the US Nation on PvP 2 USA We are in need a graphic artists as my skills only go so far as you can tell. We are also looking for dedicated ship builders. I will mention that we have a somewhat strange recruitment process. Our application is based on the corporate recruitment strategy known as Mission to Mars only modified to suit our needs. Instead of finding a group of people who have the same values and creating a core group around those (which is the traditional Mission to Mars) we've already set our community culture and our application process lets us see if an applicant has the same values we do in terms of gaming. That is to say that we will take a set of like-minded values for how a PvP community should be run and find ONLY people who embody those principals. This allows us to be lean and efficient. Think of it as Match.com for PvPers. It is our intention to remain a small tight-nit community within Naval Action. We will only have the bare minimum required to enjoy the endgame mechanics of Naval Action.

  8. I think Sharpe summarized what most people are talking about in regards to Pirates. This isn't a nerf pirates debate it's a make pirates unique and fun to play in their own right don't make them a nation with a fancy flag. That's boring and dull and doesn't really make them pirates.I would wait a few days before we say the poll represents the community. It hasn't even been up for more than a few hours. Lots of active community members have yet to see it.

  10. Right but this thread was created about friendlies pulling each other into battles outside of ports. Let's keep it on topic so perhaps something will come of it instead of going into separate while similar topics of enemies pulling you into battle outside Harbor with different tactics and being pulled into combat in the open sea by both enemy and friend.
  11. Ya Id agree with that. The treasure fleets are so important they have standing orders to scuttle all ships however you can recover the treasure.
  12. You are talking about a different topic Sharden. This topic is about ones own faction pulling them in. Not about pulling enemy players into fight.
  13. That would work initially but I'd love to see them become local events. That way rivalry start to form.
  14. Add to this that more than one side can enter. Let all nations enter on their own side. That way it becomes a world event that can turn into a free for all last man standing event. Figure out someway for people to get notified about it. Like NPCs who spot it can put a treasure fleet report in chat like the current reports that are being used. Then it's a race to get to it and capture it before anyone else can.
  15. I forgot to chime in in the jailing. I'm against that. That's not a fun mechanic in any game.
  16. Yes please give us an off switch in terms of being pulled into combat by your own faction.
  17. SoL in limited crafting section to clear that up. I can't edit my posts on this forum for some reason..... Also give the Pirates a speed bonus to frigates to make them the swarming speed demons they are truly meant to be.
  18. I to would like to see the pirate faction be unique. 1. Don't allow them to capture ports. Let them live out of Free Towns so certain shipping lanes and ports become pirate havens. 2. Give them the Raid flag as described above. 3. Create a hiring system so nationals can hire cutthroat to help them in Port battles, raid ports, secure areas, delay enemy nationals, ect. Let the Pirates ask for ships, gold, and maybe even a limited about of XP upon completion of contract. Or failure cause well their pirates and sometimes they run off with the gold without completing the deal. 4. Add in a build able hamlet that pirates can put on islands in the game. Let them upgrade it so the it has defense towers in the open world. This way pirates can deploy anywhere they want and set up a temporary base of operations. Maybe even make it like a floating deployable structure like a bunch of wrecked ships that gives them an ability to place an Outpost inside. Nationals would need to find and destroy these to rid themselves of the local pirates. 5.Limited crafting. Pirates will need to either steal them, buy them, or be awarded them in merc contracts. Also why not give them a chance to get ships if they raid the right ports. If they can figure out where TDF does most of their shipbuilding then that Port will have a higher chance of giving a ship to the raiding group. I can see a pirate group scouting figuring out where a lot of ships are being built and raiding it hoping to come away with a SoL.
