  1. I mentioned it to some guys the other day instead killing people (me) in a large fleet why not fight each other and they had no idea what i was on about. xD so it must be a pirate only thing. So bugged or intentional ?
  2. We hold no shame in sinking. We'll be shiny and chrome in the halls of VALHALLA!
  3. Also that reminds me @HachiRoku King of Crowns was Sunk the other day my @Gregory Rainsborough I've not got the image that was shown but i did see it and many others can confirm it.
  4. Issue and expected is the name removal on Open world would hit this thread making it go abit calmer. But i'll work on doing these bountys now Am i really only worth 5 PvP marks Jubal?
  5. Unsure it sounds interesting however i don't want this done now the Devs have other more important stuff to focus on like UI, RvR, Hostility. Battles are pretty solid at the moment and i'm tired of them changing stuff which changes the Meta. Would rather them add more meat to the OW than add onto something which is pretty much solid and works currently
  6. Okay i've presented and other people solutions. I'm against port locking as it causes to many issues which could be abused. Im for giving the owner of the port a selected % resource it drops/produces as that would mean the owning clan does not need to compete for contracts when they own the port. but yeah im straying from my point... My point is we've came up with options/solutions and all i've seen from you is a bunch of... this/that and no. However to not follow up with a solution of your own? So i'll ask you this what you like to see?
  7. The issues here is Ports feel worthless... giving a % of a Selected resource free to owning clan makes them feel worth more and will make some worth alot. Other issue is Clans feel like they're being outbid by alts, That'll happen regardless and port locking will cause issues for more than just alts. Atleast with the % Selected the clan owning the port gets something rather than nothing and be outbid on the dropping item. If Cartagena produced 20 Tar a day and 5 went to HRE a day they wouldn't need to put buy orders in though they can if they want. As 5 a day is enough to make it worthwhile in the end. and it'll not effect any buy/sell contracts
  8. I think you are missing the points i'm not on about timer costs and you must be misunderstanding. Your taking what i said was an example on about timer costs? You think that is a complex system? Compared to the port locking one? okay. It's very simple and easier to code than port locking (which causes alot of issues for there own nation, lone wolfs, small clans)
  9. Currently the Tax for owning a Port is like 500k+ so getting a % of a resource free is still technically being paid for by the clan. Now while it may mean Cartagena will give more to the Port Owner, this is going to happen regardless as it's a a one off port. However giving a % of a selected resource free per production makes other ports more desirable to clans even small Clan who own 1 port. Got a port in the middle of no-where no-visits? making no money on it by tax at all? Atleast you get % of a Selected resource there. Example being KOTO owns 1 port which is Puerto de nipe. We make naff all in Tax profits, however with the % selected lets say 25% if we choose to put that on Oak Logs and the port produces 2000 Oak logs that day we'll get 500 Oak logs free which might sound like alot for free but were paying the port timer tax etc so were paying 500k for 500 oak logs but atleast were getting something out of it. or we say it drops Historical Artefacts it drops 20 in that day we get 5 of them which we can sell at MT for Gold. Also the items going straight to the clan warehouse would be the easiest and simple option. But you have a good moment here to encourage trading and make the selected good have to be picked up in port by a Officer or new clan rank... trader?
  10. I totally get what the Admin is saying though it causes so many negatives and alot of coding to stop all these holes which people could potentially abuse. Easiest way i see is making it so the clan of the port gets a % of a "selected" (Chosen by diplomats in port menu) produced item in the port. That way the Clan gets something and it does not mess with any buy/sell orders So for example Cartagena produces 20 Cartagena Tar the clan owning it gets 5 Cartagena Tar for free the rest goes to buy orders? That way the owning clan gets something regardless and it does not mess with any of the buy/sell stuff and it'll require less coding?
  11. I thought as much as we do the same. Once i've set a contract though nothing is stopping me from entering that port later on and claiming what i've got and if i put a mega high price i'm bound to get alot. It could be done by keeping the port open to the Nation but only the Clan (and if selected friends) can put buy contracts in port. It'll then cancel all Non-Clan buy contracts and return/claim the cancelled contract money and current brought items to said person who placed it. Now whats to stop a clan from putting this on every port stopping anyone but the clan from buying? We'll we'll need a limit so you can only set 3 ports (example) that can do this option. to stop people from making Alt Clan to increase the limit? Make it so only a clan with a certain number of members can set a Clan only buy contract port. This should also not effect anyone putting sell contracts. Only buy ones. But then what's to stop multiple large clans from doing this? so for example HRE, CABAL etc etc put Clan only and friends meaning that could be atleast 6 Ports no one but the clan and friends can buy from. this could be a snowball effect where all the large clans are friends lock ports and it could end up (example) 90% of the Nation ports locked behind the largest clans. This is fine if it there was Clan warfare. Meaning you need to join one of these large clans which limits lone players and smaller clans.
  12. To be fair though i don't have a alt but if i did there is nothing stopping me from potentially joining HRE with said alt as a 'new player' and just bypassing the locked port that way. Granted i would end up being found out eventually as they would wonder how i'm able to afford said Contract in port. However it is quite a hassle to do to getting said materials that way. This is an example i have no idea how HRE etc handle new recruits
  13. I totally agree that the new player experience should come first before the later game RvR (annoying as the current RvR is) As for the lockdown thing i totally feel it benefits people to stop using Alt accounts. However i think it should be optional and set by the Port owner who can enter and who cannot. That way people can lock certain ports while keeping others open, it'll stop the Alt accounts from buying stuff from Cartagena but the clan would have the abilty to open for everyone to do contracts. or is if it ends up being abused is limiting the amount of locked ports you can do to like a maximum of 3 Per Clan. To stop people from creating a new clan to get around the 3 limit, perhaps make it so only people with a certain amount of members can lock ports.
  14. They did and yes that may be True, however you can Buy PvP Marks from players who do PvP from shops totally bypassing people having to PvP and that would mean alot of Gold spent and PvP Marks also Spent. Granted people will still find away to abuse a system (Shame on them) Also side benefit being it opens up a bigger market for Solo PvPers etc to contribute to RvR making hunting etc worth it.
  15. It did have flaws, but i meant it as an example. But to perhaps stop people from spamming Flag perhaps make it Cost a decent amount of Gold or PvP Marks. PvP Marks being the main focus as that would imply you need to do some OW pvp to pull a flag. In benefit bringing more people into Patrol Missions (Which also need tweaking) Edit: Also allowing people to capture everything up to 2nd Rates may encourage more OW pvp, The captured ships wont be better than crafted ones but it means you've got a decent source of throwaway ships for a Patrol mission to get PvP marks.
  16. My main issue is the way Hostility is handled. I would take pulling a Flag on a port and waiting until the next day than doing a damn hostility. I Understand the concept of hostility and has the potential of being something unique but at the moment it like a huge barrier you must pass in order to have some fun and little reward (Depending on outcome) Example of something better is bring back flags which mark a port for a battle the next day, While keeping hostility for maybe instead of raising hostility but destroying the Forts/Tower in said Port for a/the upcoming port battle.
  17. You misinterpreted, I'm going to assume you're on about the "Wait a day" bit which by the way i have no problem with honestly. What i'm on about is the payoff for waiting a day is not worth it. Examples being 2Hours to grind AI, Port Battle happens and lasts for atleast 30mins due to points. Defenders steamrolling attackers. Bad Wind changing. which overall could mean the attackers spent lets say 3 hours to get possibly get No PvP marks, No Port, Sometimes not even a fight (Bad Wind causes defenders to wind by points for example) Yesterday we decided to attack Kemps Bay with some new players to teach them the ropes, so we spent 2-3 Hours the day before grinding Hostility. Next day we turned up at the port battle and well pretty much got smashed in about 1 Hour? The best someone got from that on attacker side was 3pvp Marks the defenders i would assume was 10 or so. so we spent 4 hours to get 3 PvP marks, Granted we got a fight....be we could do that in a patrol zone and get MORE rewards. The Port was eh it had White Oak which is helpful but we don't need it.
  18. Then having to wait a day for a fight which could last 30mins due to the defenders winning on points or worst case just steamroll the Attackers. Effort put in for the payoff is not worth it.
