Hi guys, I have heard the feedback some have sent me and if you see a port you want listed please make a post in this thread instead of PM'ing me because I will forget to add it later when I actually have time. Having all the updates in on a single page on this thread is a lot more convenient for me. I work full time and have RL stuff obviously, so sometimes I do not have the time to make updates until the weekend... Thanks
  2. I proposed an idea I thought would be fun at the end of last week's battle. Does anyone want to do an all 5th rate battle at a different time and port? It could even be on Sunday, maybe something a little bit more centrally located like *insert super secret port here*

I would like to see skirmish mode opened up later after some of the core OW mechanics have been implemented: 1) New Boarding 2) Port Battles 3) Crafting 4) Commissions/MIssions/Quests (from both the Navy and maybe neutral ports - even if they are generic 'go out and sink 5 ships' type missions). 5) Basic guild features (create guild, add/remove members, guild chat, ya know the basics) I think with these things in place plus a brief tutorial, we could open back up skirmish mode right before Steam EA. Right now I feel like we keep tweaking combat details over and over and over and are just spinning the wheels on some things, rather than adding more fun things to the game.
  5. I haven't logged in to test the new patch mechanics yet, but with the new patch notes, it looks like we can surrender and not lose dura, just pay for repair. I think this solves the whole issue between lethal and non-lethal combat. You can just surrender now if you don't want to lose your fancy 5 module ship.
  6. Well we are starting them at 10 PM Euro time...I don't how late you want them to start...it is very possible that there might be a battle 2 hrs later 6 PM EDT if you want to catch the last one, but I can't promise anything.

  8. I extended a few lines, I tried to keep the lines proper relative to port coords, you guys give it a few days and let me know if you want me to revert it or do it with the rest of the lines... As was mentioned before, the game map is based off historical maps not google satellite maps, so it is hard to line everything up perfectly...

  11. What additional details do you guys need? Here is the TLDR version: Have all your fleet mates sign up here ASAP: https://goo.gl/Tf6GBf (other nations need to know what ships to bring). Trust me it works out better if you have ppl sign-up earlier instead of trying to get them the night before. All who sign-up then show up at Plymouth @ 2200 CET on Saturday with whatever ship they want to fight in. We figure out exact teams on the spot and each side forms a line, we start the battle, and then we fight to the last man standing. It is important that you show up on time as lots of people waiting tend to get bored and leave. Please plan ahead accordingly. If someone is late it is not the end of the world, we plan to do 3 battles in a row hopefully, they can join in on the next one. Much fun was had by all sides this past weekend. It was definitely worth the cost of admission in my opinion. It was about 75% 1st-3rd rates and 25% frigates for each side was just the way it ended up working out. I wouldn't mind doing a frigate only Trafalgar if people are interested (lower cost of entry) but I'll just hold off on that for now.
  12. Sig - sent you a PM. btw I don't think you need to go through the hassle to upload to a 3rd party first. There is a picture attach button, you can attach from your machine directly in the post. I guess I can be a little bit more lax on my requirements. I assume if ppl report incorrect things here, ppl will dispute it later anyways. Then I would need a screenshot to resolve the dispute. So given that, probably the easiest way to provide new map info is to just update the community map with the updated ports and coords, Then just make a post saying 'update these ports from the community map' with a list of port name/factions and then I will 'copy' the port info over from the community map to the main map.
  13. Le Moule has been marked as a pirate harbor, if you are not seeing that, then you are using an old link. I also filled in the coords for Island Harbor as well. As far as those 4 Bahamas ports, I will need screenshots or you'll just have to wait for someone to verify. Hugo, I doubt many US players have sailed north of Brunswick
  14. Okay an another annoying thing is the max number of ppl on a PM is currently limited to 5, can you at least up this to 10 by any chance?
  15. My biggest concern is what will happen to the player's ships if his nation's port is taken? Will the shore-leave crew automatically sail the boats down to the next friendly dock?
  16. yes I am referring to forum PM I am not saying get rid of it, just lower the lockout. I mean there's only a few hundred active ppl on the forum. I just don't think a 'punish the many to counter a few' strategy is the best option. We do not have in-game mail working yet, and I don't think you can friend ppl from other nations, so I can't send these ppl from other nations offline messages besides forum PM. hard to organize stuff with different timezones.
  17. They need to lower the Fury X to $599 to make it more attractive IMO.
  18. Maybe new players are looking for others to group with and are not necessarily on at the same time. It builds the community at the nation level.
  19. Why do I have to wait 10 minutes between a single PM?? Can you reduce it to like a minute or something? This seems overly paranoid and inconvenient when you are trying to legitimately contact multiple ppl with different messages.

Yeah we had some late Saturday night tussles with SLRN (I won't elaborate) Oh and I must stress, that these will be no AI allowed unless there is a balancing force needed for an uneven amount of players and it is agreed on by both sides. They really unbalance things and I doubt the devs will keep the AI fleets around for too much longer. If you want PvPvE, you can find that pretty much anywhere on the map already. The one thing I still need to work out is a TS server for the EU crowd to communicate in. So if anyone doesn't mind hosting the EU side let me know.

Had some crazy shennanigans last night for the 4th so a lot ppl from TDA aren't on, I just tried to contact everyone who signed up but only 2 ppl were on, so I guess we will aim for next weekend when it is less crazy. Konali suggested a slightly later time...like 11-12 PM GMT+1 next Sat (Jul 11th) as there are some AUS that want to play. Kind of hard to coordinate across all timezones Would be nice if Jacob Montagne ever logged on
