EQCR
I have an amd 6800 series, I played last night (first time) for several hours (after going to amd site and updating drivers) and now I get shader 4, shader 5 required block. any ideas? Henry d'Esterre Darby
Could you please clarify what happened? You played for a while, went to the AMD site and updated drivers, and now you can't play? Or is it the other way around? Does your computer have onboard graphics as well as the AMD card, or just the AMD card?

Could you please post if it happens again? I don't use AMD, so hopefully someone that does and may have insight on this issue can chime in. Prater
Does your motherboard have an integrated graphics chip? That could be causing the issue.

EQCR
hmmmmm, no integrated vid, i built it, the only thing i can think of is that it is all asus components and there is asus software that may mess with dx11 settings on startup, but that seems unlikely. Asus software cannot disable a shader model, could you run GPU-Z and post a screenshot here?
EQCR
well, day 2. No Steam issues (yeah), shader 4, shader 5 required, uninstall amd catalyst, reinstall, ohhhh that shader5, sure you are good to go. hmmm, weird. eah6850 (asus) is the vidcard if you want specs. Henry d'Esterre Darby
Sounds like something on your local machine - I don't know what. But something is messing with your driver settings. Have you tried a different (older) video driver version.
Flip
When you are uninstalling catalyst are you using the total uninstall that removes all AMD software including old drivers?
