well, day 2. No Steam issues (yeah), shader 4, shader 5 required, uninstall amd catalyst, reinstall, ohhhh that shader5, sure you are good to go.
hmmm, weird.
eah6850 (asus) is the vidcard if you want specs.
hmmmmm, no integrated vid, i built it, the only thing i can think of is that it is all asus components and there is asus software that may mess with dx11 settings on startup, but that seems unlikely.
History:
Added game to Steam
Launch 1st time
Shader4 Shader5 required message
Go to amd site
use autodetect and upgrade (dx11) software
naval action runs fine
go to bed
get up in the morning and turn on computer
steam will not connect
download steam and get new password
steam connects
start naval action
shader4 shader5 required message
cannot play naval action atm
Addendum:
Delete amd software
redownload amd software
naval action runs
I have an amd 6800 series, I played last night (first time) for several hours (after going to amd site and updating drivers) and now I get shader 4, shader 5 required block.
any ideas?
