Yet another example of players blaming players for developers poor mechanic Whats more there is zero evidence of intent. Whos to say he knew it blocked captured ships from being awarded? You cant know without an actual admission of such in chat for example. Perhaps his daughter woke up and he had to go look after her (happens to me all the bloody time)

Abuse of ALTs in Basic Cutters to start combat
chappy replied to mindnet56's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
Doubtful is the key word. Who is to say britgamer didnt just want to legitimately try and engage the danish ship? The issue isnt the individual it is the patchy mechanics as is very often the case with these tribunal posts Even an attempt to prove something does little other than confirm who tagged who there is no proof of intent- 57 replies

this is again why this tribunal system is so flawed. any exploiting accusations, any cheat evidence or abuse of mechanics should really just be referred to admins/moderators through tickets. rather than starting this silly public shaming and jumping to conclusions,

Abuse of ALTs in Basic Cutters to start combat
chappy replied to mindnet56's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
In the absence of any other evidence of specific players or clans abusing a mechanic this is about all that this thread is good for. well that and making generalisations and sweeping accusations against entire nations...- 57 replies

Pvp 1: Denmark-Norway. Green attacking green.
chappy replied to kirefla91's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
the pirate is attackable under the game rules. alf attacked the pirate and has every reason to prosecute the attack fully without being shot at by a danish player who happens to be friends with said pirate. having said all of that was this pirate accidentally a pirate due to the shockingly poor game mechanic of attacking same nation = piracy? if so i feel for him and his unfortunate situation and im sure if alf haf fully grasped this fact he probably would have stopped engaging. -

The *other* Australian option - Denmark (PvP1)
chappy replied to chappy's topic in Guilds, Clans and Trading companies
VDD just wrapped up a night dedicated to pvp. We left Vieques with 1x Constitution, 1x renomee, 1x belle poule, 1x surprise, 1x mercury and 1x snow. (and a basic cutter.. new member) We paid a visit to the Swedish areas, initial contacts were against lighter ships such as a Niagara and a Mercury, we split into 2 groups to tackle and chase down these. Once done we travelled SouthEast past the Swedish capital on a run towards plymouth. On the way we encountered a Surprise who more or less sat there rather than run and following this a trincomelee was also chased down and sunk By this point the Swedes had managed to form a fleet to counter us. We travelled SE towards Plymouth and assessed the situation as we travelled. Unfortunately they chose to bring the biggest fleet they could so there really wasnt any chance of engaging it in a stand up fight as their fleet consisted of 1x Pavel, 1x 3rd Rate, a constitution, 2x trincomelee, 1 x frigate, a surprise and a cerberus. There may have been more in plymouth that we could not see. And so we entered Plymouth and teleported out. 2 of us continued with a final cruise off Ile a Vache in a surprise and renomee pair 5 minutes later. We traveled West and NorthWest along the coast. We quickly encountered a lone British Trincomalee sailing along the coast line. Intercept courses were plotted and we rapidly closed and engaged. The player (sorry i forget your name, but of BWITC) did fight valiently however with some stern raking and boarding by the renomee he was soon captured. He did come close to sinking the surprise however. well done sir. The prize turned out to be rather juicey with 5x high grade notes and 4x medium grade notes as well as a load of medium carriages on board. This was promptly shipped back to Danish territories via Parcel Post at Ile a Vache. All in all a good fun night of pvp that totalled a solid 3 hours or so of cruising and engaging targets -

had some good hunting in the swedish areas last night. good chance we'll be out doing the same somewhere tonight! those looking for a small pvp clan feel free to hit us up and join us on teamspeak -
yeah we had a couple good scraps with your guys already (not arranged) but the thing we liked the most was that your guys didn't bitch about being caught or losing the fight. quite refreshing
-
Sloth, we need to try and arrange a battle with you guys in the AU tz, it looks like you have some players online around then

Thankyou for your wellwishes zeal. The group is already formed, it has been in existence for more than a decade and has time in other Age of Sail games as well as titles like Eve online. just looking to include those with a similar outlook to us if they are interested. It is my hope we can generate real content in the Australian timezone by having a bit of a spread of aussie tz players across nations -
Clan [OE] players on PVP1 killing 3rd rate while boarding
chappy replied to ViperMagic's topic in Tribunal - Трибунал
I wonder, was this a fleet instance with a lot of people in it? Did you guys ask if it was ok to board one of the 3rd rates in the instance? Its worth noting not everyone will be ok with such an activity when they might be trying to kill the ships for xp (i think you still get an assist even if its capped though? cant remember the mechanic rule) I personally think its best to discuss how the fleet will be finished at the start of the instance. -

no offence guys but its pretty poor form to crowd out another blokes recruitment post with sheer numbers wouldnt you say? now i have said repeatedly that i am not drawing comparisons between us and them. danes and brits. but if you want to , please go ahead. just not in here and not about your clans -

thanks wang but i guess its all relative. 30ish does make your aussie representation plus 20 from asia quite large imo and to clarify it was not my intention to single out any particular clan for comparison sake. That was done by the subsequent poster -

depends on the timezone i dare say. In the Australian timezone, from my experience, it is most certainly not. generally speaking although I am no expert on the other tzs i got the impression it is probably 3rd or 4th largest overall -

unless the player i talked to lied. they have like 150 members aparently I note you arent one of them? i'll also add that i wasnt referring to them specifically -
yeah ok so it sounds like the mechanic isnt working properly at all, pretty safe to say this guy was confused by the joining options.

Van Diemans Demise [VDD] No flashy sigs and banners, no extensive preamble. If you're Australian and on the PVP1 EU server and don't like being a part of the biggest nation and biggest clan, there is another clan option. Come join a tight nit group of pvpers who take things pretty easy Drop me a line in game or pm me on the forums. Prerequisite: must prefer to be the underdog. Teamspeak is essential chappy oluffson in game.

I've already had a discussion with herminator on teamspeak on learning of this agreement (after the fact) some points to make as i did with herminator directly 1: not all clans were involved in the process 2: democracy is a nice word. but there is also a term known as the tyranny of the majority. True democracy requires true representation of the minority. 3: this agreement , the port battles that led to it, and the clans involved in it primarily and dominantly play in the western EU/US timezones. There are other timezones, namely the lower population Pacific. Pvp in this tz is hard to come by and sporadic. Abiding by agreements that effectively limit PVP options in the pacific timezone only hurts that timezones content and thus wont be abided by. 4: as puchu notes, there are no game mechanics to allow or enforce these agreements. they will be messy. It is definitely worth reminding all those in the Dane/Nord and Swede nations that the agreements really only therefore apply between the clans that voluntarily made them. They do NOT apply to the nation as a whole.
