  1. Few days ago a good friend of mine just got me a naval action code via his paypal-account. Activating the code at steam, loading the game, trying to log in with my steam account. However the launcher just told me i have a bad username or password.(although i didnt write down one of those) Few restarts later(of the game, steam and my pc), after checking the firewall i reinstalled the game-didnt work. (I did clean up the registry and deleted every data  i found of the game left on my pc) After all of that my friend just tried to log in with my steam account on his pc-didnt work either. The only explanation i have is that the purchase via paypal did connect to my friends email somehow but thats just me guessing. I would be happy with help and hope you guys can give it to me.

Have you tried to log in with steam on the in game menu? Hit 'Steam' then login.

  2. It has elements of POTBS in both design (from what we know) and gameplay, think POTBS slowed down with no skills, manual aiming, and manual sailing. It really captures you and gives you the same feeling of excitement in a large battle.

How the open world will compare is unknown as a whole, but if you liked POTBS there is a good chance you will like this game as long as you weren't a die hard fan of 'magic' skills.

  3. I believe that if you can run games with DX11 you can also run games with shader 5.0 since you can't use DX11 without shader 5.0? Don't quote me on, I just think this is how it is.

No, if you have DX 11 it doesn't automatically mean you have shader 5.0.

@ the original post - Post your graphics card specs, that's what we need. Looks like you have a labtop but try to find out if you have a card or you're running integrated gfx.

  4. I've been watching this game for some time now and would've pre-paid already except for the fact that Paypal was involved. I'm waiting for the ability to use my debit card, like I've been able to use for other games. I know this is the suggestion section of the forum and this would be my suggestion, allow debit cards payment. I would be happy to hear from someone that this is already in the works, in which case I will be satisfied to wait patiently.

Easier said then done to make payment types available. However, it will be on steam in the near future and then you can use your debit card :).

  5. When I was in High School and College, I disliked steam because of DRM.  No way to crack games that way.  That's the only reason why someone would have a problem with steam and DRM.  Now that I have my own money (and computer that I dont want to get infested with malware) I use steam because it is the easiest thing out there and they keep my games for me so I dont have to have cds.  They also update games for me.  Just buy the game and use it through steam.  It really is a convenience.  Just might be a little tough on the wallet because of all the advertisements of games :D

P.S. Steam isn't always on.  You can also go offline.

Exactly, most DRM-free advocates advocate it because they want free games or easy torrent versions to pop up fast. The other half don't know what DRM is but assume its evil.

  6. Once the damage is done it doesn't really matter if they turn black as you can already shoot them, people might even do it just to be independent and 'special'. I think friendly fire should reflect back onto your ship for now, as a quick fix until something more solid can be made.

Sadly the damage turned to 0 won't deter the most dedicated people.

  7. I thought it would be a nice way to hang around, see how its going and talk with the lads in a situation when you cant install the game (me, for example, have to use an old computer running linux for a few weeks).

If i understand how some stuff works at all, some online games use irc protocols for their lobbys. May be dead wrong tho.

You're not wrong, a lot of games use a IRC based chat, especially smaller games that can't easily make a chat system. That said the dev's have never mentioned IRC so who knows.
