    @Ned Lowe.

    Ned I know this post is old but I would love to use the plans of the San Filipe to build a VR Model.  I would also like to credit you, or the source of them.  Do I have your permission to use these plans for the model? I dont wish to assume that just because they are visible on the forum, there is no licence attached :)

    Go ahead. Ned is my old Forum Name. Credits in PM. ;)

    Here is a full plan package with high res :

  2. They should hire you. Great stuff.

    4. Old suggestion that would expand Economy content. We have multiple topics suggesting limited ammo mechanics. Unfortunately no one picked it up.

    9. Used to have location finder, got removed. No idea why. We need basic navigation tools that used to exist and a way to calculate ans share location.

    Wouldn't mind that paint in game :)

    Nice snippet btw.

    I think we all missed some details. It's already in the game apparently, but it's not yellow it's orangeish. Gunport doors must be painted as well to achieve Nelson Chequer effect imho. Chequer paint theme is a must! I still can't believe such important detail was missed.  @admin Also, how about half and half paint (half black and half yellow?)

    Also, Red Paint themes would be nice. P.S. that is USS Constitution

    pfR7ZX4.jpg

  4. First of all, take note of that ship paint theme. (would be nice to have the same in NA) Dark black with British yellow, no wonder that ship is cursed )) Also, Constitution in NA looks boxy compared to this model.

    THERE’S A MODEL SHIP AT the National Museum of the United States Navy that has a history so creepy, that nobody in the U.S. government wants the toy boat in their office.

    “We call it the ‘Black Constitution,’” said Capt. Henry J. Hendrix, the outgoing director of Naval History and Heritage Command, as he gives a tour of the museum, part of Washington’s Navy Yard. The “black ship,” as it’s also called, is a replica of the USS Constitution, a relic from the 1790s that remains in Boston.

    “It was returned to us from the White House because that [USS] Constitution had sat in the office of President John Kennedy, and then was in the press secretary’s office with James Brady, and then after both of them were shot, the White House said, ‘We want to send this back,’” Hendrix explained. “No one wants to take the risk … I wouldn’t have it in my office, for instance.”

    So instead the boat remains behind a glass case in the museum – what used to be the old Naval Gun Factory – on the same campus where the September 2013 Navy Yard shooting occurred. (The public can tour the facility if prior arrangements are made.)

    -----------------------------------------------
    It’s Hendrix’s last full day on the job, after serving “26 years, two months, 17 days” in the Navy. He’s ending his career at the helm of the unit charged with looking after its archives, artifacts, art, and museums. The captain, a history buff who holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D., came on board after the Navy Inspector General put out a 2011 report saying that the Navy’s history was endangered: There was mold growing on some documents and even more documents were piling up. The entire museum in Washington needed to be seriously upgraded, explained the Navy Times, all thanks to being "chronically underfunded."

    “But literally we have undertaken what we call band-aid solutions,” Hendrix said, ticking off improvements like upgrading temperature and humidity control in the museum. “It’s a lot of minutiae – that’s quite frankly one of the good things about having a Navy captain installed because we’re into minutiae.”

    Progress has been made. On the same day as Hendrix’s retirement, the Naval History and Heritage Command is being awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation for getting the archives back on track.
    And much has been discovered going through the documents, microfilm, and crates.
    “We came across one of the first radios to be installed in the White House,” Hendrix said. The reason it was "Navy" was because its twin resided on the presidential yacht, the USS Mayflower.
    After the USS Mayflower, in presidential yacht history, came the USS Sequoia. “Now these are the benches of the Sequoia, see over there?” Hendrix pointed. “So, literally, Harry Truman and John Kennedy sat on those benches.”
    And speaking of presidents’ bottoms, Hendrix then pointed out Abe Lincoln's old chair.
    “We believe that he sat in that when he drafted the Emancipation Proclamation,” Hendrix said.
    The back story with that chair is that it came off the USS Princeton, a ship that suffered a major explosion in 1844 when one of its guns – dubbed the “Peacemaker” – blew up, killing the country’s secretary of the Navy and secretary of state. Much of the furniture came off, including the chair, which ended up in the building we today call the Old Executive Office Building.

    Yea I enjoyed the herc test thing.  It was nice having fresh new content in what is normally a very stale game.  I wish there were more weekly quests of a similar nature that we could do and get random goodies.

    Grats on passing btw, I saw it on nation the other day.  I think with you and tiargo passing have 100% pass rate in the clan among active members now.  Not bad

    Thanks, man. Weekly content like this with different scenarios would be amazing.

    Frankly it seems like the server activity dropped without the continued content creation that was the Russian empire.  We generated a metric tonne of battles in multiple regions of the map, in particular the carta area which has since been dead.  Just like it was dead before we attacked down there.  Like em or hate em, the largest spike of players since the early days of the EU/Global split and wipe was during the 100+ players involved in the actions in and around Carta and the 700+ player peaks we would see regularly in those days.  This weekend I barely saw it crack 400+.  This notion that we killed the belize population or any population of players is bullshit.  Prior to our taking of carta we launched the Belize campaign and conquered most of it and yet we still had 700+ player pop spikes while fighting down at carta for a month or 2 later.  This notion we killed off large populations of players is a lie.  No other nation since has had the balls to take on the swedes since, unless you call what KoC is doing at night balls.  It got so boring over there after Russia died that rediii (and multi other long time swedes) changed nations for more content.  Meanwhile shirt birds like Banished on here who offer the population nothing but criticism like to pop bottles over the demise of Russia while they are too busy allying up with any nation that scares them and just club seals over and over while calling it content.  Russia might be dead but he still lost to them a week or 2 ago.  Laugh.

    The game overall has seemed to suffer from a lack of RVR content and the killing of a nation that was perhaps the largest content creator for a couple months definitely has stifled a large portion of the activity on the server and our population has seemed to suffer significantly from a lack of things to do (and other reasons).  A large portion of players going dormant through whatever means will have a detrimental effect on a game that has so few players regardless whether or not you like them.  So by all means applaud the demise of the Russian Empire while shooting yourselves in the foot.  Russia took it's shot and it was fun as hell, but when you fly a little too close to the sun you come down crashing.  It was a scenic ride.

    Personally I enjoyed my time there and probably would still be over there if we had more things to do.  The flurry of activity from late Nov - mid Feb was perhaps one of the most enjoyable periods of time in the game for myself.  I can't say we've seen very many full 25 on 25 1st rate battles anywhere on the map since, we used to have them multiple times a week down there by Carta.  Maybe one day someone will grow a pair of cojones the size of Russia's and attack some real ports.  Maybe..   until then we'll just enjoy the drama here.  Not much else to do.

    I am personally waiting for econ patch + new content and I am sure many people just taking a break or trying new games. Once patch is here I will slowly resume ship crafting business and start sailing. Got my Hercules and that was the most enjoyable content and rewards that I have ever seen in NA history. National chat is quiet lately with 240 online US time.

  7. For the first time in years I spawned underwater and had to wait like 3 mins before game settled and put me back in port. Something is going on.

    I wish I was a better bash ninja then I would've made a gsheet that auto updated much like my speeds sheet does today.

    I had to ask qw569 to write the script for me:

    curl http://storage.googleapis.com/nacleanopenworldprodshards/ItemTemplates_cleanopenworldprodeu1.json | sed "s/^.\{20\}//" | sed "s/.\{1\}$//" | jq -r ".[]|select(.ShipTemplateName!= null)|[.ShipTemplateName,.Specs.MaxSpeed,.Specs.SpeedToWind[]]|@csv" > apidump$(date +%Y%m%d%H%M).csv
    drive push -quiet -destination 'Naval Action'/api apidump*.csv

    I know what it does because he wrote it to my specifications, but I still don't understand it :(

    Too bad we lost @Black Spawn.

    Those are simply gps coordinates with a command to do this and that. Only 5% of this code is actually an action script, the rest is just destination x and y.

    ex. curl - transfers data from or to servers using X protocols.

    curl --> Destination. Action Script. --> Destination. Action Script. --> Destination ,

    • Ability should be given to clans to completely lock trade in the controlled city, giving all resources produced by city to a clan.

    Dividing Nation like that is extremely risky. What about the rest of the clans and population in that same Nation? Will they be able to use that port and resources?

    Would love to talk about reinforcements mirrors and their strength and numbers.

    Mirror quantities and boost rate strength for uneven engagements. Ignore Victims ship. Spawn reinforcements close to the Victim. Add 25 seconds preparation with boarding/damage protection before Ai is active.

    Spawn x1 rate(-) under for 1vs1.

    ex. Player 4th rate(enemy) vs Player (Victim)

          -Spawn 5th rate AI (4-->5)

    Spawn x1 rate(+) up for 2vs1

    ex. Player 4 rate/ Player 5th rate(enemy) vs Player (Victim)

         -Spawn 3rd rate + 4th rate AI (4-->3/5-->4)

    I couldnt agree more, the hunters think they are okay because they can be overcome with a bit of skill, the problem is that all the prey that have any sense are doing their best to ensure they are not in a position to need reinforcements and so are unable to give feedback on the issue. As usual it is the inexperienced players that are taking the hit as they try to run and actually get further away from the help. Are these zones supposed to help new and inexperienced players or not?

    Making suggestions that could pose risk to their main mark income would be silly. That is why we get such responses. New player responses needed here.
