I write this, because british players threat in forums, that their nation will depopulate, when they being attacked further.

I have been a GB player from when I started Jan 2018 until release and was very active in RvR and organisation thereof. Let me tell you, those that are still in GB will stay in GB even if they lose a couple of ports. We had worse times when our RvR fleet imploded and the Spano-Russian coalition kicked our butts for a while. We still fought, even held the Caymans for a while against far superior numbers and economy (there where no GB ports with rare woods at the time). GB may have to get used to no longer holding as much territory but I would not write them off just yet.

Players leave when they experience situations that they believe is giving one side an unfair advantage. Port bonus' is giving the nations that has 55p ports an unfair advantage. Modules are giving some players an unfair advantage.

Honestly, the difference between 55 point ports and 45 point ports is marginal at best. Yes the Russians have a slight advantage there but that pales in comparison to their massive economy and the percentage of RvR-ready players. They did not win Bluefields because of port boni, they won because they could field a full PB fleet of 1st rates while GB was still trying to recover from losing most of theirs at Salamanca a few days prior.

You see? That's the problem of this game.
    How about "trying to rebuild"?
    Finding a "balance"?

Just no - let's go other super power to make it another super power.

    That's SUPER BORING.

Forged Papers are absolutely worst thing that could have happened to this game.

Yes, and that is the reason you are playing with havoc and not with poland.

    Lol

Kind reminder: OjK is a member of SNOW who, incidentally, left GB on release to find a smaller nation. Get your facts straight, muchacho...

It was right after we switched that VPs playerbase massively increased. We would have picked another nation had we known beforehand. Bad timing, but ship happens. Now we honestly don't want to leave again, especially right after pumping a metric shitton of CMs, VMs and Doubloons first into the national infrastructure then into our own...

    You Troll..

Russia is most of the time our political ally

but perhaps you throw some books and  Frigates and all nations .... pew pew... :)

So.. The two largest factions (not counting the brits, for some reason no one ever does), has allied themselves? What would be the point of having 36% of the server pop in one alliance?

Too scared for an even war? Bork, Bork, BORKAAAAY!

Thonys still lives in pre-wipe times. No political agreements with any nation have been made... Russia is neither ally nor declared enemy. We sink each other where we find each other, just as everyone else does^^

Dutch could you give us some geopolitical position of your new group of active clans ?

As was already stated in other topics, our interest in extended offensive RvR campaigns is very limited. Most of us are raiders first and RvR players second. We will defend our regional interests though.
Maybe we flip the odd port every now and then to have a nice PB/screening fight.

Thats fine but my point is they complaining about newbs being hunted but lets for a second imagine actually being new and inexperienced. Players killing them outside capital. Upsetting? Maybe but not everyone. This kinda is understandable by most players who start on pvp server. But then what ELSE is there left for the new guy to do? Passenger delivery missions? Ok big deal - 40 hours week sailing. What else? He gets to cargo delivery missions? Oh wow, “same egg just from different viewing angle”.

What is there for the new guy to hold on to? This game is about fighting. So eventually he will want to fight SOMETHING. Are we really sure that new guy will have an easy time killing AI? Ive met few actual newbs outside KPR (some of which ive let go btw) and they all complained loosing ships to AI.

Missions? They gonna have just as hard time doing missions. Get sunk newb!

Then back to deliveries! Repeat this circle couple more times and goodbye newb. No wonder they dont go above brig

Put AI on previous damage dealing “incapability” just give it more HP and it will be fine. Grinding 1 middle level is fkn nightmare for those who have to work for living

I completely wholeheartedly agree with that. There absolutely should be easiert to kill AI for the lowest ranks, so that they can get their bearings. To be honest though, what probably stops most newbies from growing is the lack of in-depth information. The basic tutorials are just that. Basics. Stuff like the above-mentioned angling, basic tactics etc is nowhere really explained.
Leaves only those playing who are willing to learn it themselves.

  6. It doesn't. It just doesn't. The sweet spot has narrowed a bit on the newer damage model but it is still possible to bounce over 80% of shots on a broadside even when in a ship of a lesser rate.
One thing I have come to notice when wondering why my shots would ricochet or the enemies wouldn't was that judging angles in the 3D environment can be very tricky and unreliable. If you really want to learn good angling and positioning, use your map a lot.

Edit: Angles where bouncing still works best are between 50° and 70° I'd say. Anything more and you just get raking damage, anything less and your armor gets penned.

Good that we have Poland with 0.8% population ;)

Not all of us have the forger DLC so the wipe was the best opportunity for a change... Also, after stuffing  a metric shitton of CMs, VMs and Doubs into our ports switching now would be waaay too much of a pain :D

you can't fight a ship in same class properly and this has nothing to do with skill

I hate to be that guy, but yes: it absolutely depends on skill.

Not PvP related skills neccessarily, but the AI still as predictable as ever and always follows the same patterns. The crazy angles at which AI can shoot seem to have been fixed since yesterday. And apart from that I see no problem with fighting AI ship in the same class or even one class higher for that matter.

    Remember:
You can repair, the AI cannot. You can choose to hold your fire until you get a good angle where your shots do not bounce off the enemies hull. The AI will always shoot immediately, even if it means zero shots penetrating your armor. They could have another 50% HP buff and it would not make the battles any harder. It would just make them take longer.

  9. If it is the basic cutter, you can always "buy" one for the staggering price of 0 reals from the ship auction menu. Hotkey would be "v" or you can klick on the little hammer icon on the lower edge of the port screen.
For clarification purposes: Did you sail back to port in the open world or dd you just end up in port directly after the battle ended? In the latter case, you either sank or lost the boarding and you ship will then naturally be gone.

  10. From how I read it there is a 5% chance to get ONE of the items with ID 603. There are 11 of those in that table. (1/11)*0.05 = 0.004545.... So the chance to get a specific book of that type in that loot-table would be about 0.5%.

ID744 has chance of 100% with 8 items so the chancce for a specific item would be 1/8=0.125=12.5% and so on....

  11. Allow me to suggest a few corrections/amendments:

    Hey all,

As far as we can read the recent/hot "France under attack" topic,

one can start evaluating the current RVR theater:

n°3-GB: Some of their historical clans left to start in other faction. Large territory & therefore large potential to climb fleet level in medium run, as long as its population remain steady. No idea yet about any large clan that would drive this Faction. But its potential remains as always one of the highest.

GB has at least two very large clans (BAIT and BASTD) although not all of them can be considered active in RvR. Not sure about EARs current numbers. Also with CRED they still have a clan of decently competent RvR Veterans who can hold their own against many other fleets.

n°6-DUTCH: Weak former Faction (due to low population), several serious clans has started with Dutch flag together with CABAL , its a new Faction to count with now which is good for creating a new Eastern forces balance.
That makes it seem a bit like everyone followed CABAL to VP, when in fact they rejoined their old home fairly late or at least made their intentions known only after lots of other clans already came in. VP population was not that low before release either, afaik. The amount of RvR-Interested players was probably negligible though.

    1. You flipped Bridgetown because the dutch are too scared to go for a even target and rather go for Brits/French. Even now after GB showed up at Bridgetown you focus on GB now. :D

    2. I don't trust CABAL and actually everyone I asked said "No we can't go there" some bla bla and "But we would like to Screen there". But yea, I was activly asking around :) We did some nice group missions while PB happened and as far as I know Greg sank some ppl in OW pvp, just not at bridgetown

    3. Yea thats shit

Everything else you shouldn't be surprised about after going for the maincrafting port of a small nation, drama included

Imma speak plainly now, just to keep misconceptions at a minimum.

The far majority of EU time clans in dutch have never worked together before and to be quite honest, must of us are not even that interested in offensive RvR. We just figured it would be a bad time to start working out flaws in cooperation in a defensive situation, when it actually counts. First coordinated action as a nation defending Carta? Bad Idea :D
The flip btw was planned to be SNOW, not CABAL. turns out a few more Frenchies joined their hostility order and got sunk so they got a few % more.

Our first Idea was to grab Bridgetown, flip St. George to make carebearing in the area easier and then drop Bridgetown again. We didn't think really that through and when we realised that taking and dropping Bridgetown would destroy all investments, Both some of SNOW and CABAL had second thoughts. Would be a bit too much of a dick move 😅

Some goes for taking Les Cayes initially. Not so much about screwing GB over as more about getting a nice carebearing port with bigger ships to kill. Otherwise we would have taken the whole county. Who knows, maybe we will attack some BAIT ports in the future, maybe we won't. As far as I can tell, the majority of PvP clans in VP have little interest in long drawn out campaigns. And even though Russia has comparable player numbers, I wouldn't say we punch in quite the same league yet. Give our clans a few weeks to get to know each other more and iron out some kinks. :P

  13. I must say, you are quite funny.

    1. We flip Bridgetown out of boredom, France starts whining about how they cannot hope to defend it and will quit the game if we take it.
    2. Our dear Server Police Comissioner @rediii calls half the server to defend you (after we already told HAVOC that the actual attack is very unlikely to happen, because some of us do have a conscience, you know).
    3. We call off the attack and suddenly you talk all big balls about sinking us and making us leave the game.

A bit self-reflection would not go amiss here....

I think if Dutch come fighting to Bridgetown may be they leave this game after loosing battle against screening...This is probably more realistic :)

    HA! HAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
That one really tickled me 😂
Two major dutch Clans were GB before release, one was Swedish. I'd say we are all used to fighting multinational screening fleets. Losing a few ships has never stopped us before, why would it now?

Let it be a warning to the french leaders

the Dutch will not allow unfriendly enemy ports  in their surrounding water  ( or any other nation ...for free)

also the port BT must be closed or otherwise the PB fleet will not stop at the gate of mercy again.

in the past we had good relations with some french and it kept the peace for what is was

but now,  if you  spill the wine we will not drink it from the tray because you like it that way.

Quite ironic seeing the leader of a two man clan passing out warning on behalf of a whole nation...
but I guess it is easy for you as you will not be bearing the load, should enemies come knocking. (in case anyone is wondering who that will be: X, CABAL, SNOW and, depending on time zone, WO will be).
It was indeed to some degree pity that made us call off Bridgetown. The other part of it being that it was mainly a test to see how well different dutch clans can work together. What we learned during hostility was enough to first optimise some stuff before further endeavours 😃
