  1. Even without Forge Papers, the account of a Flag Captain can be easily reset, without big loss. He should recover in Master & Commander (losing 2 ranks only) if he made the exams before, or in a week if he did not do the exams.

Ships and valuable upgrades can be sold to a friend, if he has some, in a free town, as recovered just after reset.

I really don't see where is the problem to nation at once. But maybe, he does not want to change nation at once, he prefers to build first a strong reputation...

Prince de Neufchatel and Pirate Frigate have initial basic Preparation of 50. More is you really put men there. Not sure about Niagara actually.
Rattlesnake probably have also initial basic Preparation of 50.
Privateer have basic Prep of 20 as it seems to me from using it

    Thnaks.

I am sure about the Niagara (one of my favorites). So the list of 50 Prep is Prince, Niagara, Rattlesnake, Le Requin and Pirate Frigate

The 20 Preparation of the privateer just accelerates a bit the time to go to 100. If preparation is not launched with a normal crew, preparation at the boarding start will be 25.

  5. New Chapter 9.5.2

    9.5.2        Transport to Port Battle.

    image.png.b429e921188876a705cdbb3520fa5957.png

If a port battle is planned to start in the 5 next minutes, Player can use the item to transport a group of captains directly to the port battle. The steps to do it are the following:

    • Acquire the item, in Admiralty (the price is very expensive).
    • Create a group.
    •  Request the group to enter in the same port and click “Ready”.
    • Use the item.
    • Select the port to transport the ships to.
    • Admiralty will transport the battle group of players to one of the locations that is used by NPC Raiders.

Once sent to the port battle the PB Fleet ships will have 300 second of invulnerability, to spawn at the chosen place in the PB. PB Fleet players won’t be able to attack during these 300 seconds, only join battle.

The following requirements must be fulfilled.

    • All captains must be in the same port
    • Only group leader who is a member of the clan alliance or clan can use the item
    • Holds of ships can only contain repairs (no trading goods)
    • Ships must not be overloaded
    • Ships must be combat ships (not trading ships)
    • Every group member must click “Ready” button of the battle group list and stay in port (green highlight on the battle group list)
    • Transport to port battle stops working 30 mins after port battle starts

Two battle groups can be teleported to a particular port battle.

  6. New chapter 8.1.3:

    8.1.3        Conquest

Conquest (RVR) is clearly a group activity in Naval Action, only clans or clan members can participate to Port Battles.

    8.1.3.1      Acquire the flag

Having a flag in a port Warehouse or in the main ship hold is necessary to launch the conquest of an enemy or neutral port. Here an example of 5 flags in a warehouse:

    image.png.b971bdd433f0ed134584312fc4299f05.png

The only way to acquire a flag is attacking some Home Defence Fleet around enemy capitals, sinking their ships and looting them. Once acquired, flags must be used during the next 7 days (they become useless in 7 days after initial capture). Expired flags can be traded in Admiralty. Flags drop from Home Defense Fleets (10% drop rate for each looted ship).

8.1.3.2      Pick a port and announce attack

Once a least a Flag is acquired, Player has to sail to a friendly port or a Free Town near the port he plans to attack, go in Port Quests (see §5.2.15 - Port Quests), select “Missions” and “Conquests”, then chose in the list the Port he plans to attack. Player can validate “Take Flag” only during the time defined in the “Attack Window”.

    image.png.294787260c8e5cbc69c7bed98056386a.png

Flag allows attacking the two nearest enemy ports from the port in which Player is, )plus the nearest port of one of the three strongest nation. Some timers are added to prevent too many attacks on the same port (recent raided or recent Port Battle)

8.1.3.3      Plant the flag near the port

    Once the flag is taken,

    ·         All players of the present owner of the enemy port are warned that an attack is planned against their port (example below)

    image.png.5b3303d0590d91270bf0f9c2b2b99e73.png

    ·         Player has 30 minutes to go to the targeted port, at a distance shorter than 4 kilometres.

    ·         Player will be clearly identified as a flag holder, by a red flag placed over his ship on open world, visible by all friendly and enemy players.

    image.png.0397a0aed4e194df7ad510c7c18df955.png

    ·         When sailing - captain will have slower speed due to transport and organization penalties.

    ·         Once at less than 4 km from the targeted port, Player can click on  “Set Conquest Flag” to launch the Flag Battle.

    image.png.34e29e4f7b89d8323b78786909d8d825.png

    8.1.3.4      Survive for 30 mins

Once the Flag Battle is Launched, the Flag Holder has the only mission to survive 30 minutes, from the moment when the first enemy enter in battle.

    ·         Flag battle remains open to friends and enemies during 15 minutes from the moment when Player has launched it.

    ·         If no enemy enters during the first 15 minutes, Battle is won and the flag is planted.

    ·         When the 1st enemy enters in the battle, the battle timer is prolongated of 30 minutes. The flag holder must survive until the battle is over.

    ·         The Flag Holder is identifiable by friendlies and by enemies by an [F], placed before his name in the battle player list (press TAB).

    image.png.1d53bfddcc7e4238498a58096ca075ae.png

    ·         The Flag battle location is limited by a “circle of Death”, radius 2500 meters, out of which players will sink if they stay out more than 5 minutes.

The Port Battle is detailed in §9.5 (The Port Battles (PB’s))

  7. Point 4 (the easiest): 13 points are won at each round.

I found no upgrade or perk to increase this value.

In fact 15 points are earn, but two immediately consumed at round start, to reset the previous player choice.

This is also why preparation is 25-3= 23 at the start of an unprepared boarding.

Exceptions: initial preparation for boarding on 50 for Niagara and xebec. Prince to be checked.

Do not remove battle chat. If a player wants to use it, he is free of revealing his name.

    😉

If several players are in battle and salute the other team (07), it will still be impossible to know who exactly is in which ship.

If I am in a battle in @MassimoSud team, who could know who is in a privateer and who is in a Christian?

  9. Another way should be:

You can see the enemy player name when you are close enough to his ship to read the ship name by a telescope (300 meters). This visibility ideally being lost at 600 meters.

Do not remove battle chat. If a player wants to use it, he is free of revealing his name.

Something else that can be fun: when you tag a player, don't reveal his ship type before the fight starts. So that, when you tag a traders snow, you will know in battle that this is a snow, and at 300 meters that the skipper is Gregory R.

In the same idea range, please add a paint that makes a Belle Poule look like a Le Gros Ventre. Just to boost, at low development cost, the use of this seldom used frigate.

What about Admiral in Prince or Rattle hunting fat Trader Brigs in the Gulf, or in Bahamas?
It's prize money and money is better for a crew, cause glory won't buy you bread

Right. Hunting traders should not impact reputation. But hunting big traders in a tiny ship is better. Surcouf got his highest reputation while capturing East Indian Kent from the brig La Confiance.

Players who fight bravely should get a bonus over players which run - Any war court would have given high punishments for cowards ...

    About this...

    Post forthcoming

And no crew would like to fight for a captain who is only fighting lower ranked players. For instance capital harassers.

Such captains, who only enter or accept a fight when their BR is x3 the enemy, or Admirals fighting 1st lieutenants only, should have trouble for recruiting.

We also need a reputation system in your own nation. Penalty to cowards should also include penalty to fighters-only-when-my-side-is-the-strongest.

Why do Snows run to my privateer? Xebecs to Niagara?

    Yes.. Interesting

We initially wanted to just fix an exploit (where players join your side and interfere - worst horrible abuse of the false flag). But once we decided how to block it we were amazed.
Fallout new vegas style RPG systems that we did not like in 2016 and considered stupid for a lobby shooter. Suddenly suddenly started to make sense

    • Clan infrastructure can be used by positive reputation players from enemy nations
    • Port entry will matter and will be blocked based on rep
    • We can block player trade if you have low rep with that nation (Pirate Smuggling will come back!)
    • This will make honor of the flag matter and players will finally stop treating (we stopped) the map as a lobby shooter. If you make a choice to sink a british - you will be an enemy of a british empire with all consequences (including NPC attack)

This is an MMO and open world is not a lobby

Is the player reputation impacted by fights in Patrol Zones? In PZ, most players enter in random fights, in the open side, just to make damages, whatever the flied flag is.

  13. Disparition of doubloons, which is not announced, would even not be a concern. We could have a good game with a single currency instead of four now (reals, doubloons, medals and VMarks). Balancing 4 currencies is very difficult.

Crafting is not dead, even with DLCs. Just sail in 6/7th rates (Niagara, Privateer), you will rapidly see the difference between a capped ship and a crafted one.

Big ships lovers can use their Holly Vic's, then Redoutable etc. once a day, to earn time. We will see rapidly the predominance of crafted 1st rates when PB's will be back on.

I have all DLCs, I use it just a few. Most of redeemed ships are just good for crap.

  14. Only ship crafting générâtes Crafting XP.

If you just want to craft upgrades and repairs, the workshop is necessary, the academy for most valuable upgrades.

If you want to make canons and caronades, the forge can do it.

These two buildings and the production buildings (to get oak, iron ore, coal etc.) are independant from port bonuses.

Just have a look in the guide, pages 68-75.

of course its downvoted, people dont want to do intended game mechanics to craft ships, but rather want to skip 90% of the ingame content

Do not complain on a single game mechanic, which belongs to a whole.

Remove this and solo players / small clans won't have anymore access to playing.
