Any word on building transfer, specifically shipyards and workshops? They took a tremendous amount of materials to build.

Will we just receive gold compensation as has been previously hinted, a redeemable for actual building, or the necessary resources to build them? Otherwise we must start crafting ingots, stone, etc because we’ll have to build them all over again.

It was not hinted, it was clearly stated you get a gold refund. And yeah I'd strongly suggest you use this weekend to just create the resources. It's not that expensive.

Not sure. Why we would have leeway implemented if then we would have 1 single key to nullify the mechanic ?

Also, to naval fellows, how was lee countered best in the timeline, if at all ?

In navigation it was countered by being able to figure out your current position.

Frankly if Leeway just means you constantly have to adjust course, expect player numbers to drop again.

I respect your opinion but seriously they are trying to make something realistic to life yet the mechanics and the enviroment in which we play only give us a portion of our bodily senses in which to gauge these things. If they included in the mechanics the ability to let out mains so i didn't sail backwards I may have less to complain about but in battle in a game or possibly real life I would opt for forward momentum pretty much all the time.

There's youtube videos widely available of things you claim to be impossible.

I'm marking this day on the Calendar.  December 15th, 2017.  A day which will live in infamy.  A day that I actually agree with Quineloe.

Everything aspect of the game should be tied back to economy.  Upgrades should not be grinded for.  (Recipes for them, perhaps?)  Everything should be focused on having merchants in the water, moving goods.  Everything stems from that.

I've repeated this over and over. You need to pay more attention :P

Look at this map. It has arrows as currents and I think this would be the best approach to currents. Just needs extra current for Florida coast to merge with the rest as well as Bahamas. Sailing with current would add speed bonus. B6n0I4W.jpg

POBS had the currents thing all wrong. All of it. Never mind what a stupid mechanic it was. Speed buff by passing over a giant arrow in the water? Yuck.

    . Several new upgrades added

    6. New combo books added

Seriously hope they won't be walled behind massive PVE grind or insane PVP mark costs.

    Make crafters craft upgrades already.

Also, if you add Leeway to OW, we need more tools for the OW as well. Currently we're running on the tools of 500 BC, a working compass and nothing else.

Where did they say this? If this is the case I will build a load of cheap wood ships on Global before the transfer and then on redeeming make them what I want.

Don't count on me being right, but the main thing the guy asked about was his "double planking", whatever that even does, given you are certain to run into the 25% cap with even one planking (unless you double plank a fir fir ship)

I am a Global player and we need to see this change happen quickly.  Global is a ghost town right now and everyone is holding their breath waiting for the merge.  Playing right now is pointless.  Please make this happen quick.  The time is now...

I bet they're actually already on Caribbean, setting up everything. Everything will come as redeemable, so it's not like you can't just get started right now.

Why does the game offer rewards for PvP?

If a player wants to go out and pick a fight, for no other reason than to fight, then so be it. But the game shouldn’t be offering incentives for it. It creates an artificial environment where the strategic element of the game becomes largely superfluous because simply picking a fight is more rewarding, as well as turning the community toxic as every player is reduced to being just a virtual power up pinyata.

Combat should be an expense. An overhead that traders try to minimize. A last resort that Admiralties use. Its going to happen, that’s humanity, but at least let the RvR strategy determine the lions share of when and where.

Game's not called Maritime Trading buddy. You're playing the wrong game.

Yesterdays explosion of the your battlegroups friend (remember that BOOM? :) ) was also a little bit unfair. Dont you think so? :)

You keep shooting a ship on fire right between all your own ships, it's your own damn fault if it blows up. This is a well established and known game mechanic.

Or maybe they was not ready for swedes to jumpout from freeport so repaired and so healthy? Maybe they didn't had another 1,5 hour for next fight?

Wait, that's an argument now? really? "I don't have time for a full fight, so it's okay if I avoid it by abusing game mechanics?"

Maybe Dimas85 should have asked in battle to be left alone, he doesn't have another 1.5 hours for another fight. Should we have just let him go?

Is there any difference between the two?

Yes, if you are in a group and someone outside of your group of your faction gets attacked, you get dragged into the battle.

If you are in a battle group and the same thing happens, you do not get dragged into. This is precisely what Sveno is talking about. Battle Group 1 attacks Battle Group 2, but the member they have targeted for attack just leaves Group 2, and gets dragged in all alone while the entire BG1 gets dragged in and the remaining ships of BG2 can just sail on unharmed.

And it took me 10 seconds and physical pain to like an Otto Kohl post.... But yeah, what he said 100%. "smart use of game mechnics" ....
