The mechanics are blind and do not discriminate the humans, whether newbies or pros. Let's divert from discussing the players to discussing the battle options.

I thought this was national news, shitposting area and therefore it is always about the players in this thread, and the battle options talks are in the feedback threads posted by admin?

Question: Do both sides of a PB have the chance to setup a order of battle to counter the deployment of schooner/brig squadrons ?

If you have a hundred players to form different battle groups, yes. It's rock paper scissors. Rock being heavy warships, Scissors being fir / fir raceboat warships and paper being swarms of small ships.

Heavy warships simply take the circles and force the fir fir warships out. Since the fir fir have no number advantage, they can't capture the other circles. (Rock smashes Scissors)

Fir Fir Raceboats just run down and sink the unrated swarm ships (scissors cuts paper)

swarm ships just kite the slow and few warships, winning on circles because the few ships can't split up to take multiple ones, as few warships lose to a swarm.  (paper caps circles from rock)

So you need to bring three different PB groups and based on what the enemy is sending to defend the port, you either send your rocks, your scissors or your paper in.

That is what it takes to counter unrated swarms.

  2. Which port did we exploit again?

We brought ships we expected to match the French ships in CdR. We did not expect them to bring just one group of heavy ships, and nowhere did they announce that. We decided not to lose just because of that. Not an exploit. If they had brought 10 of their fir raceboat gank ships, they would have easily won. But they didn't. They thought we'd sail into a Bucentaure's broadsides in 6th rates one by one so he can rack up 10 kills. Sure, dream on.

Grand Turk was won by fighting. That guy shitposting here earlier was already in the esc menu spam clicking leave battle at 990 because he'd been zeroed on structure, Anolytic was five minutes away from being eaten and a firesnow had just taken out the masts of three ships.

Santa Marta was not even won in the PB, it was won by screening - exactly as predicted two days ago that small BR fleets will simply get screened away by larger fleets. And if you claim you wouldn't screen away a PB fleet with a stronger fleet if you had the option, you'd be a hypocrite

Are you even doing PBs? Are you just white knighting against sweden, like that other noob is? But yeah, given the most vocal salt spewer last night on global managed to lose a 5vs1  (1035  BR vs 250 BR) just last night, he probably needs all the white knighting he can get.

  3. invalid claim disproven with counterexamples by incompetent third rate player. Nothing else.

The best part here is how much REDS are whining when we can see on the video that they were actually losing the combat part of the battle as well and the 1000 points saved them a lot of ships .

When will you learn. When the Sverige nation wins they win, when they loose they still win...

You can't abuse the game against them but they can against you... Basically we all must play to the bs rules set by the sweeds...

If the battle was reversed the sweeds would be crying exploit....

Basically now is a game about kiting to win... We'll done Devs you broke port battles....

Actually when we lost last week in TdB due to circles instead of fighting, we blamed ourselves for bad play. It's in this very thread. This is why we are the better players than you are. We find fault within ourselves and improve. You *always* blame others.

Fortunately for you, being bad at video games is not really that big a deal in the real world. Unless, video games is all you have...

  5. I like the pure hypocrisy of the French players here. If the roles had been reversed, you would have sailed Rattlesnakes into Wasas and just get sunk? @DesMoines post clearly and prove it in the game: You would sail a light ship into the broadside of a heavy ship and just get sunk because that's "the honorable thing" to do or whatever.

    I'd like to suggest:

Remove the magic upgrades. Cartagena is downright overpowered and magical and so is for example the bovenwinds refit and the gazelle figurehead. They don't add anything to the gameplay and they are just magical upgrades..

Bovenwind is now garbage, so you got one of your wish.

and by the way, why is everyone so concerned with tanky ships needing more and more speed downsides? They're tanky to begin with, you can easily sail away from them. Can we talk about giving super fast raceboat ships some significant downsides first? The physics coefficient of copper plating isn't even a real downside, it helps turn through the wind faster. The extra crew required on gazelle or bovenwinds? meh.

And nevermind that naval whatever refit now gives +3.5% speed at *no* downside at all.

  8. Unlimited repairs is fine, but repairs should not be able to fully repair a ship.

    1. no top gallant repair. If that thing comes off, it's off.

    2. No repair beyond 75% armor.

    3. No repair of Structure beyond the not-sinking-point. Once a ship is at sinking structure levels, it should be possible to save it, but it should definitely be removed from battle for good. It shouldn't come back fully repaired 25 minutes later.

  9. I have a hard time believing that some guy with 27 hours in this game would get himself targeted by a three account crossteam cheater.

Amusingly enough, the only game this guy has on his steam account is Naval action. Sounds like an alt review.

What's even funnier, he unlocked "one-time shopper" on Steam on October 29th, so.. he played 27 hours of Naval Action in the last 48 hours. Clearly deranged.

I bet if I refresh his profile in two hours, it's 29 hours.

Frankly it sounds like what you and Sveno are talking about is basically a lobby system for PBs.No sailing, no time wasting....no fun.

Really. I think you're reading things into my posts that aren't there. That game is already coming anyways, it's called NAL. Flipping a port for a PB you don't intend to fight is the same thing for the defender as sitting in ports, waiting for flag purchase window to be over because you simply cannot react in time if you're doing anything else but waiting.

Are you enjoying sailing around in your ship with no enemy in sight?

oh that's right... it's not something done against your nation, so it's cool.

).  False attacks have been a tactic throughout history

Except history doesn't know the concept of a scheduled battle that has one side not even showing up. That's not a false attack, that's a non-attack.

Also, this is a game, not a history simulator.

Anyways, what this game needs far more imo right now is a reasonable chance to defend against the port flip in the first place. Right now it's really just a "grind really fast for an hour before your opponent can react on utterly worthless NPCs you'd be grinding anyways for money" . Any attempt at reaction fails miserably because the battles could be anywhere.

  12. Both Wasa and Indefatigable being 250 BR is a colossal joke. As soon as BR actually matters again, it will be very important to get these BR mishaps in order.

and big LOL @ the people who don't want their toy nerfed because they don't realize they don't even have an advantage because everyone else is  also using the Wasa.

  13. So after all the big names from SORRY are somewhere else, you guys suddenly got all tough and all-out-KOSed the few remaining members in sorry, relentlessly hunting them down with their rank 7 captains and their leveling ships.

Hats off to you. You truly are the bravest bunch to walk the earth.

Did I provocate you to uncover a Swedish state secret? :D

    "secret" lol

oh my bernie, please do tell what use this information is for you.  What can you possibly do knowing this that you couldn't have done before?

But then again you just flip flopped to yet another nation. Maybe you can now move the grudge you're holding against all Swedes to the Danes now, since they're your last one now?
