  1. This basically. Empire total war was the same way IIRC. When your ship gets close enough to the enemy ship, marines and swivel guns start firing (automatically) at enemy crew, slowly killing them over time. Make marines a fixed amount on every ship. The upgrade simply improves their sharpshooting and boarding ability.

  3. It needs some kind of change. The boarding disengage mechanic was reworked but the axes were left untouched ( and pretty much worthless now IMO)
  4. I wish they would just make speed and stiffness as selectable options not random. Its annoying trying to try a fast 5th rate and get stiffness, essentially giving you a garbage ship that you have to do-over.
  5. Before the changes in disengage, the boarding axes mod worked wonderfully for getting you out of undesirable boarding combats faster (25% faster) and I put one on nearly every ship i had. Now, with the 45 prep to disengage, it becomes much more problematic to disengage from combat, especially in pvp against a dedicated boarding ship. Having to wait 3-4 rounds to build up prep, use it all (and be defensless) and then wait another 4 rounds usually means your dead. Perhaps the boarding axes could be reworked to reduce the prep needed to disengage from combat. This would be much more usefull than there current iteration.
  6. Possibly looking for an active North American clan on PvP 1. I play on British but it seems to die out at North American primetime. I am willing to relocate factions if its not the Danes or the Spanish. I am looking for a clan that is North American focused. Looking for a clan focusing on PvP, and spends their time doing PvP roams or port battles not grinding or passing time in TS. I am close to commadore and have level 30 crafting.

  8. This is a terrible idea IMO. Xp is already too easy to get. Xp needs to be easier and the difficulty to craft ships of the line needs to be much harder

  10. Pirates of the burning sea had a much better port battle system. Contest a port, and a certain time the next day, the battle begins. This gives the defending nation a chance to defend in force. Also, remove towers and turn it into a legitimate 25v25 battle. Much better pvp. All of the port battles I have been a part of in this game have been empty and boring.
  11. They tagged each other about 4 times to avoid combat. There was 5 pirates total and they split up
  12. They need to remove battle exit timer completely and replace it with a proximity system. If you are a certain distance away from enemy ships, then you can exit the battle (pretty far). Right now its too easy to exit battle even if you are in the relative thick of things. This also makes it hard to catch ships with almost anything but a trincomalee. You can build a speed build Privateer or Renommee, but due to the lack of bow chasers, even though you can gain on most ships, they can easily exit before you can properly tackle them. With a new system for example, if you start 1500m away from your enemy, and he needs to be 2000m give or take to exit the battle: that gives you a chance to chase him down. It would also encourage the use of stern chasers in a defensive capacity. Right now it is very bad to fire them when your running because it resets your own timer.
  13. I recieved what i assume is a chat ban (cant even pm people) for what I assume was my player name ( High Impact Sexual Violence) on PvP 2. I am making all these assumptions because I wasn't warned or notified of anything I deleted the character and made a new one (Scubasteve) but I still cant communicate with anyone. How do I get this lifted?
