  1. France ought some ships to Kingston. Then they started sailing to Carlisle and went past it. The Royal Navy set sail from Kingston to chase the enemies of the crown. Contact to the French Fleet was lost at Carlisle, but a fornuate change of wind forced the French fleet to turn around and fight.  When the fleets closed in at each other, French had the advantage having the wind on their side. Thus the British fleet was in the leeward direction, the French admiral ordered his line to turn into the enemy fleet. Having superior numbers, the british fleet closed in and the fleets go split ino two groups, with the upper hand for the Royal Navy in the End, tough three british ships were lost due to explosions and one sank due to flooding. The French suffered heavy losses. Only one french corvette was able to withdraw, 15 French ships had been send to Davy Jones or lost due to the mentioned explosions

  2. Kudos to [OCEAN]Silfarion for this geat duel we had last weekend. Can't remembe when I had so much fun last ime in a 1v1.

Lots of maneuvering, trying to get a sternrake going (forced Silfarion to use brace for the first time, /o\) and lost of maneuvering to force the opponent into the leeward position.

But in the end I had the upper hand and won. I had great fun in this fight, and I hope Silfarion did as well o/

Age of Sail Ships were not build to be sunk by cannonfire. If pen get increased and/or thickness decreased PBs will turn into an all assault brawl and whoever gets lucky placing moe hits into enemy ships will win. Just look at Bermuda or Belize where attackers somehow had to adapt to the defenders strategy.

On topic: I am not a fan of unrealistic fast (trading) ships. But once speed debuff for cargo-loaded ships will be there, I hope at least this will be solved. I am more upset by the huge amount of fleets in small regions around the lesser antilles for example, where overlapping regions create tremendous amounts of fleets within draw distance.

  5. In Kingston/Port royal blocks can be bought from NPC by the price of 33. You can then sell them to NPC for the price of 109.

This can be repeated until the stock runs out. After a few minutes, blocks will start to respawn and the same procedure can be done again.

Don't know how it's like in other ports.

I have also F11'ed this (Ingame Nick; Batman, PvP1)

  6. we need generic sounds mostly

things crew shout to each other and respond to each other during battle, or even just standing doing nothing.

what would you hear on deck basically.. if you just stand there and listen.

Well, from my own experience on sailing ships I can tell that thee is not so much chat across the decks. The commading offcier gives an order and the order has to be executed.

Not much to chat about when you are pulling a rope or stuff.

  7. 1. Friendly patrolling AI fleet (small or large ones) completly ignoring enemy players. What's the point of having them?

    2. Contraband players - why can't we attack friendly contraband players anymore - it's contraband. In RL customs give a fuck if you share the same nationality.

    3. pirate Nation - should be completly different gameplay to Nation gameplay. High risk, but also chance of high profit, unique ships and hidden pirate harbours.

  8. The 24pd-long gun seems to use the same model as the medium gun. It's way to short.

Here, 24pd-long gun on middle deck on Bucentaure, barely coming out of gunport:

Now, with installed 18pd-ong gun on middle deck, much better:

On Bellona, same thing - 24pd long gun:

    18pd-long gun

Its only visual, so probably not top priority, but will this ever be fixed?
