  1. I dont care about my own ability or my rewards I am fine with or without either.

I do think amyone should get a much bigger reward for killing lets say Captain Reverse than you would some noob.

The game is not about numbers and you know it, 2 or 3 skilled people in good ships will wipe the floor with a much bigger group by joining the winning side I mean joining the side with the better players not the one with the most ships. So my theory would make it more lucrative to join the bigger noob fleet and try and kill the notorious player.

Believe me, people would club seals to grind for that flag. Stuff like this is very iffy or meaningless in a sandbox.

Seals are already being clubbed, and the reward for doing so is exactly the same as fighting anyone who might actually beat you. I seen countless times experienced people joining a battle on the same side of other experienced people rather than joining the noob side. that's fine but your reward should be a fraction of what you would earn if you joined the noobs killing the notorious player. It might stop all the experienced players avoiding each other in favour of lesser oppenents

  3. The game suffers in my opinion because the reward for killing a noob is the same as the hard earned reward of killing a very experienced player. This is why most players prefer hunting in nations green zones than they do looking up where Captain Reverse is streaming and try killing him. So what if the game gave people on a kill streak or with a very high kill to death ratio some kind of flag or title.

Killing a person with that flag or title  would yield much higher rewards in marks than killing a noob. Perhaps sighting of these notorious admirals could be reported in combat news. Make it worth while all he effort it takes to fight someone like Reverse rather than farming hapless fools.  The more skilled  player is the more notorious  he should become and more of a bounty the game should have on his head.

Perhaps then people will go out looking for these people and spend les time looking for easier wins.

  4. Its like paying people to stick their head on a block for other people who are being paid to cut the heads off. If you need to pay people to pvp then is that not papering over the cracks that pvping for many people is simply not that much fun.

People should want to pvp for the thrill of it and for the excitement, however that excitement comes with a chance of winning, and I think  that for many people is lacking. The game is skewed for skilled players to rock up to a nation capital and kill and entire group of people.  You had the pvp zones for the so called big pvp players, what happened? They avoided it because you only found skilled or organised groups there and that's to much like hard work.

I don't know what the answer is but simply bribing people to go out and loose ships is not the answer in my opinion.  Perhaps trading and trade routes should be much more important . Owning ports should be important and trade routes between them could be shown on the map and other players could disrupt trade routes.  There must be ways to make RVR much more meaningful.

How about making rewards much higher for killing skilled players than it is for killing unskilled, so when a player kills a certain number of people they get a flag or a special title on the open world like the Ace tag you could get in fighter ace, killing a person with this flag or title could have a special reward . Also it could be reported in combat news who has earned such a title and there last know location.

@Christendom ima try your tactic. blame the devs....

I say that the seal clubbing is only an issue because of the devs refusing to give us meaningful content. therefore, ganking is a problem created by the devs by refusing to give us something to do with  this massive open empty world. sure we have lots of pretty boats and nice battle mechanics but we still have nothing to do with them. so seal clubbing and capital camping is devs fault. we log on and say "well what you guys wanna do.... well we can try to fish some one out of safe zone.... okay well what else can we do.... nothing..... okay lets go." basic conversation for everyday in naval action ts.

p.s that's my best Christendom impersonation. did I do good?

Massive empty open world indeed, what do you think would happen if we removed the green zones? Even more massive empty open world.

To many sharks and not enough fish.

The green zones are like a cradle of life without that you wouldn’t have half the population or more. Just a bunch of bitter vets complaining they have no one left to kill.

If only a few more good players put as much effort into helping new players as they do into slaughtering them the game would be ina better place in my opinion.

AI fleets should attack hostile ships on the open world, with more frequent patrols between major ports and then perhaps more people would leave the green zones.

As it is currently most green zones are perma camped by other people just waiting for someone to sail out too far or make the mistake of tagging AI

  6. Tagging could be a 180 degree  arc in front of a ship, this would stop people tagging a ship while running away from it, defensive tag would only be possible if the ship at least turned towards the enemy, once the tag timer starts both ships should of course be free to turn how they like.

I think repairs are too fast and too much and the fact you can repair sails with them fully up seems to a bit much for me drags a fight out longer than necessary.

Perhaps a perk to increase battle timer to 5 or 10 mins

  7. Just create more in game content and the people that got bored will return.

Offering people even less choice than they have today will simply make things worse.

Instead of worrying about nations bring some random events into the game, stop this endless ability to run away and repair in battles, making every battle last hours on end.

Make AI fleets play  part in the game by at least attacking anyone with contraband

Nations are the least of things to worry about in my opinion, , bring back the old conquest flag and use it for raiding, (yes raids what ever happened)  allow a fleet to have a flag ship, there is a lot that could be done to spice things up

  8. i Hear what your saying but without that a lynx could grief a first rate and continually pull it into battle.

If you allow people of another nation to join your battle group to tag the attackers, what’s to stop attackers from abusing this to make their own attack force from having an even bigger BR than than a defending nation can pull into a battle? Before long no nation could attack or defend by itself it would get silly in my opinion.

You need to do two or three things. First rid all Nations of fixed hide behind Capitals. Secondly FREE PORTs cannot accommodate Clan Warehouses. I suggest two super capitals based along Religion NOT Nation lines in a thread near. Take a look.

This solves all problems from all Nations, including Nations that have yet to arrive.

Popular Nations like GB and Pirate will still be popular, but PPRs will no longer have that Impossible start.

The ONE downside is historical legacy accuracy. Which accommodating so many Nations and Localization familiarity is almost impossible to balance both. You can’t have both, but you can have a level playing field...

IF THAT’S WHAT YOU REALLY WANT...?

But you don’t really want that do you?

You guys sound like my wife at times... work it out what you really want or admit you just don't know....

Safe capitals are the reason the other nations work and don’t hemorage all their players when it goes wrong.

  10. if you want new nations to work you need to remove victory marks in my opinion and everything else that penalises smaller nations.. I would like to see PVP marks go as well.

I know these marks are meant to reward people but how can the pirate nation ever be real pirates when we know it will be open season on pvp mark farming.

Perhaps there could be more rewards for sailing for a smaller nation than a bigger one. Different nations should offer different rewards for different activities this would give nations a different play style as they could be given different goals and reward able objectives.

The commander at Balaklava may have said the same of the Light Brigade, but within months Sevastopol Fell to the same British, French and Turkish troops.  Neither of the two clans that set up PB's in Central America are big clans, they worked hard, earned their place and they went in knowing the odds, they did what they could, with what they had, They did not stand back and let the big clans fight it out as has been the case for so long, they tried,  and for that they get labelled Carebears, by some, they are told they  are stupid by others, I ask you is that really the best way to encourage PVP and RVR?  A simple GG or well done for trying would have been a far better response, unless you are afraid that they will improve and one day start to beat you consistently,  Is that the case?

Hate to say it but GB is a bad nation to learn anything in.  I would recommend going to a smaller nation where numbers are needed and you will get a lot more participation in everything.

Spain and France are quite good but little English spoken atleast at Euro time. Denmark is a good choice, Sweden also but they already big enough.

Unskilled assholes who didn’t need 5 nations to help us in taking carta.  What does that make the other side then I wonder

Our loyal muppets as you call them will follow us to Sweden because our kool aid tastes that much better than yours.  When the New Sweden Coalition Council is created we will save seats for a very select few.

Jesus how butt hurt can a person be over a port.  You were allied with Spain  France and Holland. You crushed the Brits and were gloating about it. If you piss off enough people they will attack you.

We are joining Sweden to force @admin to change this game to a clan based/alliance system and get rid of nations.

We are not joining Sweden to stop the wheel.  We are joining Sweden to break the wheel.

    Praise Us

That,s very selfish what about everyone who enjoys nations? Christ people knew you guys would start falling apart after a few of losses but your reaction is worse than a 5 year old child who got told its bed time. I am quite happy with the nations thank you very much.

  14. Even in defeat Spanish have to post pictures to try and  make other people look bad. I have been in a quite few port battles against Spain and the pictures will only come out when you win . or when you think it will be degrading to your opponent,  when you loose witch is quite often it goes very quite on the screen shot front.  The rest of your fleet didn't even make it to the battle because they were intercepted

I am  glad GB don't feel the need to post a gloating screen shot with every port battle victory.

I think conquest is mainly to fast because of (partly) broken hostility missions. Especially for shallow ports the defender has hardly any time to react if four guys in Wasas start four hostility missions at the same. Of course hostility is still better than looking for OW fleets three days in a row, I am not denying that.

But with the upcoming insta-PBs I see a lot of potential ragequit when you as defender simply can't react.

Why should it always be possible for a nation to react to a surprise attack.?  I think it would make the game much more tactical and nations would have to be a bit more careful where they stock all their ships if other nations could make surprise attacks. It also makes owning vast areas of the map a little harder and gives smaller nations a good chance to grab some real estate.

The nation being attacked could always take the port back later.

The French and Dutch have already sunk to the British low.

    Anyone for bear hunting??

Got your asses handed to you by the Swedes and the Pirates, and Danes moved across to the other side of the map make an alliance with Spain and attack the biggest carebear nation on the server. Your like a bunch of PVP wannabes who cant cut it with the big boys so have to find punch bag that wont punch back to hard. I dont think you should be lecturing anyone on pvp
