Things I'd like to see: Besides the ever elusive dream of a real working crafting based player economy... I'd like a few more small ships, and a more prominent role for small ships. Keep 1-4 Rates limited for fleet battles and "national" stuff. 90%+ of "daily drivers" being light frigates. corvettes, or smaller. Unfortunately we've been moving in the opposite direction. As long as the economy is easily exploitable we probably can't create limits via maintenance costs for ships. Limited port slots for larger ships, based on rank? I dunno. Just daydreaming...

Will the 50000 doubloon flags from the Admiralty be wiped before release?

Perhaps "Deadmans Cay" zone isn't well known. When I saw it for the first time the other day I thought they'd just renamed the Nassau zone.
They're all stupid mindless gankery anyhow.

Nope. the current storage of doubloons players have can provide for 1500 live oak/white oak first rates. (even if they stop doing any missions and looting).
But as i said we will see, and change prices accordingly. You quoted an absolutely ridiculous number of 45 million. Or do you mean 45 million is "the current storage of doubloons" for all clans combined?

We do not know the direction of the final price (yet)
Top clans had 45 mln doubloons in their clan warehouses (this is excluding! what players have on them) before the patch
So....the 1%

Rare woods are still delievered by AI. I see no reason to complain. Even 1 man clans can get rare woods just by sailing and attacking in OW.
Attacking AI trade ships is a really boring activity.

I dont understand why again @admin makes the same mistake of making RvR so painful when it is one of the main activities of the game.
RvR is pretty much dead

What you said makes no sense at all
Removing the knowledge slots we all grinded so lovingly makes no obvious sense either. Might as well go whole hog for a fresh start without the elite clans having the initial advantage of Art of Shiphandling, Gunnery Encyclopedia, Five Rings, whatever the other mega books are, etc.

No, books already learned are staying.
Books should be removed as well. We won't have knowledge slots to put them in anyway.

Why was the regular Rattlesnake made a rarity and the "Heavy" made the norm?

I was wondering where all the "Sea Trials" grand action from the youtubes went. Blue Screen of Confusion. What is this "Open World" of which you speak. Sail out of Charleston. Go South. See french bots. Go North. See a battle. Inside battle about 5 players were gang-raping a bot. Can't shoot it without hitting them, so exit battle. Back to Charleston. Next logged in again about 6 months later.

Just a quick suggestion, see what others think, What if you where able to use doubloons to remove a upgrade from a ship. classic example where you cap a ship and its not the best build, but someone decided to throw a naval clock on it or some other thing. I think it would be a great idea to implement a system like that.
I don't like it.

well there are Russian guns
developers could ad more different guns like dutch guns
and many more other types of guns
but i dont know if the developers want more gun types in the game.
Well, they just got done adding a stack of new trade goods and upgrade modules. Aside from storing more stuff in players' inventories it's just a few extra numbers to indicate a different set of characteristics.
However, I'd rather have more ships.

Most of the time I was on Testbed last night I was the only player. Someone else joined just before I left.

There are a few, but not too many, agreed, albeit a 1:2 odds doesn't need a group. Kill missions are okay'ish for solo fast sail and battle.
But yeah, 100% agree, not every player sees the game the same way.
AI fleets could scale with the size of the player group the same way they do with missions, and perhaps whether it scales with player count or not could be attacker's choice after the tag? The same AI fleets could serve both small and large groups in that way.

Today I've been having a lot of trouble with not being able to click some ports

Granted that singular ships are not common, but why not engage the fleets equal rank with 2 or one rank lower with 3 ? There's plenty of those around.
Heh, because despite some predictable behavior the AI is twice as good as I am. In larger ships fleet of 2 ships two rates down is a 50/50 battle for me. I have to use boarding or kiting to survive that.

Penetration is my primary concern. No pen, no damage. It's also nice to have more of your shots go where you're trying to aim them. Mediums also waste some of your limited chain to dispersion. You can afford lower pen and higher dispersion if you're really good at manouvering to stay at the right range for mediums to be effective.

If you want to farm doubloons with zero risk of losing them to other players, go to the PVE server.
Players sitting in a secondary safe zone on far corners of the map ganking AI ships in 1st rates right by the capital zone is bad for the game.
You can't farm doubloons very well in a reinforcement zone. In open waters I spent about a month "farming" doubloons, and only made about 2500 or so total - I can't remember the exact number. It just isn't a problem. There's nothing about players playing the game that's "bad for the game".

I use a lot of sabicu. It has that crew protection bonus

No nation needs more than 1 safe zone.
They aren't about "need". They're about giving players more options for using different areas of the map, as well as generating some extra incentive for people to use that part of the map.

Test bed seems to have very few AI ships too.
The AI distribution is really spotty, and not the same as I remember it being from a year or more ago. I found a couple good spots, and some formerly good spots were dead.

Because this is a multi player game and players being able to farm AI fleets for doubloons in capital areas (2 capital areas) is bullshit.
Meh, there are barely any duh-balloons to be had. With gank fleets in the Patrol Zones raking in thousands of d'balloons people should not complain about the pittance that other players get out of random AI ships on other parts of the map.
