I believe admin has stated that if we join a battle then we are committed to fighting. This was an alts prevention. I cannot remember where the post is. But here lies the problem. Many of us are friendly with clans from other nations. This is why when clicking on battle swords the Battle Info needs to include Clans that are in the battle. If we click on a battle sword and see a friendly clan in there, then we should not join. If we join, then we had better be committed to fighting. If we are friendly with someone not in a clan, thus they do not show in the Battle Info, and we join, the so be it, we must fight anyway.

Just act with honesty and integrity.  If you choose a side in a battle the other side is BY DEFAULT your enemy.  Doesn't matter if you trade sloppy kisses in the tavern.  You shouldn't care who they are.  (However if you find that your "ally" is a no-good cheater or notorious Captain Jerkface feel free to excuse yourself if they're bad enough.)

    - Freetown should not give Hostility Mission cause they will ignore all the new Frontlines mechanic giving to Russian,Prussian,Poland players too many advantages choosing their favourite Freetowns to take fast the best port of server (shroud-nassau, la tortue - cap francis, la mona- santo domingo and san juan) while Regular nations player are still fixed in their capital far away from those ports.

What makes you think regular nations are "fixed in their capital".  They can operate out of Free Towns too.  Most of my outposts are at Free Towns.

This a million times. NA-L should be part of NA-OW, not a separate thing.

I'd just like to have fixed senario/composition "lobby" battle events in game that either all players can sign up for, or perhaps a competitive version between nations with some kind of OW RvR effect.  The ships would be senario ships appropriate to your rank, with a basic setup and very limited repairs.  No mods or knowledge slot nonsense.  I bought NA because of the Sea Trials youtubes with a vision of being in huge naval battles, but good battles rarely happen in the open world game because of all the shenanigans.

Today we had 0 PBs, tomorrow we have 1 PB. I remember a time when I could pick and chose which port I wanted to screen at, just to find some PvP action, now it's becoming as rare as spotting a player in OW. But then again, I'm being overly critical here.

I understand that all of our time is valuable. But I would propose that helping promising/enthusiastic new players ultimately gives me better gameplay. Becoming a shark by joining the sharks is an excellent example of how we can train new players.

well...I'm not a shark, so I can't help in that area lol.  just saying that the primary way to avoid being a seal is joining the seal clubber club

Some surefire ways to reduce seal clubbing:

Experienced Captains protect their shores and their seals. Make it too expensive to mess with you.

Experienced Captains and Clans train up, equip, and assist seals. Make them sharks instead of seals..

Nobody wants to spend their precious time following other players around instead of playing their own game, and the whole "coast guard" wild goose chase routine is usually a huge waste of time for everyone involved anyway.  Seals will generally stay seals.  Most players have achieved their ceiling a few hours into their first brig or frigate.  The only way to become a shark is to join the sharks in a very time intensive way.

This is a really good point.

First small towns (which are also easier to defed btw) and then the big prize, the capital

Before attacking Cartagena de Indias, Admiral Vernon attacked Portobello, which was a small city in that time.

That would eliminate the stated intention of "front lines" (which seems to be moving back towards county scale control of the map)

    • Mission availability
      • Hostility missions will only be available from National Capitals and County Capitals and Free towns.
      • Hostility missions will only be available for the 2 nearest Enemy or Neutral County Capitals.
      • Example
        • To conquer Arecibo Regional town in Puerto Rico if you are Swedish working from Gustavia
          • You first have to conquer County Capital in Virgin Islands
          • Then you can take a mission from Virgin Islands county capital for San Juan and conquer it
          • Then from San Juan you can take missions for regional towns in San Juan county
        • Alternatively you can of course sink player ships or NPC ships around Arecibo and gain hostility directly.

Wouldn't you be able to take the hostility mission for San Juan from the Free Town of La Mona?

It doesn’t seem to me that many of our most deadly — as in get the most PvP kills — captains are depending on luck to demast. They’ve spent the time to learn how to pick the masts apart. It’s a skill, just not one I like being possible in the game.

But it requires MUCH less skill with lower ping

A bit of eye and hand coordination, sure, but it's not a ping and refresh rate exercise.

It's more like gambling.  You can shoot the little balls when the indicator looks like it aligns with the masts, but even with longs the balls tend to go elsewhere than indicated.  Then you try to guess how much to compensate and the next ball flies off in a different direction.  If you get lucky or commit to it long enough perhaps enough pixel balls will hit to Win The Jackpot.  Or maybe you just end up looking foolish.
