If you enjoy zooming in and watching 6 guys standing around waiting for their turn to kick some dudes arse then stick with tw. I'm thinking this game is going to be more of a tactical game than a graphics masterpiece. I'm guessing it being a compromise between sid meyers Gettysburg and tw. Its the type of game we need.

David-not trying to be a prick but what good would that do? I think 90% of the people who will play this game know the map very well. I know what your saying and that would be great, maybe a random map generator in the future could bring in this aspect of a battle.

I would say 1)Battle1 2)Storm 1 3)Fleet 1 4)Victory 5 5)Deck 1 As for dislikes I only have 1 x)Victory 6 (too close to lighthouse) For advertisement purposes I would recommend the following; 1)Wargamer.com (you may want to contact them to do an actual interview about the game as well) 2)Google adwords-pick keywords ie.-ship of the line game, naval warfare game, napoleonic game, etc. Whatever key words you think people may type into google search. You pay everytime someone clicks on your link after they search these words. You set your own budget (like maybe 50 cents a click) and you set your own budget monthly. If there are any others out there advertising the same keyword, it becomes like a bid between cost per click. I think you would be safe using a low budget and low cost per click to find people who may be interested in this type of niche game. 3)The people who have been following this game from the beginning are gonna be a high source of advertisement. I belong to a napoleonic gaming community (Lordz Modding Collective) with over 5,000 people registered on our forum. I personally am going to put links up to direct people to this game. Find out how to contact groups that played age of sail and potbs (I think many of them found you). 4)Give some kind of kudos to those mentioned above in 3). Early access would be nice Anyways, I hope this helps and thank you for all your hard work gents!

I like the look of this!

Play Ntw3 mod. New version 3.2 is outstanding! Play a little bit of War Thunder and also BF2 Project Reality mod (which is a great mod btw). Anxiously awaiting Naval Action, Ultimate General, Festung Europa (from the makers of Darkest Hour mod) and now Project Reality 2 (which was just announced yesterday as a standalone project).

If I could start this game and join an mp game which would be battle of trafalgar, battle of the nile, etc...and 25 people were waiting for more players. I join the game and take control of 1 or 2 ships and mumble is instituded so i could only talk with ships close to me as if it were a signal. Ships had true sailing characteristics and damage was legitimate. The French started on the leeward side and took shots at the british masts. I couldnt ask for anything more. I have one request for you guys and that is give Digby beta tester status. I dont know the guy at all but i know he spent a lot of time modding ETW and NTW sea battles. If anyone knows whats up its him. Anyways, I got a group of at least 4 that will buy and play this game so Im wishin u guys the best.

Hopefully we get this feature before the custom unit editor I'm still waiting for (ntw). Lol

I couldn't agree more with digby. I modded ntw's sea battles so ship speed, turning radious, and damage was more realistic. I increased hull damage by nearly 400% and the game was decent BUT AS SOON AS YOU SAILED TO WHERE YOU SELECTED YOUR SHIPS TO GO, THEY QUICKLY UNFURLED THE MASTS AND IMMEDIATELY STOPPED. What a waste of time. No drift at all. Please offer us the opportunity of battles/historical battles. I really have no interest in an mmo (no offense to anyone). If you had preset battles at somewhat close quarters then this game could be fascinating.

Looks and sounds great. As a huge fan of CWG2 I was always hoping someone would reproduce these fine games. I have one question that I havent seen asked in this forum. I almost feel stupid asking but will there be fog of war? Im sure the answer is yes but I just wanted to hear for sure.
