Im not sure where you get your information Livineater but making false accusations is not a laughing matte to me. I have never been in a battle with Tommy, so I don't know how I could be griefing you with him. Moreover I got my game key on Friday so there is no way I could have been doing it for weeks. I would support that, or even a large pool (of 'historical sounding' names) and the name is automatically generated for the ship when it is crafted. I'd love to name my own ship but weighing that against all the racist and trolly names we would be sailing around I would rather have names assigned to my ships.

Probably has already been suggested but I would like to see a few different maps for the instanced combat. It would be awesome if you engaged someone in a port/river mouth/bay that this was represented in the instanced battles. I really like how the OW sailing works in this game and even the tagging/instanced battle (which I often find game breaking in other games), I think this would make it seem that much more 'realistic' and make the instanced battles less contrived feeling. *edit(looks like the devs have confirmed something similar)

I wouldnt mind a fleshing out of the battle join system. I (USA) came across a small ship battle of GB vs France. I can only join the battle on one of their sides. I would like the option to join the battle as a third party? I think this would make even more sense for the pirates in your situation. As for loot, perhaps if they join the battle on your faction's side they should split loot/captured boats at the end of battle (no idea how that would work...) or maybe it all goes to the person(or fleet) who started the battle to make helping a buddy in battle purely altruistic and not an event to capitalize on. Battle salvagers should be viable targets, or, from the other perspective, salvaging should carry risk. More (3+) in-battle factions would also make it more important to fight in smart places. Heavily traveled trade lanes would be dangerous places to start battles and they could spiral out of control quickly. Thx Coolbord9
