  1. hey IonAguirre, I've tried following your method to create the hull on Rhino. However I've always had trouble with getting the surfaces right with the network of curves tool. Could you give me a few more pointers? I've created the curves, but after using the tool it only creates a partial surface. The end sections seem to be giving me a lot of trouble. Thanks, iMack
  2. Oh that's cool. You might be interested to know that I bought one of those consumer SLA printers, the Form1+ last week. Works like a charm. I'll try and get some more pictures up soon. It was actually due to this game (and a bit of Black Sails) that got me really interested in this era and started me making a model ship. Most of it's been modelled on CAD and laser cut or printed. Mind you, means I have to go through the longer process and make sure everythings completely solid otherwise the printer rejects it. Printed at 1:64 scale.
  3. Incredible work, I do like a good chamfer myself. What program was this done it, 3DS Max? Must be a lot of hours in this. I've been practising my CAD recently trying to make the HMS Pandora. Is this a water-tight model? - would be nice to try a high quality resin 3D print of this.
  4. I'm sure this has probably been mentioned, but having the gun ports open and close would be a nice detail. Especially on long voyages where it might give you a little extra speed (so that there is a reason for closing them). Once opened they'd need a minute to setup before loading time. Leaving gun ports open could leave you more susceptible to flooding in stormy weather as well.
