  1. Limited crew resources is not the best idea in my opinion. It can cause a 'hunting rush' ..who first log in daily at certain time and steal more crew from the poll. To make the big ships more expensive, crew costs can be added. Lets say for each day at sea you will have to give your crew a pay on arival to port. Similar type as the travel xp is working now. Biger ship, more to pay. After fights, all lost crew will have to aditional be paid as 'family compensation' or recover for injured.
  2. What if all ship types will have some official prize for capture, than if you win the ship in boarding combat youll get the prize and opponent will lose his ship. If your opponent will surrender he will pay the same amount as the prize to you, but still keep his ship. If the prize to pay will be lets say 50% of the new ship, players will consider to surrender to keep atleast some less cost for loosing. If we will add that the more damaged ship is worth less in prize to winner but more to repair for looser we can see that surrenders will be considered to offer and accept maybe more often that ship sinking from gunfire. To asure player will have enough cash to pay the prize on surrender, there can be a compulsory insurance requirment bfor sailing. If your ship sunked or captured yoll get insurance cash back, if u surrender youll have to buy new insurance bfor leavin port. And maybe some more insurance value if ship is carring some valuable cargo. Paid in port, than if marshant ship surrender the winer get more prize from cargo insurance, if marshant ship will get to the port of call, the cargo insurance cash will be given back to him.

I would prefer to see oponent ship sinking than surrender;), its just more fun, if u go watch action movie in cinema theres no complaining that explosion looks unreal, or that Rambo in real life would be killed in first 5mins of movie. In fact i think the ships could be even sinking with more holywood cinematics, instead of geting slowly under water verticaly, maybe colapsing on one side and crashing masts on water, kind like this, ..but thats just my opinion, Real life aspects are boring sometimes, thats why we have games;) ..and one more question, ..what if someone will surrender but the other no accept it and still sink the ship with all the crew?, will there be some court for war crimes??

Friendly fire is great in game, if the ship is far enough and cant see the player name, u need check the flag not to shoot to your teammate, its quite realistic, ...maybe jsut instead of adding damage that you deal shooting for own team mates, make it on minus, so instead of +1000 poinsts from broadsie the one will get -1000 from what he earned bfor in battle.

Personaly it makes me laugh if i see someone insulting in game, thats just funny people getin so much angry coz they lost in virtual world or takin it too much serious, games was invented for relax and fun, if u too much stressing yourself probably you should choose some other way of relaxation in your free time;) but anyway, insulting can made bad influence to lot of players, so the solution could be temporary disable for use chat window for those whos inisulting or shouting too much, either in local chat or in the battle. For recognize the bad behavior can either give the 'locking power' for most active and honorable players in game (we can even vote here in forum who could it be to get those duties;) ,..or by making report/ignore button in game, if one will be ignored or reported by enough number of players than he will simple loose ability to use chat anymore for a while. For trolling behavior in game such as 'wasting time coz i want to do it', ..well best solution is cpt. Nornica advice to chill with a beer;), ..or followin the potbs, if u not shoot or get hit in few mins, u can exit the battle with a draw.
  6. Its hard to handle indeed, but if u try manual sail adjusting instead of auto skipper whan turn, it can get quite nice effect, specialy whan your opponent assuming your turn rate is very low and no expecting find himself in situation eye to eye against your cannons;)

Sailing in cutter with multiplayer crew would be obviously mistake, ..but if u will have big ship with 3gun decks from which need set little diferent accuracy and range shot, and 3masts with manual controled rigs and sails up or down, than if someone proposed bfor enemy damage stats visible only in scope, ...multiplayer controll could give u some advantage, you could turn faster, aim faster and shoot faster, ..and you will need affort just for one big expensive ship instead of two;)

    If u havin troubles log in with steam account its probably your anty virus protection software block it, ..had this problem here, after disable firewall for 15mins it works well.

  10. Maybe the names should be determine acording to the ships performance and be obtained as a title or reward. Admirality office will grant your ships name, if u win for example 5 or 10 battles you will get something like : 'Invincible Anne' , if u flee a battles : 'Fast Merry' , that of course could take lot of time to organize what name should be given, but after all seeing the ships name you could be awared whats her captain behavior in fights;) Other question is what will happen to the ship name if it is defeted, should it be posible to be taken by the winning capain, should be back to the nation pool or be able to use on your new ship.

If they will make same as its in EVE (i bother myself to give it a try and lately play a while), ...than any member can choise whatever nation they like and still cooperate in one society for the nation that will be currently in alliance with, ..beeing spaniard still make u opportunity to work for dutch or brits;) ...jsut hope not as a spy;)

It would be more easy if u can make all your desired buisness in port with single mouse click on kind of icon or pictures, without wasting time running around in avatar mode and looking wheres the door to entern tavern for a mug of beer or something. ...I wont miss avatars in game, simple game profile picture would work fine for me.
