Is SweetFX and GEMFX okay to use?

Everyone knows what SweetFX is but some may not know what GEMFX is.

Initially designed for Total War: Rome 2, it works with practically any other game. It has a built in config tool and can also import SweetFX settings or you can just edit your own in the config tool.

 

It's basically just a better version of SweetFX tbh.

 

Just want to know if this is fine to use, no risk of banning?

I don't see why you'd get banned for using it, if it only edits visual effects.

No it doesn't remove in-game effects.

I tried installing it, but it did not work for me. Can someone provide a small guide on how to get it in NA plz.

There is a recommendation by the dev team to not use it since there are might be issues with Steam. If you decide to use it - do it on your own risk
