  1. Not all of us are like that. I directly take care of both of my parents who are in their late 60's early 70's.
  2. People keep confusing me giving them advice with me being upset that they didn't release the patch. I haven't played but maybe 2 hours total in the past 5 days. Them releasing the patch does little for me at the current time. Though, them avoiding flak and public outcry again for setting a date and failing to meet that date is bad. I'm just letting them know to never give a date for release of a patch again to avoid things like that.
  3. Setting dates again and not following through? I could have swore I said something about this before... Just. Don't. Give. Dates.
  4. Man am I totally looking forward to this. Now anyone who calls Roberts on his shenanigans are going to get mod warned in Brit chat. Please no...
  5. I'm not really sure I understand what they mean by that part. If it means "All guns are useful in their own way now", then I'm all for it. I usually choose to down-gun myself to keep relative reload rates across all decks. In my Pirate Frigate I use all long 12lbers. In my Surprise I used all long 6lbers, just preferred it that way. A lot of people feel that there is no reason to not use the biggest gun you can equip, and I found that ridiculous as what would be the point of being able to equip smaller guns if they are in every way worse.
  6. Should be added that Rolling Back is incredibly useful for long range combat because you can range in your shots without having smoke in your face.

  8. I think I speak for everyone when I say...
  9. So the ship that wins this poll is the only ship to be added in the first half of 2016? Or am I misunderstanding what's going on? How many ships will be added in the first half?
  10. Even Admin said "Not everyone reads the forums". Even still people talk about that specific change in global from time to time. The fact of the matter is the swapping of nations while keeping XP is listed in the thread called "Upcoming patches this week". Can you really blame them? Then we have the Developers ignoring this issue, refusing to talk about it AT ALL, like the entire idea is a disfigured leper. So yea, some people have come to the conclusion that it might be implemented and deleted their characters to switch nations only to find they lost everything. Then they just quit playing all together. You can't have one thread talking about a change "Coming this week" and another contradicting it all on forums that the vast majority have never been to, meanwhile people talk about the change in global all the time. People will get confused. I hate to be a quotewhore here, but this reminds me of a quote. Edit: Typos, etc. “If words of command are not clear and distinct, if orders are not thoroughly understood, then the general is to blame. But, if orders are clear and the soldiers nevertheless disobey, then it is the fault of their officers.” ― Sun Tzu Currently, the information is not clear enough for everyone.
  11. You're right they have been very open, until quite recently actually. Three days ago I would be surprised to see them not respond to most questions or issues, but since then there has been very little. Like I said early in the thread, I'm just making sure they don't make a mistake that could hurt their reputation this early into EA. That sort of thing kills EA games. If they don't have a PR Rep I suggest they hire someone pro bono from the forums to handle it. Believe me when I say that I am not some anarchist that wishes to see them suffer from this. I just want them to uphold every promise they make, and to not fall into the traps that other larger companies do. They are not backed by a large publisher who will save them from PR disasters.
  12. I love when people use that same excuse every time even though all we want is a single comment on progress with a very specific feature. Yet apparently it takes 40 minutes to write a 10 second reply in this thread. We are not asking for the moon here. Here's how you get us to stop complaining about this: Post an update, takes very little time, the Post button is in the bottom right corner of this page. We read the update. ??? We shut up and you profit. The thing about Early Access games is that people are purchasing it on pure faith, to keep their faith you need to be very open to discussion and transparent in your development. Again we are not asking for a massive update or huge changes. LITERALLY a single response from Admin about the faction change issue is all we require. I see him responding in other areas just fine, so the excuse that it would interrupt progress to respond is asinine.
  13. Also it should be noted that there have been people who have already attempted to change factions under the assumption that they would keep their experience and have found out that they lost everything.
  14. Very well. It's your game not mine, I only give counsel on what I have seen happen so many times before. Yet if you feel all is going to plan who am I to voice concerns.
  15. A single sentence is all that is needed. It wouldn't take one of them but 10 seconds to say it here.
  16. It wouldn't be an issue if they only would come in here and drop a comment about it. You never EVER say you will do something, not do it, and then proceed to not give a reason why. Not in development, that's something AAA developers do that pisses people off to no end. Transparency is key, they have been good about it up to this point and now they are starting to make some mistakes. Admin needs to just come in, say "Ahh sorry guys we couldn't get it in when we said we could, no biggie it will come next week" or something, just to let us know what's going on. Either that or never have a date attached to a change like this again. I shudder to think of the players who have already deleted characters thinking that xp carries over because they read "The patch from 1-5th of Feb will allow changing of nation but keeping of XP".
  17. No it doesn't remove in-game effects.
  18. Everyone knows what SweetFX is but some may not know what GEMFX is. Link to GEMFX: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?672483-A-R2-TW-GEMFX-Version-1-0-9 Initially designed for Total War: Rome 2, it works with practically any other game. It has a built in config tool and can also import SweetFX settings or you can just edit your own in the config tool. It's basically just a better version of SweetFX tbh. Just want to know if this is fine to use, no risk of banning?
  19. In the future I would be wary of giving dates for when you plan to patch.
  20. I don't think the Devs want to swing that particular hammer around too much, yes people will always find a way to exploit it, yes they will usually be Pirates. I'm sure the Devs will figure something out.
  21. Possibly tomorrow I would suspect. Although be careful, make sure you read patch notes if they come up, you don't want to accidentally delete your character and actually lose progress.
