Paraclete
Thanks Surcouf, now I have a craving for steamed crabs, broiled rockfish and Natty Bohs, darn yur eyes! Is she narrower in beam from the Pride I? Best vid I've seen showing her deck layout. She makes the Lynx a wanna be.
maturin
Thanks Surcouf, now I have a craving for steamed crabs, broiled rockfish and Natty Bohs, darn yur eyes! Is she narrower in beam from the Pride I? Best vid I've seen showing her deck layout. She makes the Lynx a wanna be. She is three whole feet wider than Pride I, and considerably larger in the other dimensions as well. But her rig was not increased in size by the same proportion, making Pride II a less extreme vessel than her predecessor (the motives for which should be obvious). One thing I didn't learn until recently, however, is that Pride II is nonetheless a much better vessel. The first boat was built as a dockside attraction, and it showed. Her performance under sail was never what it should be, and the rigging and sails were never set up right. She couldn't get closer than 60 degrees to the wind, which is almost like a square rigger. Pride II got all that sorted out.
