Patrol Zone, outside zone, not sinking bug

Had a Patrol Zone battle, where I left the battle zone circle. However, after the 5 minute countdown, I did not sink as it is intended. See screenshots below.

I re-entered the circle (despite having timer 0), then left circle again, and sailed out of the circle again, timer reached 0 again, still did not sink.

Note: It also applied for the enemy in the battle. He also was outside zone for well over 5 minutes and did not sink.

Pls let us know out the outcome of the investigation. I suspect (not 100% sure) that has happened before when I could have sworn my enemy was outside zone way to long then should be possible.
