    I have never played POTBS, I was an Uncharted Waters Online player myself. The whole world explorable, but usually spent my time battling Ottomans around the Med.

    Ah, I remember that fight. Ramming is indeed a risky business and there is more to it than it looks. The wave you ride before you make the impact plays a huge part of it, then its up to RNG gods.

    Not sure if its been mentioned, but the ability for deck based marines to fire from the ship at close range during times other than boarding.

    Europa Universalis is set in much the same time and the slave trade in both the colonies and the rest of the world is featured, no need to whitewash it here. If players do not like it, then they should use the sandbox to enforce it to be illegal, hunting known slave carrying ships for example. It opens more interesting situations.
