Hi, would it be possible to show more stats for ships in the shop please?
I'd love to know how fast the ship I'm buying sails for example.

I did some research. Looks like the figurehead was the Apostle Paul:
Some sources claim she had a lion as her figurehead: http://forum.modelsworld.ru/post273379.html#p273379
Nevertheless, it definitely had a figurehead (it was a flagship after all). I don't think the devs left some space for customizable figureheads (it's not in their immediate plans), they just forgot to make it for this ship.)
Pavel = Paul

Please add 'Tab' to spot and focus on nearby enemy ships. Alt+Tab friendly ships. Players will loose their eyes trying to click on that tiny dot on the horizon.
Also, please add ability to click on port and see it's name and description from the distance.
Just don't make it Alt+Tab please..

My point is, that the view that suits me, has major gameplay shortcomings. For example you can only see maybe 200m from the ship due to the huge waves.
-
Lads... please read the OP, I'm talking only about OW..
-
I must say I have something simmilar. The graphics settings are always reset when I enter instance battle. I have to set them up in each battle instance cause somehow they are not saved.
That's a different issue.
My settings are kept and the ships are not anti-aliased.
-
Well the Title says it all.
I've noticed that when I'm loaded into a Battle instance, the top of the waves are anti-aliased even though I have AA disabled in settings.
Can you please check that out? Could be a huge performance hog for slower computers.
I can post screenshots if need be.
-
Erhh why?
- I like being able to also go to 3rd person just to take a look at my ship (In the OW as well, even the simplified model's are great).
Because you get an advantage in better view range in 3rd person view right now.
As I said, you would still be able to see your ship in 3rd person, but only under certain circumstances.

Personally i am zoomed in as close to the deck as possible when in a battle. It feels much more immersive.
- I'm talking about OW and Battle Instances.
- - And ofcourse, it's nothing more than an "option" and you won't have to use it if you don't like it ^^
I'm actually against it being an "option" in OW.

I understand what you are suggesting and strangely enough when I first started playing Sea Trials this was how I played, I found it easier then. But I kept crashing into other ships, it was hard to judge distances and rates of turn. So I switched to remote view as a matter of control. I don't think I would be able to maneuver effectively in deck view mode no matter how realistic it is.
I guess you are talking about Battle instances. (you can't crash into other ships in OW)
My post was about OW.

From what i remember this is also being worked on but again, other things are prioritized at the moment. ^^
Glad to hear that!

I think it would be lovely to be able to control the sails the same way we do in Battle instances. (auto and manual sails)
It would go a long way in immersing into OW sailing together with realistic turning and proper buoyancy.
I know the current state is just temporary, just adding my 2 cents.

Hi.
As you may know, I'm not really getting the feel of sailing in OW right now.
I understand the limitations and devs decision, I know they are doing their best, and I know it will change in the future.
What I discovered was that when I "sail" zoomed in to the deck, It feels much much better. The immersion boost was extreme!
I suggest making the "Deck view" the main view for the OW. (There could be circumstances when you can zoom out (being static could be one of those circumstances).)
Giving the option to make the sails even more transparent would be great as well.
Flattening the sea would add another step in making it feel right.
In addition to the Deck view, it would be lovely to add spy glass to the OW as the main way of spotting ships.
You would be able to get information about the ship only using the spyglass in longer ranges, by looking at them without spyglass in shorter ranges (like in battle instances).
You would be able to see the flag of the ship (with possibility to include "false" flags in the future), without having to click twice for each ship.
You would not have to click the ship (which is not really user friendly when the ship is on the horizon) and than another click to hail the ship.
Opinions?

I think it would be a good idea to add "cons" to some of the modifications as well.
For example:
Right now, you can have a Speed Rig as well as Extra Planking.
I think that realistically, most of the + speed modifications, would have something to do with making the ship lighter (not all of course).
You get the idea.
-------
Another idea is to create modification categories and limit a number of mods for each category.
- Sailing: Speed, Handling ...
- Crew: Boarding stats, Reload time, Repair time ...
- OW: Attack circle size, Attack timer ...
etc.
What do you think?

Is it just me or you can't shoot anything else than ball rounds in Renommee?
I can change the round type, but when I shoot, it's always default ball.
I'm not sure, but I have a feeling that the range changes according to round type, but damage properties and graphics are always ball type.
Any info on this please?
The stern chasers work like they are supposed to.
It's quite a pain in the ..., as I am stuck with only one shoot type. (can't effectively capture ships or destroy their sails)
-
I like it more than the previous version.
Strange, but I feel the ships sink sooner than they did.

I would be willing to have Arena Mode in the game if you could only sail the ships you have earned in Open World.
-
I hate the idea of a battle arena. It's against the whole open world thing.
Exactly.
-
the cliping of the zone edge shows you all ships there is no point in adding more of it
I think you misunderstood the OP. He wants to blend the edge so that the ships are NOT visible as they are now.

I'm sure the overall graphics will improve in later stages of development.
-
Great job, Cheers! Want me to make a PDF out of it for you?
