I used to like sailing a ship of the line with carronades and long guns, I disabled carros for long range shots to use the long guns aiming system, but since the last patch if you disable the carronades it keeps the carronades aiming system instead of switching to the long guns, so you have to shoot long guns as if you were firing carronades, you will notice this with the aiming path white lines, when you disabled carros they used to change to the thiner long white aiming lines of the lower deck long guns, but now it sticks to the broader and shorter lines of the carronades even if you disable them
Noticed that too in my Essex. The guns on the upper weather deck are all placed in the rear part of the Essex, and even if I disable them, the main gundeck start to aim in the middle of the ship. Pretty annoying I must say.

The "all" battle chat doesn't seem to work for some players, team chat is fine though.
Yeah just came in to report that. I can't send anything to the All chat, and can't read any messages sent to the All chat (might not have been any messages there though)
Tried the Off/On routine in Settings to no avail.
Started with the Land Patch.

Admin already stated that there will be something like that in game (might have changed since than though, so don't take it for granted).

First screenshot shows the wind running parallel.
Second two screenshots show it blowing offshore (perpendicular), if I'm not mistaken.
True, I was looking at the last two.

Slightly off topic, but:
Imagine AI Traders having to physically distribute resources between ports.
That would mean that players would have to guard their Nations Traders if they want to keep producing stuff.
I'd love that.-

I'm using Lenovo Y50 with maxed out settings apart from antialiasing.

I think you can do this if you lock decks.

One question based on a closer review of these screenshots:
Will the wind direction relative to the land at the moment the battle is instantiated be taken into account?
In all the screenshots above, I see the wind is running parallel to the coastline and (if I'm reading it correctly) at one point blowing offshore.
Is there the possibility of the wind blowing onshore, i.e. creating a lee shore danger?
It's actually perpendicular, not parallel.
I'm sure the wind in Battle will be the same as in OW.

We are not sure about realistic damage yet and detailed depths.
Main reason - detailed collisions eat a lot of FPS.
Better shallows/depths would only be possible if we cut down the battle size. But who knows.
Please make it happen somehow. I have faith in your team.

You can't do that at the moment. I'd also love to have that feature.
You have to wait for them to finish the repairs (it takes a really long time).

I'd also prefer not showing if it is a player or AI for enemy ships.

His suggestion actually says "requires one-on-one PVP battles at each rank.", so it would be a mandatory thing to level up.
The OP is just an idea to brainstorm about, not a final concept..

Servers are up and running
Databases were rolled back to 8 CET snapshot (maintenance)
Players should keep their XP and Craft XP, but will loose items and gold gained after 8 CET. As a compensation all affected players will receive 5% of their Gold amount

Putting out a major content update and keeping it very quiet, major marketing fail on the teams part if they're looking to maintain their player base. Not even patch notes yet?

But at a later stage.
You should add printed artwork on that list (loading screens, ship profiles, etc.). You have great artist(s).

My favourite "Top Gear" was when James May taught a 75+ yr old Vicar how to drift.
I wish someone would take this old (48) Pastor on a race track in a mucke car and go drifting!

Only prepared boarding crew will fight in boarding for both sides
Will the rest of the crew join the fight during the course of the boarding as well (seems realistic) or is it going to be a fixed number of crew prepared at the moment the boarding starts?
