  1. You're the one fantasizing about pushing the button to kill millions. What the hello kitty are you talking about? We dropped more bombs on Vietnam than all of Germany and Japan in WWII combined. Millions of Vietnamese died during the war -- the majority of them innocent civilians. Do you know what "search and destroy" was? There are children still being born today with severe (and often fatal) deformations because of Agent Orange and other chemicals we used. People die every year from unexploded ordinance -- children included. We left Korea because the alternative was literally nuking and invading China which would have killed even more people, and it may not have been a war we would have won in the end. Invading China would have forced the Soviets' hand, and they would have moved in to help defend China. A wider nuclear war could have been the result. Why are you two so hellbent on the thought of killing civilians? Why are you choosing to die on this hill? You sound hello kittying insane.
  2. They're both armchair soldiers who are daydreaming about killing innocents, justifying actual warcrimes because "reasons." I'm praying for everyone in the line of fire and I hope Nick and any other GameLabs people in the country are safe. I hope deaths and injuries and damages from this point are minimized. But literally arguing that America should go in and commit war crimes, in the same breath that he says "we lost Vietnam because we didn't wage total war," is literally detached from reality. Go read a book.
  3. Literally millions died in Vietnam. You're sick.
  4. "Poked a bear?" The dude is saying he wants to murder civilians en masse. I bet he'd totally be the first to enlist to bomb all those evil civilians who are currently sitting at home. I'm definitely the immature one, though.
  5. I'll just let this post stand for itself, and I'm going to stop responding to you now. Please re-read everything you just said in the morning tomorrow and try telling yourself you're being "just" and "moral." And for the record, I'm not of Russian descent, and I don't like Putin.
  6. No, I just think you're batshit insane for wanting to mass murder innocent civilians.
  7. So you don't like the fighting in Ukraine, but you want to kill innocent civilians? lmao
  8. You have no idea what you're talking about
  9. Are you going to ignore how he's being racist against Russians too and saying they're "all useless?"
  10. I think the "optimal" customization would be breaking guns up into barrels, breeches, and turrets. Like I said, that may require a LOT of work on the devs' part to implement, but it would increase variety and I think would also deal with the issue we're discussing. Of course I'm clueless as to the specifics though
  11. Yeah, I noticed this was becoming an issue starting around a year ago. I also think at some point around that time, the sizes of several turrets were adjusted to weird proportions (Japanese heavy cruiser turrets are the one example that comes immediately to mind). I don't see the devs altering or working on this anytime soon, though I think it'd be a good idea to put this in the suggestions thread, if it hasn't been already. Possibly splitting up the turrets/guns into different components could help too, though I'm not sure if that would require significant alterations to the game code.
  12. To be frank I don't care. I've been following multiple games from other small dev teams for years now which haven't even released or even reached a playable early access beta state for the public. These are small dev teams, they aren't Dice or LucasArts or Infinity Ward with hundreds of millions of dollars in backing and hundreds of employees. To be honest and with all due respect, I really think you are making a mountain out of a molehill here.
  13. To my knowledge all the beta patches are released first on Steam under the beta branch. After a week or so they are then released for the original pre-Steam launcher.
  14. To be honest I don't really find this is an issue. A minor misuse of a word, perhaps? Sure. But everyone knows what it means. It should be also noted that Nick is not a native speaker of English.
  15. It's the changelog of the upcoming v1.05 update. Not sure how that's hard to understand. Speculating about it doesn't really do any good, especially with something like this which is kind of ridiculous. Their offices are in Kiev. Odds are they are just ironing out some last-minute big bugs that have proven more difficult to deal with than originally thought. It's happened before and it likely happened again.
  16. At this rate probably not. At least it probably means the devs are hard at work hunting down major bugs and other such issues.
  17. Exciting to hear! Looking forward to what you guys have in store. Keep up the great work.
  18. I trust that the dev team is working hard at introducing plenty of new early-game hulls. Nick has actually been pretty adamant about that point for a few months now. We already got some nice larger hulls for France.
  19. I'm not sure if Nick/the dev team want us to keep all of our suggestions in one post; if so, I can edit this into my first post. This is relatively minor, but: for early battleships, the option to go below 16 knot max speed. Some of the earliest "modern ironclads" of the 1870s and 1880s only had top speeds of around 14 knots, some even slower. So maybe for Battleship I (for some countries) or Ironclad Battleship hulls, allow us to go below 16 knots for a top speed, if possible. This also lets players trade off speed for thicker (iron) armor, since armor advances in game are lighter but more expensive. Maybe this could be best implement only for legacy fleets to improve immersion and add some diversity to starter fleets.
  20. Could there be a way to autoresolve a battle after having started it, or still putting the game at 10x or 30x time compression? I'm doing a 1900 campaign and I'm basically just sitting here hour after hour fighting battles where a cruiser torpedoes my battleship (knocking out my engines) and then just circles me for ages. It's boring and frustrating, and being locked at 3x or 5x time compression still means I have to sit here watching the timer count down for 30 minutes or more. I really enjoy this game and how far it's come (and really look forward to where it's going in the future), but stuff like this drives me insane.
  21. I'd like to second this. I remember posting this a few months back and think it would really refresh a lot of the ship designing aspects and fleet management.
